'SOMETHIN' HAPPENIN' HERE...WHAT IT IS...'

Recently I have received a lot of e-mails and phone calls calling me a fraud and a liar over something that is very innocent. I reported in a blog a long time ago that Lori DiNallo was a Republican central committeeman for Painesville. I thought it was strange that on the 'walking' list provided by the Lake County Board of Elections in January of 2009 Lori and all members of her family (except one) were listed as Independent voters. I wondered out loud how you could hold a Republican party position and be an Independent voter? I was then presented with a 'walking' list from August 2009 that shows the whole Dinallo family as registered Republicans. Since there was no primary election this year I could not understand how someone could change their party affiliation.(The rules state that the only time you can change your party affiliation is in a primary election year)People told me that I had the incorrect 'walking' list. My paperwork was presented to the Board of Elections to Mrs. Clair and she could not duplicate the 'walking' list from January 2009 that I showed her along with the receipt of my purchase of the list from January 2009. She did show me lists prior to that date showing the Dinallo family as registered Republicans and the current list showing the same Knowing Mrs. Clair as I do and the credibility that she deserves in that position, I believe that there was no mistakes made (deliberate or unintentional) on the part of the Election Board. No one can explain why that one particular list read differently. Having said all of the above...I am not a liar or a pot-stirrer...just a citizen that is reporting what I saw. I hope this ends the e-mails and phone calls.

So how do they explain it happened?
Something smells if you think so or not. Computers don't change data on there own.

What else is smells is that the people who had this list since January of 2009 chose this late date and just before the election to finally try and use what they call negative campaigning by insinuating some kind of conspiracy or impropriety took place. Lori has been stated to be a Republican and Central Committee person here for a long time. She is listed a Republican and has voted in only Republican primaries in the past. That means she declared herself a Republican. Term even had a problem with her because he thought she shouldn't be a Republican because they would give her support.

People listen to the first thing they hear that is negative and there isn't time to check the facts or get to the bottom of things.

All this for a position that is suppose to be non-partison. This isn't about a person from one party trying to vote in the other party's primary to try and get a weaker opponent elected. Since independent voters can't vote in the primaries, this can not be the case here.

This is simply a ploy by another candidate to use smear tactics. Since Term and all the other candidates are Democrats, could this be where the smell is coming from? Jan Clair is mentioned because she the director and a Republican. FUNNY, no mention of John F. Platz the Chairman of the Lake County Board of Elections. Is it because he is a Democrat?

Yes, Something SMELLS fishy here. By the way, what difference does it make what party the rest of her family belongs to???

Term and the Democratic candidate behind this have a lot of explaining to do and that candidate lost my vote.

There's a "fellow" in that office that could clear this up.

They were listed on the walk sheet as all living at the same address. I'm getting blasted by your side calling me a liar. I try to clear it up and now its something else. I even went along with Mrs. Clairs explaination all I tried to do was to get you and some of your friends off my back and quit saying I'm made that up. Great Badger you explain it, and how it happened? John Platz did it why?Call Mrs. Clair up validate the story.

Badger must not have been at the meet the candidate night. Term went after the top Democrat. Keep your vote Badger, if you don't like what you hear you blame the message. Until now I didn't care who was what maybe I should uh?

Term, you are the one who ONLY mentioned the Republicans. You and You alone. Not me. The Board of Elections is make up of both Democrats and Republicans. I just pointed that out to you and the rest here. Same thing happened when Arlene's petitions were ruled invalid. Again, both the Democrats and the Republicans were unanimous in their ruling. You or the candidate who has this walk list are the only ones who have this list. Explain to me how I can explain something I have never seen or have no proof of where it came from.

You have accused the Board of Elections, the whole board, including both Democrats and Republicans that they did something wrong or fishy. I merely pointed out that the buck should stop at the top with the Chairman who happens to be a Democrat. Since someone at the board is suppose to have generated this list, who was that person and is he or she a Democrat or a Republican?

By the way, anyone can request a disk of the registered voters in Lake County. Did you or your candidate have them print the list or just get a the disk. Anyone can then load that list into their computer and alter the data. They could then print a list with the altered Data. How about when all the paper info was converted to digital files? An awful lot of data entered for the over 160,000 some registered voters, a mistake is possible. I don't know, Do you?

I didn't imply or accuse anyone of any wrong doing at the Board of Elections. You did. Since you fired the first shot and looks like you may have missed, you can't complain if someone fires back. Goes with the territory.

I repeat. Funny all this came out this close to the election. Someone had this list for 10 months and are just now bringing this up. If this candidate or you just started to use this list, why not get an up to date list. One with all the voters who registered since January?

My question is why now? Also how do you propose I explain a list that I and almost everyone else hasn't seen? To much of he said, she said, I think, they did, this party, that party is doing something sneaky.

In a non-partisan race, party is not suppose to matter. So answer me this, what difference does the party Lori or any member of her family belongs to matter? It seems to make a difference to you or this would be a non issue.

I never called you a liar. I am questioning the motives of you or this unnamed candidate in making such an issue out of a 10 month old walk list. I'm sure you both know where she lives and are able to walk up to her or anyone else's door and knock on it to talk to them.

Making a mountain out of a mole hill or an possible innocent mistake by someone for political gain is my problem in this case.

Let's get back to the issue of electing the best candidate for the office.

One more thing I forgot to add. You or anyone can also go the the Board of Elections web site and download an up to date walk list for any precinct in Lake County. I did and the Dinallo's are listed as Republicans. I suspect the 10 month old walk list and the inability to get an easily available list to use as the problem here. Not a conspiracy or Term trying to stir the pot.

I can]t figure out how this affects anyones run for office. Call the election board and see if its true.If its is and Term got this list from them have them explain it. I don't see it as a campaign ploy I just wonder how this would happen. If Term made all this up a phone call on Monday will prove his motives. Sounds like some of you must believe hes lying.

At October 24, 2009 at 9:44 AM , Anonymous Badger said...

Yep, Terms latest conspiracy theory. So, Term, is this the Republicans on the board saying Dinallo is an independent or the Democrats on the board trying to discredit her? There are both D's and R's at the board. Who is to blame? Maybe it's the school board or city council who planted the mole. Maybe it's Bush. Could be Clinton, too. Or even the Taliban. Whoa, we forgot the illegal immigrants. Rita also has something to gain here too. This is sure going to undermine the whole political system in Painesville. We could call in Acorn or Limbaugh to run this election. Chavez and Ahmadinejad know how to conduct and election too.

Is this the "SOMETHIN' HAPPENIN' HERE"?

You said you wouldn't post anything here until you had the facts. So just what are they and show us the proof. Tell us who or which candidate was given this walk list. If you mention one person or party by name, why not tell us who the other person or party is?

This is America and the accused have a right to face their accuser. So what will it be. Are you willing to post who the accuser(s) with this list is?

Term, I have never called you a liar. I resent your statement "I'm getting blasted by your side calling me a liar."

The election for Painesville's City Council should only have one side. That's what's best for Painesville.

I am Patriotic American and I vote for who is the best candidate who serves that end. Take that for what it's worth.

I would like to take a moment to offer my respects to the family of Marine Lance Cpl. David Raymond Baker, who made the ultimate sacrifice.

No debates, Just my respects, condolences and thanks.

I never mentioned a conspiracy. I advised John Murphy to purchase a walking list as that you could know which homes had registered voters that could vote in the up coming election. I believe any prudent candidate would do this. He went down to the Lake County Board of elections an purchased a list for around $18.00 in viewing this list I noticed Lori DiNallo was registered as a non-partisan voter and only mentioned that I thought this was strange considering her being elected in a Republican position. I don't believe Mrs. DiNallo did anything wrong or anyone else for that matter. I just wanted an answer to this and maybe I was little tired of people telling me I made this up. In review I should have thicker skin and care less if people think I'm making stuff up.
Sorry if I caused anyone to think this was a conspiracy.

Mrs. Clair should have a clear answer on how this happened, I agree computers dont change data. Everyone today seems to be unabe to explain how computers change information. Who accused anyone of anything in the first place.

Term, all of the Landlords and Bob Gibbs support John Murphy.

Ask him why other peoples signs are being removed and more of his signs are showing up on lawns where they have him and others signs, I talked with some of the homeowners and they did not want the other signs removed ?

I bet he does not know anything about it,
right.

also Term, you said you were not Johns campain manager, telling him to go get the list, sounds like what one would do, if he was a campain manager ?????

At October 24, 2009 at 2:51 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Here is a why now:
Because now she can get all the republicans to kick in money and get their support of people to walk and put up sign locations.
Simple solution:
Ask her.
I bet she says she is a republican.
No conspriacy.
Just ask her.
Term, you're a democrat right? Does that change your view of her?

I have no problem with Mrs. DiNallo I'm sure she would admit to being a Republican. My question was about a walking list provided by the Board of Elections. I told him to get a walking list, big deal. Dennis Morton is John's campaign manager and has done a far better job then I could.

Just when I think you have more then one brain cell, you make another stupid statement. Mrs. DiNallo would admit to being a republican. Really? Check today's interview of candidates in the News-Hearld. Lori DiNallo Elected experience: Lake County Central Committee member. For who Lori? didn't want to let people know or an oversite by the News-Herald?Lori, Abby and the new Judge have trained you well. You will be a perfect bobble for Had A enough! Who was the short little guy from Republican Headquarters helping you out? Term, I can't believe you are so easily taken in?

My question is this.

Everyone here seems to think that the Republicans are the only ones to question here. Dinallo's party has nothing to do with her running for council in this election.

However, in the next primary, she would have to declare herself a Republican to vote in their primary. Did a Democrat change her from a R to a Independent to try and have an effect in the primary? What possible gain would Dinallo get by changing to an independent by some form of falsification. However, the rest of the candidates running for council gain by any mention of impropriety on her or the Republican's part.

Since people say computers don't change data, then it could be a person from either party who did this. Why assume only the Republicans could be at fault? All we have to do is look at Cuyahoga County to see that is not the case. Let's face it, dishonesty can be in both parties. Until anyone's party is completely, and I repeat completely, innocent, let's refrain from casting the stones.

I think this is nothing more than human error entering the data or creating the walk list. There have been over 160,000 voters data entered into the electronic database. Since this walk list can't vote or prevent anyone from voting, why don't we drop this Republican or Democrat bashing and get back to the issue of choosing the best candidate. Male, female, R, D, independent doesn't matter. If you want the change everyone is talking about, then vote for the one you think will bring about the change you want.

Ome fact in all this bothers me. In the News-Herald interview why is she a Lake County Central Committee Member? There is no such post you are either a Democrat, or Republican member. Someone explain the omission? Seems like Lori would fit in perfect at city hall, not by what she will tell you but by what she will not tell you.

What also was interesting was that neither Fodor, or Dinallo mentioned there employment was with Painesville City Schools. Mr. Fodor as the assistant superintendent until his retirement.

My own way of thinking is the Mrs. DiNallo never intentionally tried to misdirect anyone. I donot believe she would be a bobblehead for anyone period. She is an independent thinker.

If all five candidates think illegal immigration is a crime who is promoting it in Painesville? Maybe the City Manager what other reason could there be for looking the other way. If you lose this election Mr. Hada it is because you and the rest of council have never addresses the biggest problem Painesville has.

Sincerly,Why theres no Hada sign in the yard this year.

Ome fact in all this bothers me. Just check your facts

The Lake County Republican Party has a Central Committee. It is made up of one person from every precinct in Lake County. The Democrats have a similar thing in their party. These Committees are are part of being a formal political party.

Lori is part of that Committee just as Arlene Becks is president of The Lake County Democratic Women's Club for the Democratic Party.

So, now we know. Term and John Murphy have this list. Badger might be right. Term and Murphy are the ones behind this and just before the election. Political gain seems to be the reason behind this. Who had access to this list for all this time and are just now bringing this up. It is clear to me now.

I just wonder how much more of this will happen in the next few days?

At October 25, 2009 at 11:42 AM , Anonymous TERM>> said...

I think the person means to say I am an elected Republican Central Committee Member of Lake County. Just as Ms. Becks would say I am President of the Lake County Democratic Women's Club of Lake County. Not the Lake Countys Women's Club.

My take on all this is it is more important to get out and vote than it is bash the other person or party. Voting is the issue. Let's get out and vote. This is the main purpose of having a walk list. To introduce yourself to the public and get them to vote. Hopefully for you.

If I could build a candidate, he would vote exactly like I do. Problem is, the only one who would do that is me. No one would ever vote for me. That's why I would never run for office.

So let's get back to the issue of voting. We need to take time to listen and learn about all the candidates and then decide who would be the best person to sit on council. Forget where this person works or what party that person belongs too. Also, forget what Term or even I think. You have the same voting power as either of us. You can cancel our vote or add to it. Just get out and vote for who YOU think is best for Painesville.

All the rest of this bickering is just a load of crap.
