"RAINDROPS KEEP FALLING ON MY HEAD"

We all remember fairy tales as kids right? Well I'm going to tell you one that should have been on "Rocky and Bullwinkle" show called Fractured Fairy Tales.
Remember this is just a fairy tale.
Once upon a time there was a kingdom ruled by a Queen and controlled by seven dwarfs most in the kingdom went about there everyday lives with little concern what was going on in their part of the kingdom. In this kingdom lived a very gruff and pushy Bear that by everyone opinion was a pain in the butt. The Bear had one trait he was very industrious and one day he built some rabbit burrows in a spot that was a nice area down by the river. The rabbits seeing the burrows all wanted to live in one of these burrows. The Bear agreed and sold the borrows to the rabbits each for a jar of honey. While he controlled the burrows he made sure they had proper care and insurance. After most of the burrows were sold the rabbits decided they could run the burrows ,the Bear agreed. One of the thing the rabbits decided was why do we need all these expenses lets cut some. Life was good in the burrows and even the Queen came down and had pictures made of the happy rabbits in there burrows.
One day after more then 3,000 trips around the sun a great rain came a rain like this had not been expected and will probably not occur in another 3,000 trips around the sun.
The river overflowed flooding all of the rabbits burrows,to the Queen credit she had some very dedicated knights who by their bravery managed to save all the rabbits. The rabbits stayed at the old school house until they could find family or other burrows to stay.
The Queen summoned her dwarfs and it was decided to make the rabbits "whole" again. The Queen contacted La Turtle to see if he could get the great alphabet to come up with funds to make the rabbits future brighter, They went to the head Wizard to see what he could do? Yes they received alot from all these places but it still wasn't enough. In conversation with the Great Wizard a very strange plan was concocted where the Wizard would pay something off for the Queen in exchange that the Wizard would get the land by the river but no bears, rabbit, even dwarfs could ever go upon the land again. Also the Queen agreed that she would be responsible that the Wizards wishes were carried out.
Everyone will live happily ever after....Right?
One small problem that the Queen might have overlooked was that the rabbits only owned where their burrows were. The Bear seemed to own at least a big part of the land the Queen deeded to the Wizard. The Bear when informing the Queen about the problem explained that he would hire a Shark and go in front of the Wise Owl to make his case. The Queen summoned her own Shark to see the Wise Owl. The Wise Owl has tried to get the the two to agree but the Bear wants 600,000 jars of honey which the Queen doesn't have. Until the Wise Owl rules the Wizard , the Bear, the Queen even the Rabbits can't do anything. Now you know how the signs are on "Kingdom Property"
The Bear's not that crazy about the Irish leprechaun he just knows the Kingdom needs new dwarfs.
The moral of the story? You decide. I've lived in this kingdom to long to be surprise anymore.

Don't forget the Queen and the dwarfs have a meeting Monday night 10/19/09 under the Golden Dome 7:30p.m. Can we all say 40/60?

Your kidding about this .

The deal was all owners had to sign over, one refused, that doesn't make it the cities fault.

The city negotiated the deal, if one refuses fine, let the whole deal collapse, all the owners can once again be on their own, and the city shall never again issue a building permit for a worthless piece of land one greedy old man is holding on to.

The evil here is Gibbs refusing to sell his so the rest of the owners are stuck. Why are you blaming the City?, they did everything they could to help the owners, one owner refuses and it's the cities fault?

The Bear just wants the Leprechaun to become a dwarf, so he can control him, and then he can poop in the river when ever he wants.

Hey,

If a bear craps in the woods, did Bob Gibbs build condos on top of it ?

The evil her is the queen and the dwarfs made a deal on something not in there possesion and its not 1 condo. Plus the bears been crapping in the river for over 40 years and the dwarfs do nothing. get real.

Its really quite simple I lost over $35,000 due to the flood why did the city only try to make these people whole? Where in the city charter did the city have the right to make this deal anyway. It seems the only way out to to pay the bear his honey.

If this fairy tale "bears" any truth the adminisration should be held resposible. It won't be because the council president and law director are up to there necks in all this! How many more years will we suffer under these two ?

Is it just me, and I'm not blaming anyone. That if the Condo owners had proper flood insurance the bears, wizards, queens, and even the rabbits wouldn't be in this mess? The property is along side a river in a flood zone what was everybody thinking? Someone make sense of this.

The question here should be why not who? I have watched Painesville make some of the craziest proposal over the last couple of years, Amp-Ohio, the hospital property, the hotel property, and now this . Talk about sticking your nose into something you shouldn't. Someone brought up an interesting point, why no flood insurance? Why what loan forgiveness is everyone talking about?

in talking to the BEAR this evening,it was disclosed that the BEAR, not only owns several condos, but the land and the river.so, the city administration ahs knowned about the BEAR for the last several years, so what is the problem? come to a council meeting and ask for some answers. and they will tell you that it is in ligation, and that is true, but you have the right to ask the question, whether or not you get an answer is the question. a SQUIRREL

The Bear or as we call him Bob Gibbs, has done so many rotten things to the people of Painesville & Painesville Twp., that any one who would want him to back them, in a council race, must be crazy, there is no way we will vote for John Murphy, with all of the landlords and now Bob Gibbs supporting him, something is not right ???
Gibbs does not live in Painesville and can't vote for him ?

Bears have a right to back anyone they want to. Why has the city not addressed the problem in public? Mr. Murphy feels everyone deserves fair representation, resident, property owner, businesspeople. Do we have a city where a single mother with 3 children has her utilities shut off at $250.00 and well find the money to pay your bill or freeze, and at the same time let a resturant build a $11,000 bill? Is this the diverse Painesville you speak of? Not who you are but who you know? This town makes you wonder whats going on from electric bills to getting grass cut, something wrong.
I will adress things like the RTP at the hospital site in the future, somethings wrong people.

Some of you on this site are so hateful of the city you let it blind your viewpoint.

The city could have just looked at all the condo owners and said "too bad, your on your own", and watched most of them have the next 30 years of their life ruined trying to pay for those condo's that were underinsured.

Of course then someone would have attacked the city for that stance also.

So, the city figured out a way out for the owners and now Gibbs, in his usual hateful, disdainful style, refuses to sign with the rest of the owners and it becomes the cities fault?.

I hope you guys complain at the council meeting, the city says fine, gives the money back to the EPA and tell the owners their on their own, too bad.

Then Term and all the other haters can face the condo owners and explain why they chose Gibbs' side of the issue.

Your hatred of the city Admin is clouding your judgement, you should back off and cool down.

Gibbs has cheated people for his entire life and this is nothing new. He builds below code and does not care, anything to make a buck. Just because you have money and a bad attitude does not make you worth a thing. And if the tone here is that Gibbs backs Murphy then I think that made my mind up on him.

Gibbs is a raccist and a bigot and I will say that I have first hand personal knowledge of this. I do not have to explain to anyone here but I will say that he was face to face with me years ago and I was never so insulted in my entire life. And I was there to speak with him on a good will mission, he did not need to elevate to the level that he did.

The City tried to make the best out of a bad situation and assist the people that live in the flood zone. They made the deal with the contention that all must agree, does not sound like they bargained anything away from anyone here. Each person has a voice and Gibbs is proving that. So how did the City do anything that the people did not want. They used there position and influence to broker a solution for those people that still, because of Gibbs, have troubles to this day. JT. Glad to see your back. Bob Gibbs has insulted me also, I just insulted him back. This is not really about Bob Gibbs this is what the city did down by the river. If this was just about a couple of condos. it would have been over long ago. This has gone on for three years, why? John at least has been out front about people that back him, instead of candidates who won't tell you who's backing them. Its refreshing to see everything in the open. Who is the owner of Arrgone Apt. backing? You'll never here from the candidate.

His attempt to sabotage the mission strands him aboard the Jupiter 2 and results in its becoming lost. By the middle of the first season, the character becomes permanently established as a foolish, self-serving, impulsive, scheming coward. My one and only experience with Bob Gibbs was lunchtime sometime earlier this year at the Depot. I was enjoying a catfish sammich and he came in and was talking - at length - about blacks, Jews, and "fags". The person working the bar fell right in with them and was laughing it up. Very bad taste, in my opinion, especially since I remember going to St. Mary's in the 80s and seeing employees and customers of SMC over at the Depot. Haven't been back since. Sorry to derail the discussion, just figured I'd chime in a bit.

All I can tell you I was down once and without asking Bob made my family secure for a period of time, I guess he doesn't want to be known as a giving person. Trust me he is, he didn't even want a thank-you. Even insulting me when I tried.

Term, I agree that three years is a long time to wait, but, I would think that the planning of a project this big took a considerable amount of time to complete. There must have been thousands of points that came up along the way. Heck, I wanted to paint some rooms in the new home and thought that was going to be simple. Until I realized that there were eight layers of paper. When I scraped the paper, I found the plaster to be in less than perfect condition and needed patched. Then All of the trim was gapped as the paper raised it off the walls so it needed to be caulked. Then I found that before I could paint I needed to look at the electric sockets and switches. Of course that lead to another problem. Finally I was able to put paint on the walls, but not before putting two coats of primer to cover the fresh patched plaster. NOW I get to put the paint on, no I forgot to paint the cielings, so I did that. On to painting the color and seeing my new rooms.

My point is, something as simple as putting paint on the walls turned out to be complicated due to unforseen circumstances. We don't know all of the pitfalls along the way with the EPA and other federal agencies. Bob Gibbs surely did not help matters and in my opinion could step aside and make these people better off. But he has rights, right? The same civil rights as the rest of us that he has violated for his entire adult life. JT

Right...I see the signs, including the huge flashing illuminated one. Blaming the police is one way of doing it, but will it get anything done? People are generally ignorant and will do what they want to regardless of the rules, laws and signs.

The new road is great! It did not take any longer to get down the road and I think that most will not even remember all of the hassles with the old road. It is much safer now, and when most get used to it, it will prove that the City did the right thing. JT

This grammatically tragic story without any specific merit or basis in actual fact is supposed to inspire voters to put Murphy on Painesville City Council? For a guy so technically advanced to have a blog, I would think his seemingly well-funded campaign would have a website or at least a phone number for concerned voters and citizens to be able to speak to this potential public official. One would hope that with such well-heeled donors as Mr. Robert Gibbs, Murphy could at least run a decent campaign machine. This blog is truly a gem in the tangled weeds of the Internet with it's crackpot hysteria and skewed manipulation of actual facts.

YOU CAN TAKE THAT TO THE BANK! so post 407 , put that in your pipe and smoke it. you can believe what you want, but john murphy has run a clean campaign and i am still going to vote for him, because he makes sense in what he wants to achieve when he gets elected. john is his own man and will continue to help the people of painesville, even, heaven forbid, he doesn't elected. so, when you vote tuesday, think about this, if this was you, and people where saying unfounding accusations about you, you would resent it also. so vote your conscience. a still concerned citizen of painesville
