"DO THE LOCO-MOTION WITH ME"

First off some interesting meetings to let you know about this coming week;

Tuesday October 27, at Morley Library in Meeting room "A"
A presentation by Nachy Kanfer Ohio representative of the Sierra Club for an informal discussion about the future AMP-OHIO coal burning power plant to be built in Meigs County Ohio. Along with Painesville's financial involvement in this project. This plant could have an impact on Painesvilles Electric rates for the next 50 years.
Meeting to start promptly at 6:30p.m.
************************************************************************************
Just got an e-mail today the EPA will not issue permits to build this plant presently and a decision will not be announced before summer of 2010.
To some of you who might have an interest Painesville along with other AMP communities invested in a new power plant called Prarie States. The cost of construction has risen a Million Dollars a day for the last six months. What a deal this will be in the end. See if anyone mentioned this at the council meeting?
Thursday October 27,2009 all AMP-OHIO members will vote on the the Meigs County Power Plant I can only hope that reason will enter into this.
*************************************************************************************

Andy Flock's Town Hall Meeting this Thursday at 7:00p.m. at the "New Huntington Elementary School" on Elm St. in Painesville .
A representative from Senator Sherrod Browns office will be there to answer questions you might have about the proposed Healthcare Bill now in the Senate.
Please feel free to ask your questions, but people will be asked to leave if they become belligerent.
Please remember this is to ask questions on what is or is not covered in this bill.

To some of you that believe this whole Healthcare debate is taking this Country down the wrong path.
On Thursday November 5, 2009 at noon people are asked to meet at Veterans Park to let our Congressional Representative know "to keep there hands off of your healthcare" A fellow poster let me know about this and asked to post it on the blog.
You can get more information by going to mailbag@afp-mail.com or Ustream.com
************************************************************************************* A short report on the healthcare presentation, around 60 people attended and as a whole everyone acted like I would expect Americans to act. I felt the mood of the audience was against a public option and had good reason to wonder where this agreement would take us I would have to agree with them. The Representative could not believe that an employer would drop there healthcare program and make you take the government option? Really most employers would jump at this. The problem right now seems until the Senate and Congress says here's the Bill we for the most part don't know whats proposed. Again I want to thank the people in attendance on how well they conducted themselves.
*************************************************************************************

The reason for the Locomotion title?
Understand that a "Jalapeno Loco Restaurant" might move into the recently vacated "Storm Cellar". Just hope they weren't told they would receive free electricity?

Term,
First thing, I hope the people comeing here from the Sierra club and from Sherrod Browns office do not find out how dumb it is,that you call Elm Street School by the wrong name, just get over it.

The next thing we will not leave the mtg. if we have something to say about our health care we will say it, this is open to the public, and no one will stop us.

P.S. You do know it is on the web about the mtg.,
they are comeing from all over.

Same restaurant that basically used Illegal immigrants as forced labor? You know the one that was raided in Mentor. They will have a lot to choose from in Painesville. Would these people be racist, slave holders or what. Will the city overlook all of this and open them with open arms and with special incentives? The city needs to draw new business to town but do we need one like this?

First things first the Sierra Club meeting is at Morley.[funny they kept that name]
The meeting Thursday will be a question and answer session, with questionaires passed out at the beginning of the meeting. You ,me anyone can write a question down on a piece of paper and a moderator will ask them. Its a public meeting but there will be guidelines or do you just want to go there and scream? I want to know what there trying to pass. The Painesville Police have already been informed of the meeting.

I plan on going to this meeting and expect to hear answers, not just people yelling at each other. That just shows people they have no good argument. Why would people from all over come to a small town meeting if not to cause trouble. Have your own meeting I need facts!

This is great news! Term, and Badger can now fight over 4th and
5th place.
Now what boys.

Thats great they pointed out three I shouldn't vote for. Don't forget they endorsed Taft.

The problem with both these meetings are they will only provide info from one side, and then everyone on this site will quote it as the gospel truth from here in out.

Bring information from the other side. Prove if coal will be viable in 40 years. Explain how great your healthcare is and your not concerned about the cost. Everyone tells me how much this or that will cost but no one tells me what it will be the cost if we nothing?

Don't worry Badger or myself are not shedding any tears over the News-Heralds endorsements, why? Well to steal a line from Lori DiNallo's campaign Live, work, play in Painesville. Who on that editorial board that won't even sign a name to the endorsement lives, works, or plays in Painesville? Why would you even care what they think? Jim Fodor got an endorsement why? because he didn't go to the Lakeland interview? Did he ever say why he never showed up? Joe Hada experience? yes after almost 28 years he has that but what has it brought to Painesville in the last 28 years? I'll stick with John Murphy with no regrets and I'm sure Badger still believes in Lori DiNallo I'm willing to bet the two best candidates in the race.
Still waiting to hear from KAREN on this one!

Please Lori
I feel like I am held hostage by the city of Painesville as I can't sell my house.
there isn't one person I would vote for so not voting at all, what's the point.

At October 26, 2009 at 2:36 PM , Anonymous Badger said...

Just to keep all you bashers in suspense, I haven't even decided who I am voting for. I think it would have been an even better election with Arlene in it, but she messed up her petitions.

Since council can't declare war, decide the health care issue or raise my federal or state income taxes, I don't care where they work, what party they belong or what sex they are. I want the best ones for the job.

How I vote is personal. I will never tell any one who I vote for. The most important thing is that I vote.

To eliminate a candidate just because they work someplace or belong to a certain party isn't in the best interest of City of Painesville. I've said it before. If you want change then you need to get out and vote for the best three candidates in your opinion.

What in the he** difference does who I vote for make. Or Term. Your opinion or mine doesn't mean squat here. It only counts if you VOTE.

Badger, you're so right they can't declare war, raise your federal or state taxes but they do have a say in probably our biggest investments, our homes. What kind of community we want to raise our children in, what services are provided to us,and the general welfare of its citizens. Someone once mentioned to me start by fixing the little things and pretty soon you can see some of the big things start to change.I've been in Painesville most of my life. I love this town but I'm not too crazy what I have seen happen around here in about the last twenty or so years. I wrestle with myself if I'm a racist because I get angry when I see all the illegals that have made Painesville home and broken so many of our rules? I watched a city administration not only look the other way but to go so far as to welcome them to the community at a council meeting. Yes the man admitted he was here illegally.
I have tried to approach people that I considered my friends to make them aware of my concerns and was told about a baseball team that afew of the people I knew played on?
I have seen my friends reputation besmirched either by stories that were never mentioned in public only on a back page of an election reports, I have seen a councilman charged with Malfeseance, and never followed up on. Just put it out there in the public, question their votes.
While other communities prospered in the 90's Painesville for the most part stayed stagnent. Yes we doubled our physical size but what has become of all that. Builders brag that these homes are in the Riverside school district and not Painesvilles, are they telling people you don't have to worry about your childrens education if you move here? Yes we have Core and Airfoil but what have we lost?
The Lake Hospital system; just maybe if we were proactive and bent over backwards they might have stayed. We reacted when they announced their move. Terrible timing don't you think. I have attended council meetings and heard so many half truths I can't even believe they're telling that story again. We use the same process as Mentor to find a city manager? If Joe Hada was honest with us he would admit that he hired the city manager over the phone. He kept council abreast of the JEDD agreement?.. ask them yes or no?
Disappointed with the city and the schools you can take it to the bank. If city hall thinks they have seen my last picture or heard my last comment they're so wrong. No matter who wins the election I'm not going away. My agenda; I don't have one I'm just tired of the four rules of Painesville
1. pay your income tax
2. pay your property tax
3. pay your utility bill
4. sit down shutup and don't bother us!
yeah Badger thanks for letting me vent.

Agreed, hence my statement,

"I don't care where they work, what party they belong or what sex they are. I want the best ones for the job."

People here think they know who I am going to vote for. The fact is, I still don't.

The only way to maybe break this status quo is to get more people out to vote. More people to listen to all the candidates. More people who will get involved. Maybe if people spent as much time at a council meeting, school board meeting or at the schools getting involved as they do here bashing each other we might be able to move forward and in a better direction.

Just my 2¢

Sure seems to be the case around here. Maybe it's the ones who think they are being denied their entitlements. I'm entitled to say anything or do anything I want but if you say anything I will call you a racist. That way I get what I want. As things get worse around here this is only going to get worse.
