".......SOME MISUNDERSTANDING"

There must be some kind of misunderstanding, I will explain latter. Council meeting everything passed.

The city gave a nice proclamation to Mr. and Mrs. Pollutro on celebrating their 70th Wedding Anniversary. Mr Pollutro started Pollutro Insurance in Painesville in 1951. The Pollutro's raised three children in Painesville. Congratulations from everyone.

Intrigued.. Don't have much time but what do you make of this. Lake Hospital System or Lake Health whatever there calling themselves this week. Informed the City Manager do to some tax issues? The new Urgent Care Center will not be opening in Downtown Painesville until late April? Seamless UH? I have been in Lake East and they have a sign that countdowns the years, months, day, hours, minutes, and even the seconds until the move to Tri-Point October 21. Yet even knowing about this move since 2003 the system seems very unprepared. They are talking about opening a storefront next to Subway downtown until the center is ready. Wonder if they'll have a 5 dollar special too? Councilman Flock suggested they keep the present emergency room open until April? Wonder why the city or the hospital system didn't think of that? To steal a phrase; Lake Health doesn't seem to care about "The people who, live, work, and play in Painesville."
More to follow.

Mr. Dorsey suggested a levy by the city to purchase the school properties as green space for the community, I for the most part agree with State St, Huntington, and Lathrop site. I question the Harvey site only because that I have been told is prime real estate. This might be a bad time to ask for a levy and the school board has an obligation to get the most money for the sites. Also I resently found out the Rollerrink is for sale, wonder if anyone thinks that might be a good site for a Community center and public pool, just dreaming.

Tony Torre suggested the hospital site be turned into a Casino, and that we need three new members on council. {That went over big from the front table}

Went to the "Bridging the Gap" meeting tonight . Learned we have a new problem to deal with in Painesville. Group of young African-American and Hispanic youths fighting after school. Since the first of the month Chief Smith said his department has been called for 7 incidents along with 5 incidents at school. He is worried that this will only escalate and wants parents and community involvement to stop it.
A speaker Rev.Billing from Cleveland strongly suggested we put an end it it now. As the young people get older it will only get worse, and what happens if gangs get involved and drop guns and other weapons into the fray? Rev. Billing has spent time in prison and was the leader of the Cleveland Crips. His suggestion was that we meet/plan and/ execute the plan. Listening to him I believe Painesville is very fortunate to have the Police Chief we have. His quote to Reverend Billings, I don't want this in my community, Rev. Billing stated most times he runs into people in denial, not here in Painesville. About 50 people attended the meeting and a lot of questions were asked. I asked why the school district wasn't present and was told for the first meeting they wanted only to hear from the community? I guess that makes sense. There were numerious clergy in attendance from the African- American community strange no Priest from St. Marys or clergy along with any other Hispanic leaders it seemed a little strange only Ms. Dahlberg represented the Mexican community. She seemed extremely happy to see me in attendance. No Ms. Dahlberg did not blame any group or person. All and All a very informed meeting.

Now I have been informed the first "Meet The Candidate Night" is at Chestnut St. Elementary , and the second a Heritage Middle School. I'm not to crazy about Hal Werner running the second one only for personal reasons and to be honest its not his place to do it. Let Unity in the Community run both and stay out of it Hal.

Well I have heard through the grapewine that a couple of influencial Painesville citizens [unknown] have convienced Hal to step aside, and let Unity in the Community run both candidate nights. Thanks who ever you are.

I viewed the Grant at the Library along with my wife. She is an excecutive at a large corporation, I look at the aleast four inch stack of papers relating to the Grant and asked her what do you think they payed to put that together? Without hesitation at least $10,000 Now I ask who payed the city?

Lake Health is all about money, which is a big reason they put a kabash to any outside medical facilities attempting to purcahse the hospital. I heard rumors Cleveland Clinic was looking to purchase the building...Lake Hospital put a quick stop to that...demolish it..right now.

I bet the hospital is taking alot of the equipment with them when they leave...Its the best part of the hospital.. The rest they will leave!!!!!!!!!! thats why they will not leave it open... daaaa..

common sence people .. think

You heard the clevleand clinic was going to purchase it? I don't believe you. Why should I?

"common sence" or even common senSe if you were to have it is still not a substitute for accurate information or for that matter, an education.

Just to let you know Term, Nowell was on Skinner Ave. yesterday and was told her pen was smoking! Skinner Ave. you know how blighted that street is? This close to election what are they up to? Do you own property on Skinner?

I find that hard to believe also Lake Health wants ZERO competition for your hospital stay, that's why there called "not for profit" GM could take lessons from this bunch.
On another note you ever wonder what the Hospital System would have paid a consultant or Law Firm to do what the city did for them for Free?
Badger... as long as theres no regulations or oversite on Hospital Groups and Insurance Companies your HEALTHCARE DOLLARS WILL JUST ESCALATE.

I was at the HOLA meeting last night and noticed some of the candidates for council and school board but no current members. The Chief said they wanted to hear from the community at the first meeting, our elected officials ARE part of our community. Maybe they don't realize what's going on here?

It was good to see all races in the room and hear that everyone has the same concerns-no matter what color they are. Hopefully this will continue to grow and make a difference.

Ok, Noelle, we know you read this blog. Who are you trying to get back at now? We know it can't be just that you are finally trying to do your job. You have a vengeance against someone now or you would just be sitting on your butt at the office. Come clean. Who is your target now?

I'm glad you think someone reads the blog. but the only person she probably knows is me, I don't want to be the "target" again!

If that meeting was for the community leaders where was council? where was the city manager, and members of the school administration? I agree with you Term if theres was no Priest or clergy from St. Marys who will guide the hispanic children.

5:37am anonymous, what candidates for council and school board were at the HOLA meeting? As far as I know, none of them were there.

5:49 am, why do you think it is Noelle trying to get back at someone, ever consider maybe it is someone higher up giving instructions and she has to carry them out to keep her job?

Could even be a council person, her direct boss, almost anyone that has a higher authority.

At September 23, 2009 at 9:30 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

May I ask what Noelle has to do with this. I would like to ask 5:49how do you know she reads this or that she sits on her but where is your proof or facts????

As far as the cleveland clinic goes I work there. at this time they are considering many options they are looking at Akron/Summit Co. and some sites in Lake Co., however it will be a long time in coming as they still have yet to break ground on the Twinsburg site. I would not count on them coming anytime soon.

Two were present, Running for council Tony Gagliardi, and Steve Costell who is running for school board. Both were in attendance I spoke with both of them. Total there was over 50 people at the meeting .

9:30am, where is my proof? Just look around Painesville north of Rt. 20, Noelle's territory, and can you honestly say she is doing her job?

5:49 Lori DiNallo lives on Skinner Ave. Now watch who comes in to save the day? Hint; it won't be her.

9:30 I'm to look north of Rt. 20 thats proof. Have you seen this women sitting on her butt? At this point I think I could go on any street and find a violation does that mean everyone is not doing their jobs??? Unless you have some concrete proof please stop bringing her up, did she cite you and not your neighbor??? What does she have to do with Terms post?

9:41 really you are quite sad for your constant posting of the same comment. Please explain how Terms posts make him look sad?? I fail to see how Terms stirs things up. Really cause he has made the city change their mind from one of his posts or City Counsel took his advice or sided with him. At least he is doing something.

First Nowell the building code lady. I believe she acts at the direction of her boss along with the CM and asst.CM. If you feel you are not being treated fairly call your councilman or one of the at large councilpeople. I don't think she sits on her but all day and at the same time don't understand the rhyme or reason for picking violators. We all can't be parinoid? A simple violation that some one brought forth would be couches on porches. Why are we counting recreational vehicles and tree limbs behind garages, I question if she even has that right to look without the property owners consent? If she does, lets get rid of the DEA FBI and make everyone a building inspector. When you see some of the violations others as well as my self have pointed out why are we checking some of the things we do. Its almost like a doctor who has a patient with a heart attack, but first lets take care of this hangnail?
The small remark just makes me more deyermined to let people know whats going on, No big deal, it only counts if someone is willing to put their name to the comment.

People on Skinner have told me the DiNallos also got cited? any truth?

At September 24, 2009 at 9:27 AM , Anonymous TERM>> said...

Someone called the house and told me the same thing last night. I think it way off base the DiNallos have one of the nicest homes in town? That said I have no idea whats going on. Even what the city is trying to prove.
On another note I noticed in the paper the passing of former Police Chief George Gasper. If you grew up in Painesville in the 60's and 70's you knew the man. A throwback policeman that always called a spade a spade, was firm but fair.

At September 24, 2009 at 1:04 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

SELECTIVE ENFORCEMENT is what going on as long as you and the city critics complain this will not stop. This is Rita's enforcement tool and she will use it until you and your cronies shut-up about mexicans and trash landlords, and even the citys messes. How can you not get that thru your skull?

At September 24, 2009 at 1:54 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

How about someone working nights and weekends to right some citations. All the commercial vehicles parked in residental driveways.

So Term and all of should shut-up and not point real issues in this city. Really???? The trash landlords and illegals are issues the city needs to deal with. 1:04 if people never spoke up there would be no change and you get tha through your skull?

Fed-up Painesville resident

At September 24, 2009 at 4:55 PM , Anonymous TERM>> said...

Did you leave the word"us" out? Your point is well taken . Truely the only thing that can be done is for about 50 or so people show-up at a council meeting and tell the council what you expect them to focus on and call off the CM's dogs.
Hate to say I agree with 1:04 but this tactic has worked in the past and there no reason to think it won't work again. Someone called me with a question and I asked what they did? They said they called city hall for an explanation. I told him over the phone that was a mistake? I told him he laughed, sure enough they came out the next day and found another violation. He thinks I'm physic. No just know how they operate. They will operate like this until some of us explain the 350 here work for the 17,000 and not the other way around.
Sad fact the City Managers not going to change. So I guess we have to change the City Manager. Who are you voting for in November?

At September 24, 2009 at 5:25 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Yes I did Term sorry I was typing fast. I was somewhat shocked that someone would say shutup and let things as they are? That by far has to be one of the dumbest comments I have ever seen on here. I guess this person missed history class ahh the Revolutionary War we gained Independence from taxes and England then there was the Civil War I could go on and on but I think you get my point. Maybe people should of just let Hitler continue to kill millions because it was really not our business. When you say nothing Hitlers happen end of story.

At September 24, 2009 at 7:21 PM , Anonymous TERM>> said...

Sorry, You lost me. The building department is a long long universe away from what your talking about. Maybe I misunderstand your point?

At September 24, 2009 at 8:36 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Meaning this it may seem like to 1:04 you should just be quite and let certain people run wild. I often wonder what people said sitting around a table w/Hitler I'm sure people said nothing and let it go and look what that turned into. Again look at the illegal issue in this city in the beginning it was live and let live and for the most part no one said word, now its and issue because its affecting education and the city in general and this person would like all of us to just stop. Where do you think Painesville will be in say 3 or 4 years. Everything starts small and then grows. that is my point Term I think the city is at turning point and its either going to be for the good of the city or the bad of the city. But letting go and saying nothing is not an option unless 1:04 gains from doing nothing concerning the current issues.

At September 25, 2009 at 7:36 AM , Anonymous TERM>> said...

Everytime I hear "Hitler" I just think bad analogy. As far as comparing this to the illegal problem in Painesville I understand what your trying to get across. I just believe that train has left the station and we are way past the tipping point. There here, we let them come and stay here, we made it pretty clear they can do as they wish, we will even hookup utilities for them. This did not occur last year this has been going on for at least 15 years. Now the schools have additional problems along with the general quality of life in town. Ask Selma Hall if she expected these issues in her golden years.
County Commissioners meeting was very interesting Thursday all about some stupid card that should not me honored. Ms. Dahlberg was explaining the wonderful reasons why illegals finance this country?
A fact I am checking into now is that one of the County Commissioners has a close family member that owns a nursery in Madison that employees illegals. Maybe this is all starting to make sense?

At September 25, 2009 at 8:07 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

What a lot of these people need to do is lighten up on the local government and start being outraged at our representatives in the Federal Government.

Every local city that has tried fixing the illegal problem has gotten beat up over it because immigration is a Federal issue, yet the Federal level has done nothing.

What is happening is because of the Federals doing nothing it is now starting to develop into ethnic hate and prejudice.

Everyone on here that complains of illegals should be complaining to our federal reps every week!

At September 25, 2009 at 8:39 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Just because we let this happen doesn't mean we can't take measures to correct this. It just will be harder now than stopping this 15 years ago. And allowing Dahlberg to spout her nonsense and get away with it is insane. The matricula card is not valid and Mexico will not even accept it. Mexico issues it, unverifiable, just so their people can get benefits in the US, but it cannot be used in Mexico for even a bank account because there is no verification that the owner of the card is who it says or is even a real person. The commissioners ought to be ashamed of themselves and the one commissioner with a daughter who owns a nursery with her husband and hires illegals should be held accountable for his actions. And shame on the other two commissioners for going along with this.

At September 25, 2009 at 11:55 AM , Anonymous TERM>> said...

8:07 Great point, but what if the local governments are sending Senators letters telling them how wonderful the illegals are in Painesville and other communities are doing the same, telling them to get them out of the shadows, and bring them into the main stream? Do you think we are the only town with a Veronica Dahlberg?
When I watched how council and the administration handled that situation I knew it was time for a major overhaul. All solutions start local.
Also If you are a public offical and you are aware one of your close relatives is breaking the law, you should turn him in or aleast resign.

At September 25, 2009 at 12:00 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Lighten up on the locals? How many times do you think Painesville officals ever formally complained? I bet ZERO!

At September 25, 2009 at 12:06 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

thats my point Term 15yrs ago you never thought this city would be were it is. Yes we have turned a corner and going back is not an options, but where here because no one real said a word that long ago and let it go. We can complain all we want but until we tell those people no more and public opinion says no more nothing will ever changes and since everyone is so concerned about being politcally correct I dont see anything changing anytime soon. My fear is one of theses day someone will take the law into their own hands.

Maybe some facts should be brought forward. Aztlan [NOA] read what this group is all about.
La reconquista find out what this plan intails
Raza More good news.
Its not that we haven't seen the signs we just ignore them.

The only reason Mark Gilson is so cozy with Dahlberg is that he is hiring illegals. He was at the commissioners meeting to support Dahlberg and the matricula card. Now think about this. A legal immigrant does not need a matricula card. They have other legal identification. Only an ILLEGAL needs a matricula card. so why is Gilson supporting this? Why are the Commissioners. Because they hire or have children who hire illegals. Repeat --- only ILLEGALS need a matricula card. Everyone should boycott Gilson Gardens.

At September 25, 2009 at 1:37 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

12:39 and that is my point. Someone posted earlier we should stop talking about and get it through our skulls. This Nation in general has ingnored the issue. The only change will come when we as a nation so no more. The person who posted earlier wanted you me and anyone else citing this issue to stop talking about it. Well no one said a word for years and no one talked about it we just sat by and let it happen and now we are paying the price and when you me or anyone else speaks up we are demonized for doing so and I personally have come to the point where I am ok with it. If you came here illegally then you need to be deported I dont care if your child is a us citizen I agree take away the citizenship and send them back.

If a lake County Commissioner has a relative that owns a nursery, and we all know these nurseries hire immigrants, that should be a conflict of interest when it comes to the Metricula Card. Perhaps the Lake County Commissioners should be investigated like the Cuyahoga County Commissioners are! Who knows what is going on there. Legal immigrants have documents and identification, illegal aliens do not so they use Matricula Cards. What is so difficult for these Commissioners to understand? Resind the resolution, do what is best for the people of Lake County, and stop adding to the problem which is always having a blind eye when it comes to illegal aliens!

I feel the time has come to put this subject to rest. The best ay to do this is put the pressure on the stumbling blocks ". The politicians ". Local; State ,and Federal levels.
I believe the problem has reached a dangerous level and we need help exposing corruption in all three levels of our government listed above. We need research and exposure from strong groups and not citizens who are punished for bringing up the issue of illegals.
Communications is the answer.Newspapers;Television and F.B.I. Citizens of Painesville have had enough.Corruption in our city is no different than what is happening to our friends a little west from us.I feel now is the time to call in the dogs. All of them. F.B.I.; Newspapers willing to print the truth and television.ie 48 Hours; 60 Minutesetc.

At September 27, 2009 at 6:15 AM , Anonymous TERM>> said...

4:29 I don't know about corruption, but when 3 or 5 people show up at a council meeting and only see a few question anything. If I was running the city I would feel pretty secure things are well in hand. You have those meetings to voice your concerns where are all you people? If you want things different in Painesville you have to let them know. Demand change, by there actions in the last few months instead of listening there pushing back to get everyone to shutup. We don't need newspapers, FBI, 60 minutes all you need is people that care.
