This is not a fact. Maybe that is the problem with this site. People don't know what facts really are. A fact is something that has actual existence or a piece of information presented as having objective reality.
A woman CAN walk the street in Painesville without getting "harassed by mexicans". People of other races may "harass" women as well as hispanics. Men have an equal propensity to "harass" women regardless of the color of their skin. Racism - a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race. This claim is not in actual existence nor is it presented as having objective reality. The people who post things like this disgust me. I can only hope that by disclaiming and denouncing a statement like this may I be able to be distinguished from these people. The people who espouse her views or defend her or to some extent fail to renouce her views may want to consider the reflection her companionship has on them.

The Hospital Administation Building was cut out of the JEDD agreement so those people working in that building will not be taxed. Only staff that works in the Hospital will be charged the JEDD tax. Please before you call people names get your facts. I am sure Concord or City Hall can verify this fact. This fact was also mentioned at the County Commissioners Meeting Thursday.

Regardless of who is beig taxed, we should try and tax whoever we can because if not we will see no money. Last I checked doctors still make alot more than I do and have a higher average income than our tax base as it exists now. I have not talked to anyone officially but I did study the JEDD quite a bit when it was first proposed and approved. Here are a few "facts".
1. The JEDD was already advertised for its public hearing and anyone it effects that doesn't like it should have spoken up at that time.
2. Written into the original document was the rights and procedure for either city or township to add or subtract property parcels with the others agreement. ....so this probably won't be the last change we see, as the area develops it will be adjusted.
Now, just some possible scenarios why it was changed.In the original agreement besides the wording for Painesville to supply water and electric (yes, for all you complainers, gee, the city is going to make money off this!)the original document also included wording that the city would conduct a feasibility study for extending the electric. In the final document that wording was eliminated and now both entities have voted to eliminate a parcel.
IS IT POSSIBLE? we need to ask more questions, but maybe it had nothing to do with the parcel being the hospital admin building but instead it might be it required too much cost, or required a substation, etc. and the feasibility study determined it would not work in the JEDD agreement for pricing structure.
In either case the residents of the city should be pleased because our council and administration by working to pass this have at least recouped a portion of what we will loose when the hospital leaves.

$115,000 a year and an assistant is a bit steep even in the corporate world. If this city were thriving and folks were standing in line to buy houses and open businesses I would not begrudge a 6 figure salary.
I suggest you drive around Painesville and open your eyes; I don't see much thriving here except the store selling; "For Rent" and "For Sale" signs.
I have watched the City Managers salary go up but a city go down. What happened to the days when you were awarded on merit not longevity.

Don't think they put in 5 hrs per week.

I don't think he was accused of a crime, but it is possible to do something wrong that is not worthy of arrest. Depends on your standards of right and wrong. I personally think there is an overuse of the legal system but also an underappreciation for what is socially acceptable behavior, so maybe they go hand in hand.

all of this that is being metioned about mr. murphy at the event last summer, was mr. murphy was asking mr. fountain for some support for the people on lucille street you had their back yards taken away by the new school being built. he was speaking to mr, fountain, only, noone else. but, he had also talked to mr.hada, and mr. horvath and the school board previous to talking to mr. fountain, to try and get some help for the people on lucille ave. WE ARE ALL STILL WAITING, CHECK CHANNEL 96, MURPHY IS STILL TRYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LUCILLE.
This whole thing with murphy came out after the election not during and at Murphy's prompting. I won't trust hada either if he lied at all. Maybe the truth should come out. But to be honest I have not been able to ascertain it from this blog. Murphy - What happened? Those who saw it - Can you give us a detailed account of it? What does Rita say about it?
I disagree, it should be in the past. This next election should be about who can do the best for the city and that doesn't seem to be those in office. I think the focus should be on the land bought for 250,000 or other decisions that weigh on issues important to all of Painesville not just some personal thing between a couple people.
I agree with JT and admire his posts. Lets turn this thing back into the positive.
Goto a Council Meeting and ask why that land was purchased, just maybe if they were questioned they would think more before they asked.$84,000 for an assistant? Whats that 2 more policemen? We realy have to start asking.
