" ONE OF THESE NIGHTS" eagles

What turns on your lights

Glenn Frey

RE- APPOINTMENTS : BZA, Civil Service, Parks and Recreation Commission. Never realized William Horvath sat on the Civil Service Board?

Everyone recognized for their Chamber of Commerce Award

Provided for the Issuance and Sale of $2,250,000 Notes (loans) left on second reading.

Yes we purchased the salt.

Bids for new water lines, approved. Yes I owe someone an apology the streets mentioned will also be paved.

Now the Refuse contract. The City of Painesville pays the HIGHEST rate for Refuse pick-up in Lake County..An example:
Eastlake Republic Disposal  $14.93 a month unlimited.
Painesville WM $22.03 a month unlimited.

The reason given was that we have a high number of renters and a high number of delinquent's. So if your a good citizen you are being punished by other people living in our community. So Painesville.

I understand the reason for 'unlimited' just drive around the town and look at all the refuse left on the tree lawn.

At the same time an $8.00+ amount means we are paying $96.00 a year more than another community for the same service? $96.00 x 5 years =$480.00 over 5 years. Just to pick-up garbage

Life sometimes isn't fair but as a rule if you use more you should be expected to pay more. Some Cities even provide a Senior discount.

Everyone knows my distain for Waste Management, I seem to have some valid reasons besides cost. First can anyone explain why WM must do pick-up on Mentor Ave. during rush hour? Same with Chestnut St. They seem to do as they please. Will they be required to repair curbs they destroy? I for one still don't understand the billing system. Don't try calling I don't believe they do either. To finish please no more $48,000 deals. No matter how you explain it WE paid for it! My hope is that Republic, Kimble  or other's look into this contract. The attitude with WM must change to secure the business.

Sidewalks? It appears an idea thrown around by the administration you must notify the city if you plan to sell your home.  I guess they want your sidewalks repaired  before you sell. Along with an Inspectionof your home and property. Whatever you do don't look out into the street or curbs or sewer drains that's Painesville City responsibility.

Randy Bruback gave an interesting presentation of the Water Pollution Control Department. He even showed us how it could be operated from his I phone. Great can't wait for some six grader at Heritage to Hack into his system.

Tomorrow at 5:30 PM the council will have an organizational meeting {with many items on the agenda ) Paul Hach and Jim Fodor should be thanked for putting this meeting together. This is serious business.

Things I learned yesterday;

Two Corinthians walked into a bar called Liberty.

Tina Fey will have another go at the Palin machine! Talk about ramble I thought it was Tina.

The high number of delinquents should not be an issue since last year they allowed WM to change all billing to the owner of record and NOT the person living in a house.

If WM has/had such a delinquency problem in Painesville, why on Earth would they want the contract again?
That tells me that there isn't a real problem at all.
BTW, does/can anyone from the City verify any of this? Shouldn't they be able to?

Bill Horvath is on the Civl Service Board, Morley Library Board of Trustees, Senior Citizen Center Board of Trustees,Lake County Democratic Precinct Committeeman,Lake County Democratic Executive Board and The Painesville Safety Forces Foundation. He also does a great deal volunteer work helping those with substance abuse problems. If you ask me, he should be Citizen of the Year!

Just a couple thoughts:

It seems like someone should be investigating the WM kickbacks to the city on the backs of the citizens.

The city had better not start their proposed idea of inspections of sidewalks, house and property when a home goes up for sale. They just need to shut up and go away and quit screwing us. It's not our fault they have gotten our city into these multi-million, multi-year scams and wasted all of our money, and they need to quit trying to scalp the citizens to pay for it. That's enough already, and it is none of their business when I sell my house. Enough already. Get the money from Joe Hada and Rita McMahon; they're the former city leaders who got us into a lot of these messes. Oh, and Bill Horvath, Abby Delamotte...who else?...bill them. This isn't Russia, so quit trying to run it like it is. Next there will be a breathing charge, and they'll charge extra for breathing outside, since it is city air and not your house air. Give me a break.

I thought Mr. "Agent Orange" took care of that problem. He handed out tickets to every owner of a cracked sidewalk years abo. What's to stop the city from doing that again?

Those plans sound like current City of Euclid selling your house can be expense there. I thought Painesville tried to run that idea before, but the land lords stopped it. The name Silver rings a bell. How about you?

10:49 Yes they said they did and that's also what the county told them. They put all the rates up when the city manager was talking about the bid process.
1:26 I don't have a problem with Bill Horvath. We actually should have more people involved as he is. Just sometimes I happen to disagree with him.
2:32 There is no way I would purchase a house without an inspection. There are qualified people who do that for a living. Why the city want's to be involved is a mystery.
3:13 According to someone on council we stopped doing sidewalk inspection in 2010.

Waste mgmt was a no-show today. No email, or any notice! In fact their website states that pick up would be on regular day, regardless of Martin Luther King day. What's up with that fine customer service?

At January 20, 2016 at 5:07 PM , Anonymous TERM>> said...

4:45 I know some residents were informed with a robo call that pick-up will be a day later. Many must have received this call as many on Wednesday pick-up did not have the bins out today. I believe this is due more to the weather and not with Martin Luther King Day.
I guess the question is will they be a day late Thursday and Friday?

I heard for years that the high number of people stiffing the city over utilities were mostly the illegals. But, yes, now that the city and WM have tied the bill to the property owner and not the renter, that is a mute point, no?

There needs to be a way to pay the new CM for all of his wants, needs and overspending and someone has found a way to do so. All on the backs of us legal city residents. The transients from Leon don't really care because they can just pack up, move along and start debts again.

I can only assume that the city wants to inspect houses and property before a sale so they can gouge the citizens some more. Let's see, if something, or many things, don't pass their inspections (and if you've ever had to deal with this city and inspections, you will know what a nightmare that is), then I am assuming they can make you fix things, which would probably take a permit, which costs money, and then more inspections, etc. And they wonder why nobody wants to more here? Look at our illegal population; has anyone forgotten we just had a murder, etc. because of it? Look at how our schools are suffering because of it. Want to move here with those scores with schools that are struggling with non-English speakers?...Not to mention the dumbing down of the scores and teachings to accommodate them. Then you have this ridiculous city you have to deal with which has always been insane -- at least since I moved here 20 years ago, and now is 1,000 times worse, and then they wonder why people aren't flocking to our city. Let me tell you, with the reputation of the schools even 20 years ago, I didn't move here until my last child had graduated from another school district. At any rate, gouging citizens for more money must be the motive; just look what they are letting Waste Management get away with at the expense of all the business and home owners here.

11:04. Sarah Palin is an idiot; it was kind of you to take it easy on her.

But I'm still voting for Trump, and I doubt she'll dissuade anyone from voting for him that wants to. Too much is at stake. Hopefully he'll get her into the background soon. Apparently people even pay her to speak; there's just no accounting for some things, and that is one of them.

12:46 Those people? They were here long before the new city manager.
4:20 If I purchase a house or someone wants to purchase mine I expect them to hire a professional inspector. I know I would . I agree the city should take care of the 'City' and leave the rest to residents. It's not like they have a great record, look at the streets? Yes after items like the vacant property ordinance it appears to be another money maker. Question on these point of sale inspections would the city be liable for missed items?
5:36 Sarah Palin No question on your part of Trumps of bringing her on board?
Palin's remark of blaming President Obama for her son's PTSD she's so far off the wall. Maybe her sons problem's started when you named him Track? What next it's Obama's fault Bristol's pregnant again? Trump's judgment should be in question. This really is just a show. Right?

Along with other things that are wrong in this City, have you been on Williams St lately?
Wow is about all I can say. That road is just awful.
The City fathers should really worry more about things that they should be doing rather than worry about individual home sales.

5:36 I guess I spoke to soon.
Palin's latest
Palin said that Obama insured her defeat in 2008 just like he has defeated so many other great Americans and her family has paid the price.
I couldn't help thinking if I had been elected Vice-President Bristol and Willow wouldn't have gotten into that drunkin brawl and Track wouldn't have threatened his girlfriend and whatever. Thanks Obama!
Trump who appeared with Palin at the rally stepped offstage after a few minutes explaining he could "only take that voice so long"

Another problem with the WM contract is each owner pays for two large totes and one recycle tote. Only a small percentage of people actually use the two large totes so the city pays WM for doing nothing.

Given the provision for two totes, why the litter? Rather than paying WM to do nothing, WM could leave fliers reminding those properties with a lot of stuff flowing over the one big tote that they can have another tote for no additional cost.

My household has never filled the large tote and once in a while fills the recycle tote. I don't need two large totes. I'd like to use the big tote for recycling and the small tote for rubbish and pay a lower rate. With all the technology available I don't see why the responsible people can't come up with a better way to do this.

At January 23, 2016 at 4:56 PM , Anonymous TERM>> said...

7:26 My feeling is for the unlimited is the number of times in the past few years the neighborhood flooding and it's only a type of insurance to most residents. Most residents in town could get by with one tote and one recycle bin.
All angles should be investigated so residents get the most for their money.
5:21 Be honest you thought about it for a minute?

Here's 5 people that tragically died who had involvements with the Clintons. There's a total of about 48-50, but I'll just print 5:

1. James McDougal - Clinton's convicted Whitewater partner died of an apparent heart attack while in solitary confinement. He was a key witness in Ken Starr's investigation.

2. Mary Mahoney - A former White House intern was murdered July 1997 at a Starbucks Coffee Shop in Georgetown. The murder happened just after she was to go public with her story of sexual harassment in the White House.

3. Vince Foster - Former White House councilor, and colleague of Hillary Clinton at Little Rock's Rose Law firm. Died of a gunshot wound to the head, ruled a suicide.

4. Ron Brown - Secretary of Commerce and former DNC Chairman. Reported to have died by impact in a plane crash. A pathologist close to the investigation reported that there was a hole in the top of Brown's skull resembling a gunshot wound. At the time of his death, Brown was being invested, and spoke publicly of his willingness to cut a deal with prosecutors.

5. C. Victor Raiser II and Montgomery Raiser, major players in the Clinton fund raising organization. Died in a private plane crash in July 1992.

5:21 Wonder why you left out the word alleged? I understand you probably hate the Clintons and these deaths in some way all make sense to you? Fine show the proof or keep it to yourself. Even the Clintons couldn't cover something like this up. What do they have a private air force to shoot planes out of the sky? I know you believe this crap only because you want to.
On another note I went to see the movie 13 hours odd not one mention of Hillary? and played to a total of 5 movie goer's.

6:55. I didn't say they killed them, so I don't need the word alleged. I just said these are people that tragically died who had involvements with the Clintons. Here's 5 more. And as far as Benghazi goes, those people begged her for months for help, telling her they were not safe. Unfortunately they were right. And unfortunately she did nothing to protect them. Then sat at the hearings, flailing her arms, and asking what does it matter now what happened? The guys who wrote the book did not want it politicized, and have spoken out since the movie, saying they were upset that both political sides were using Benghazi to their own benefit.

6. Paul Tulley - Democratic National Committee Political Director found dead in a hotel room in Little Rock on September 1992. Described by Clinton as a "dear friend an trusted advisor."

7. Ed Willey - a Clinton fund raiser. Found dead Nov. 1993 deep in the woods in VA of a gunshot wound in the head. Ruled a suicide. Ed Willey died on the same day his wife Kathleen Willey claimed Bill Clinton groped her in the oval office in the White House. Ed Willey was involved in several Clinton fund raising events.

8. Jerry Parks - Head of Clinton's gubernatorial security team in Little Rock. Gunned down in his car at a deserted intersection outside Little Rock. Park's son said his father was building a dossier on Clinton. He allegedly threatened to reveal this information. After he died, the files were mysteriously removed from his house.

9. James Bunch - Died from a gunshot suicide. It was reported that he had a "black book" of people which contained names of influential people who visited prostitutes in Texas and Arkansas.

10. James Wilson - Was found dead in May 1993 from an apparent hanging suicide. He was reported to have ties to Whitewater.

Term 6:55. You heard the hearings. Those people begged for help and told Hillary that they needed help. The reason there has been so many hearings is because she refuses to answer the questions. She just keeps saying what does it matter now. You know this. The government is trying to find out where the breakdown was so it doesn't happen again, but she is guilty and won't cooperate with information. Then after it happened, she started lying about it immediately. She told her daughter and others it was terrorists, then told others it was because of a video or something, as proven by her emails. It was to cover up the fact that she had been made aware of the danger and refused to help those poor people. She's an incompetent sleaze ball liar. The truth is that they begged her for help; she didn't give it, ignoring their desperate pleas; and people are dead because of it. Thank God for the brave men that saved some of those people when it wasn't even their job. I think one of them died, too, didn't they, along with some of the people at the post. You are such a blind Democrat, that you can't even tell the truth about this one episode. Again, her lies are even on email, but you can't even admit that she is lying? Vote for her and watch her do more of the same and watch our country finish going under. But if you can't even see the truth when the truth is in her own emails...on even that one point, then what kind of a vote is it? Answer: it's a blind, dangerous vote. At least open your eyes and see who you are voting for.

1:59/3:53 Then charge the woman please! I'm still trying to find the smoking gun to 9/11 Seems some one was warned about that coming? I love you pure at heart Republicans. I bet I can connect people dying to all 44 Presidents. Now speaking of guns and coincidences. John Hinckley you know the goof that shot President Reagan? Close family friends with the Bush's Had dinner with one of the Bush sons around the time of the attempt. Look it up does it mean anything? Bush family and Bin Laden family in joint business venture. Does it mean anything? After 9/11 who were the only people allowed to fly and out of the country the Bin Laden family. Does it mean anything? Can you imagine what you would be going on if we substituted Clinton for Bush in any of these remarks? I don't think the Bush's had anything to do with the things I just mentioned they are just coincidences of being a well known family. But then I don't show hatred for that family. You can spin things all you want me I will wait to see if Sec. Clinton is charged and if she is she must face the music. When it comes to the Clintons some of you have a habit of counting your chickens before they hatch. I guess people have to have conspiracy's?

This is 5:21 and 1:59. First of all, I'm not a Republican. Secondly, you won't find me defending Bush. His government even had repeated warnings from flight instructors that they were teaching men that were saying they didn't need to learn how to land. His government completely ignored these repeated warnings. Here's a few more:

11. Kathy Ferguson, ex-wife of Arkansas Trooper Denny Ferguson was found dead in May, 1994, in her living room with a gunshot to her head. It was ruled a suicide even though there were several packed suitcases, as if she were going somewhere. Danny Ferguson was a co-defendant along with Bill Clinton in the Paula Jones lawsuit. Kathy Ferguson was a possible corroborating witness for Paula Jones.

12. Bill Shelton - Arkansas State Trooper and fiancée of Kathy Ferguson. Critical of the suicide ruling of his fiancée , he was found dead in June, 1994 of a gunshot wound, also ruled a suicide, at the grave site of his fiancée.

13. Gandy Baugh - Attorney for Clinton's friend Dan Lassater, died by jumping out of a window of a tall building on January, 1994. His client was a convicted drug distributor.

14. Florence Martin - Accountant & sub-contractor for the CIA, was related to the Barry Seal Mena Airport drug smuggling case. He died of three gunshot wounds. RULED AS A LIKELY SUICIDE.

15. Suzanne Coleman - Reportedly had an affair with Clinton when he was an Arkansas Attorney General. Died of a gunshot wound to the back of the head, ruled a suicide. Was pregnant at the time of her death.

16. Paula Grober - Clinton's speech interpreter for the deaf from 1978 until her death on December, 9, 1992. She died in a one-car accident.

17. Danny Casolaro - Investigative reporter. Investigating Mena Airport and Arkansas Development Finance Authority. He slit his wrists, apparently, in the middle of his investigation.

18. Paul Wilcher - Attorney investigating corruption at Mena Airport with Casolaro and the 1980 "October Surprise" was found dead on a toilet June 22, 1993 in his Washington DC apartment. Had delivered a report to Janet Reno three weeks before his death.

19. Jon Pamell Walker - Whitewater investigator for Resolution Trust Crop. Jumped to his death from his Arlington, Virginia apartment balcony August 15, 1993. He was investigating the Morgan Guarantee scandal.

20. Barbara Wise - Commerce Department staffer. Worked closely with Ron Brown and John Huang. Cause of death unknown. Died November 29, 1996. Her bruised, nude body was found locked in her office at the Department of Commerce.

And that's not even half.

This is 8:22, and here's some more people who had dealing with/about the Clintons that met an early/unusual tragic end:

21. Charles Meissner - Assistant Secretary of Commerce who gave John Huang special security clearance, died shortly thereafter in a small plane crash.

22. Dr. Stanley Heard - Chairman of the National Chiropractic Health Care Advisory Committee, died with his attorney Steve Dickson in a small plane crash. Dr. Heard, in addition to serving on Clinton's advisory council, personally treated Clinton's mother.

23. Barry Seal - Drug running pilot out of Mena Arkansas, death was no accident.

24. Johnny Lawhorn Jr. - Mechanic, found a check made out to Bill Clinton in the trunk of a car left at his repair shop. He was found dead after his car had hit a utility pole.

25. Stanley Huggins - Investigated Madison Guarantee. His death was a purported suicide and his report was never released.

26. Hershell Friday - Attorney and Clinton fund raiser died March 1, 1994 when his plane exploded.

27. Kevin Ives and Don Henry - Known as "The boys on the track" case. Reports say the boys may have stumbled upon the Mena Arkansas airport drug operation. A controversial case, the initial report of death said, due to falling asleep on railroad tracks. Later reports claim the two boys had been slain before being placed on the tracks. Many linked to the case died before their testimony could come before a Grand Jury.

THE FOLLOWING PERSONS HAD INFORMATION ON THE IVES/HENRY CASE:

28. Keith Coney - Died when his motorcycle slammed into the back of a truck, July 1988.

29. Keith McMaskie - Died stabbed 113 times, Nov, 1988 (PROBABLY ALSO A SUICIDE).

30. Gregory Collins - Died from a gunshot wound January 1989.

31. Jeff Rhodes - He was shot, mutilated and found burned in a trash dump in April 1989.

33. James Milan - Found decapitated. However, the Coroner ruled his death was due to "natural causes." (THAT MAY ALSO HAVE BEEN A SUICIDE.)

34. Jordan Kettleson - Was found shot to death in the front seat of his pickup truck in June 1990.

35. Richard Winters - A suspect in the Ives/Henry deaths. He was killed in a set-up robbery July 1989.

And there's more.

It would be enlightening for Americans to know just how much of our hard-earned money is given away to foreign countries on a yearly basis. Not to mention the interest we have to pay on that money, because we're broke and have to borrow money from other countries to give it away. Then add in how much we spend on illegal immigrants in this country and their children. Then add in how much we spend on legal immigrants who come to this country and then get immediately on benefits. A large part of those immigrants will have families and offspring on benefits for generations to come. But the government doesn't care about any of this. It isn't THEIR money. We cannot continue to have a wholesale giving away of our country. We're almost done in; this needs to stop now. Right now...while we still have a country that is not third world in every way imaginable. Americans just keep struggling without giving any thought to what is happening to all their hard-earned tax dollars, and keep voting in a way that will continue and continue and continue in the same direction doing the same things. It has to stop now; there is no time left.

I can see why he wouldn't like the list, but it's an interesting list, and some people will want to see the rest of it. Term, the die-hard Democrat, is apparently made uneasy by the list, and doesn't want people to see the rest of it, so is diverting attention. It's just a list of people who have had untimely and unfortunate deaths who have had dealings with the Clintons on some level. Nobody is saying the Clintons killed them. Term 7:48 this is 7:50. You don't have to convince me of anything about the Amish if you are going to say it is unfair to the rest of Americans how the Amish are treated. I have always believed that if they do not want to fight in our wars, etc., then they shouldn't be here -- they should be in a country that doesn't fight wars. I'm sure almost everyone who is called into service for the armies of America, when there are drafts, don't want to go, and would rather not kill or be killed. And I don't think they pay taxes, either, do they? At any rate, you don't have to convince me of anything with the Amish. I think it's vastly unfair that they get to skirt being true, participating Americans but have all the benefits of our country. I'm not an expert on what they do or do not do, but I know they do not fully participate because of their religion, and I don't think the rest of Americans should carry any load for them.

I don't know where you got your information but you are incorrect about the Amish in a number of ways.
First, they do pay all the taxes that they are required to pay. You really need to research that better.
Second, most of the country should be as self supporting and as reliant on their own as the Amish are.
Amish take care of their health and home insurance "in-house".
I am not aware of any Amish who collect unemployment unless they might be entitled to it.
Do Amish use any of the food stamp (regardless of what it is called today) programs?
There are far more people abusing the "system" in this country than the Amish.
Besides, would you trade your life for their way of living just to avoid serving in the military (which is voluntary by the way)?
I think not.

9:28 You might be right? I received my information from someone associated with Geauga County Health and Human Services? I presently have no real answers but more and more questions.

9:28, this is 4:31. You need to calm yourself down; you have attacked me without warrant. I did not say the Amish did not pay taxes; I said I didn't think so, and it was in the form of a question, not a fact. I also said they don't serve in the military when there is a draft, clearly acknowledging that there is a volunteer army now, but that does not take away from the fact that they do not serve when there is a draft. You go on to say that the Amish don't use unemployment insurance unless they are entitled to it. That is the same as any other American, and it has nothing to do with anything I would be concerned about; if they earned it, they can use it. And you're an expert on their Food Stamp use, or lack of it? Are you?...you have question marks on some things, and I sincerely doubt you are an expert on the Amish, but you are speaking like you are. I, on the other hand, said I was NOT an expert on the Amish, but my pet peeve is that they refuse to serve in our military when there is a draft. All other Americans must go, even though they don't want to, and THEIR Bibles also say don't kill. So maybe YOU should get YOUR facts straight. I mean, being the Amish expert that you are, and all. My main point was, they do not serve in our military when there is a draft, and they don't, which I think is vastly unfair to the rest of the Americans who must go when called. And I don't give them any passes because they live the way they do; they obviously WANT to live that way, so what does that have to do with dodging the draft?

Term is just trying to get the conversation away from Killary Clinton and the Democrat's love for the illegals and their wholesale giveaway of our country, by bringing up the Amish. Nice deflection.

2:41 Who attacked you? Forget everything just ask yourself how are roads financed? Who uses the roads?
2:44 No one needs to take the conversation away from anyone. If your facts have any merit why has there never been a conviction or at least an indictment? Is it that you and your ilk are that bad or the Clintons that good? You have nothing not even a good smoking gun. But people like you frighten me only because they let you vote.
Here's a hint candidates like Trump and Cruz. Most Democrats view them as gifts from the Heavens. Bring them on the American people as a whole have not been dumbed down that much. Trump can't face Megyn Kelly what's he going to do when faced with a real candidate?
Calls a true Hero John McCain not a hero? This from a 4 time draft dodger. Today he cares about wounded warriors how much did he care before running for President? Cruz offers to donate 1.5 million to wounded warriors to debate him mano to mano? Why not just give the money to wounded warriors? It's called gamesmanship. Your actions are destroying the GOP and good ridden they made you now they have to live with you. Trump promises things he can't deliver on. Watch and See. You think your mad now can't wait to see you in a couple of years if he's elected.
I'd love to sell you a used car!

This is 2:44 to Term 3:21. First of all, I have printed no facts, so you're talking to the wrong person. Secondly, I am not a Republican, so save your breath. And you say I'M mad; man, read your own post. Sorry you blindly love the Democrats and out-of-your-mind hate the Republicans, but it's not MY problem. And you say Trump won't deliver, like anyone else has. He's the best bet, and I hope he wins. Sorry YOU'RE so mad; I think you're just scared your beloved Democrats might lose, so you'll say anything. GO TRUMP.
