" MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE " police

This is a comment that  Donald Howlett sent to the blog. to inform us how the insurance issue works in the court system. Mr. Howlett is a retired Painesville Police Officer as well as an officer of the court. Thank-you for your input.

The Ohio insurance works like this.. You sign a form when you get plates or drivers license. And if you sign and it is not true, you can loose your right to drive and must post a bond type insurance with the state. This type of insurance will let the state know if the policy expires and your driving rights stop. When you go to court if your ticket shows no proof of insurance at the time of the citation was issued you now have to show proof to the judge. If you have no proof then the judge takes your license advises the state. The State then voids all your plates or owners of the car plates, the drivers license and wants a 528 bond.  Then if your car gets stopped your plates are taken by the police and the car towed. This is all on the owner of the vehicle and the driver. I hope that is straight forward and understandable.....DHowlett

I hope this clears things up. The only fault I see with this policy is if your the person that is involved in an accident with an uninsured driver and must file a claim with your insurance company. I have been told you can purchase basic coverage sometimes for as low as $50.00 a month and it sure must be cheaper over the long haul then going through all this?

Also if you have a loan on the vehicle the bank makes sure you are covered.

Watching the Cincinnati- Pittsburgh playoff game I started to think that the WWF/NFL had merged? Saddest part of the game was that Pittsburgh coach Joey Porter received the game ball?

All of that sounds good on the surface BUT it does not stop people from driving with a suspended license or without insurance.

Based on what I have read, I would have to believe that a good percentage of people driving cars on our roads do not have insurance. The question becomes, why is the car not impounded and towed on the spot?

With a State law requiring insurance, there is absolutely no reason that a driver that might cause an accident should be uninsured. If I am the cause of the accident, and I don't have insurance, I stand to lose my car, my house, and whatever else I am sued for. When someone who has nothing causes an accident, there is no consequence because they have nothing to take that is of value.

The system does not work for those who follow the law.

Same as the system doesn't work for legal, law abiding citizens who own guns. The criminals are the ones getting away with it. Where theres a will theres a way.

12:32 - how does the system not work for legal, law abiding citizens who own guns? I understand the criminal part of your statement, but not the first part.

Because the legal law abiding ones are losing their rights more and more. Little by little the government is making it harder for the average person to buy and sell guns yet the criminals will always find a way to get their hands on one and do the most damage. Thanks again Obama, who died and made him supreme ruler of our country?

As for messages, anyone heard about the Chipolte? Undergoing criminal investigation after illness? Paper reports their sales dropped 30 percent and they will be ungergoing a federal investigation by the US attorney Generals office along with the FDA. Due to Norovirus in Boston and California. Plus E coli outbreak that made people sick in 9 states. Though neither USAG and FDA would comment.

Beware I listen to that, but are they saying it was done on purpose or sabotage is involved? As a side not trying to figure out stock prices Chipolte closed yesterday at $454.94 up $26.57? over a 16% increase Agree it is down from it's $700.00+ high but this is unexplainable.
1:53 Sell your gun? Well the terrorists who killed 14 in San Bernardino purchased his weapons from a friend. California law states all gun transfers must be reported. Would it have stopped these people? I don't know but the seller should be charged with murder period. The only thing people seem to be losing are 4th amendment rights.

Beware, Now figure this one out? Chipolte stock went up today $21.64 to $475.94(4.76%) increase. The stock market as a whole lost 390 points? Maybe if they kill a few customers that stock will make it up to $700.00 again. Nothing makes sense anymore. What next Disney filing bankruptcy due to the Star War movie?

As far as the stock market dropping 1,400 points since the beginning of the year could it be fear that Trump might win the election? He has some different views on trade.
Or is it fear Bernie Sanders might win?
