"CAN'T GET NO SATISFACTION" rolling stones

Another Monday under the "Golden Dome"

Well everything was left on first or second reading except for the JEDD approval of an assisted living facility in Concord. It would have been interesting if council would have all voted NO?  Only that it would have not changed anything. I wonder why this even came in front of council?
A question that needed to be asked and wasn't will this new facility have an effect on the nursing homes presently located in Painesville?

Sewer rates are going up. How much, and is the amount compounded? Will after five years will it be an overall 20% increase? Who knew what and when?  left on first reading.

We did the Prairie State dance again this week, seems more and more information comes out. Still no answer of what the city plan is for the power plant in the next five to ten years? They probably don't have a clue. Another thing I noted it seems many people in the electric department seem to believe they work for AMP-OHIO and not the residents of Painesville? How and why is that? Oh, I forgot it's not their money. Ask someone how much AMP has lost financially on this deal?  AMP -OHIO the best idea since sliced bread for the electric power industry.

Another city resident attended last weeks work session and came to council asking  unbiased questions. I will try to post his letter on this site.

Mr. Fodor explained that he wanted people to understand that every member on council was looking out for the city on the PSEC issue not just councilman Flock. The difference that I see is that Flock is trying to divert a train wreck and the other six sit by and hope it doesn't happen.?

Another question about fire truck Tower 2319 seems it's in for repairs again, cylinders issues. I'm starting to think the Boardman Twp. Fire Department somehow got a hold of AMP-OHIO's mailing list?

My best "guessestmation" ( see I can make -up words too)  is that the truck has been in the shop over 45% of the time since we have taken possession of it? Maybe we should just park it down at the power plant? I guess in the long run we really don't need either of them?

Live, work play and pretend you make electricity! It's a Painesville thing.

The fire truck was out of service when the health department burned?

9:45.
I am puzzled about something.
If you don't agree with Term that some things need to be addressed or fixed in Painesville, why do you aggravate yourself by reading his blog?
BTW, it is his blog and he can write whatever he chooses.
Don't agree, start your own. Simple huh?

Cylinders issues?
Engine cylinders issues big $$$$
Hydraulic cylinder issues maybe not so much. Anybody know which it is?
Think about this. We laugh about this truck. Just say for argument, they really needed this truck and couldn't afford a brand new one.
Say a new truck was $500,000 and a used one was $100,000. As long as they don't spend more than say, another $50,000, it makes sense.
Now factor in the down time. Was this truck something needing to be reliable 100% of the time, then we should have bought a new one. And we all know you can always buy a new lemon.

So that's what I'm wondering. Any answers out there? Just the facts mam.

By the way, what is the punishment for beating a woman with socks o rocks? Real jail time I hope.

2:59 Hydraulic cylinders.
Some facts;
Cost of vehicle and repairs shared 50/50 between Painesville/ Concord Twp.
these numbers are estimates and only reflect Painesville's investment.

$42,500 purchase of vehicle
$24,600 in repairs since delivery.

So our cost so far reflects $67,000 not counting these latest repairs.

I also believe we sold the old aerial truck for $25,000 to $35,000

Since put in service it has been out of service 120 days.
Just the facts.

No way can the punishment fit the crime. That's someone's mother daughter sister or wife. Crimes such as these are unexplainable.

One of the biggest defenders of Amp is councilman Deleone. Where did the money come from to pay over 2 million dollars to Amp come from?
The electric reserve fund? Same place all expenses will come from. Then again that's council's and the administrations honeypot not residents. I was better off when I couldn't hear the conversations. Now I see how ignorant some are.
Ms. Jenkins I happy you picked up your wine and flowers now show us results please! Big for sale sign in the window at the wine place!

9:46 Yes Mike is the perfect politician. All the time we were telling him about Meigs County and Painesville owing over $2 million he claimed we don't know that because we haven't received a final bill. Well the bill came due and Mike and the rest paid the money out of the electric reserve fund. AGAIN with the "levelization" bill ask Mike how will that be paid? Mike needs to be a little less lawyering and a little more concern for what Painesville will be facing. I'm happy for Katie too!

Was that a demonstration about Ferguson on the square at noon?
Did they get a permit?

1:54 Hardly, those were some of my tea bag and rally friend's visiting Congressman Joyce's office to proclaim their dissatisfaction with President Obama's Presidential action on immigration.

Interesting? From the Party of NO who gained more control in NOvember NOthing will happen. This Congress will just take symbolic action and they will pat this bunch on the head and send them home. Also I believe our congressman also realizes most people there at his office voted for his opponent in the last primary. See the party heads also see the numbers. One new Latino voter every 30 seconds. NOw that's scary to them!

At December 3, 2014 at 3:22 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Again, you think it's FUNNY that there is a new Latino voter every 30 seconds because it's scary for the REPUBLICANS?

At December 3, 2014 at 6:03 PM , Anonymous TERM>> said...

3:22 NO! What I think is FUNNY is that you believe that congressman and your party will do anything but give you lip service.

RESERVE FUND HONEY POT - Ho Ho being not citizens money. Money paid by all of us, residential and business, on our electric bills was invested and grew quite fast and high.

Have to agree with you Term all their B#$chin' will get zero (NO) results. I think the only option we have is to form a party of our own.

Everything is an illusion here. Gas at the BP $2.89. Gas at Walmart Madison, $2.51. Seriously? Yup, the streets must be paved with gold.

8:45 NO your NOt. Your a DINO Democrat in name only, Like a dinosaur. Save some aggravation for yourself switch sides.
You will feel more comfortable being used.

6:32 Yes many around here are getting tired of $2.99/$2.89. I believe Get-Go (in the township is $2.59. Hey we pay top dollar for electricity why not Gas?

6:28 You know why there is a reserve honeypot? No regulation on Painesville Power and AMP-OHIO either.NO PUCO no nothin'. That' how you screw people on rates. The old adage that Muni power is cheaper is quickly going out the window. The honeypot is pure profit.

Hey Honeypots, where would you get the money to buy anything new? Review the budget, taxpayers voted for 2 levy's - fire & road but not the police. One cant help see all the road repairs going on that's obvious. Fire? What are we getting for our dough? If memory serves me their budget got cut and maybe the only one that was. Can someone explain this one? I'm paying more in taxes but getting less?

At December 4, 2014 at 1:56 PM , Anonymous TERM>> said...

Well let's assume the previous administration didn't put money away to fund infrastructure? Roads, water lines ect.
Time takes it's toll.
Then as the recession hit and we have a new administration in Columbus that cut money sent from state income taxes to different government bodies. It makes the state's balance sheet look wonderful, but it causes local governments to skimp on some projects as well as salaries.
Now Painesville has this "Honeypot" with over presently 15 million dollars in it call the electric reserve fund. This fund can fund anything electrical but NOT roads, sewers wages for police and fire.
What will Painesville do with this 15 million? Well we don't have to worry about power plant workers salaries, we can pay 2 million dollars for our blunders with AMP-OHIO and yes we can build a new sub-station.
Now about that sub-station how convenient will that station be if and when Painesville invades First Energy's area in the Painesville-Concord JEDD?
You can bet that reserve fund will be used there.
We could use those funds to upgrade our own power system or even use it legally to lower Painesville powers customers bills. Wouldn't it be prudent to only have half that amount in reserve? But then we couldn't purchase stupid electric deals anymore. You decide.
Ask your councilman what was the amount in the electric reserve fund in 2009?

Term 7:38, this is 8:45. Who do you think you are? I say I'm a Democrat, and you say I am not. I am a Democrat, and not all Democrats are like you and think it's funny that we are losing our country and our family's and country's money and future to the illegals. Yuck it up. Some Democrats have a brain and can actually think for themselves, and don't have to go along with a party that is out of control. Some Democrats are fighting their party on this issue, unlike you who think it's funny that we are losing our country, and gloat because we are. With you, I think it's a combination of character flaws and immaturity. I think I know if I'm a Democrat or not. I think my party is a frightening embarrassment right now, but I am a Democrat. At least some of the Republicans, at this moment, are trying to save our country from being stolen by the illegals, which is a whole lot more than I can say for you.

3:03 Sorry, Yes I guess I have many character flaws. But I do know when it quacks like a duck, and flies like a duck it's probably a duck.
Now just maybe your a "symbolic" Democrat or Republican many of those around presently.
See how "symbolic" the response from Congress on immigration? Yet somehow this bunch saved a bunch of tax cuts today?
See the GOP take care of those who write the checks. Foot soldiers like you are just to vote. You are the GOP wozzies. Listen to us speak and be around every two years to vote (R). Fear and Anger is a very potent policy. Me, I fear mostly the 1% stealing the country.

And don't anyone BELIEVE I THINK THE DEMS ARE ANGEL'S.
It all comes down to not Red or Blue but who's got the GREEN!

Having spent most of my life as a Democrat (now more an independent or just disillusioned with the whole thing) the party of today and it what it stands for are a long way from the Kennedy years. I voted for Obama twice (mainly due to the alternatives) and am extremely disappointed in his second term.

At December 5, 2014 at 12:04 PM , Anonymous TERM>> said...

I can't disagree.... But what if we had voted for the alternatives?
I believe we would be even more disappointed.

No one should ever vote a straight ticket. You could cheat yourself out of some good legislators.

At December 5, 2014 at 5:17 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

11:25, I am in complete agreement with you. I am a Democrat, but I could have written your post myself -- word for word. Well put.

I think what shocks me the most about Obama is what a good liar he is. I thought that after listening to G. W. Bush spew every lie fed to him by Karl Rove, that we wouldn't have to worry about lying with Obama but he, too, is a smooth liar. I have no respect left for the man, and what he is doing to this country is a sin.

So they are your friends?Tea bag and rally friends? Really, I thought you had nothing to do with them according to other posts, now they are your friends?
And you just keep beating this dead horse don't you? The monies from the electric plant cant be used for anything but electric. I was there when that was explained (several times, several ways) why cant you understand?

At December 6, 2014 at 6:38 PM , Anonymous TERM>> said...

5:56 Tongue in cheek maybe I can only hope they feel the same? Look let's say I know some of them and believe they are good people who we can just say I disagree with. My point all along is they are asking for something that neither party will ever deliver on.
And padding a reserve fund, or paying money out to AMP, or paying people not producing. H@#l we can even steal First Energy customers. Everything but make Painesville Power customers reap a benefit? Why can't you understand?
