"HOUSE WHERE NOBODY LIVES" tom waits

"without love it ain't nothin'

Well even in the bad weather the  Planning Commission met tonight to discuss 239 Mentor Ave. by a 4/0 vote they voted against the demolishing of that home. Although only four residents attended the meeting they all were against the city's plan to go forward with Land Grant funds to tear it down. The house was built in 1836  in the Connecticut Western Reserve style . This doesn't mean the house can't be torndown but it gives the house a reprieve for a year or two. I don't believe the Commission believe the house had any health or safety issues associated with it.

You know I'm not even sure who owns the house presently?

Another Demolishing? Seems Federico/Fast  Auto & Truck has made an application for the use of one trailer to be used as a temporary structure  to be used as an office as he proceeds to the demolition of the structure at 61 South State St. passed.

Final Plat : request for approval- Heisley Park Residential Subdivision- Phase XVI all requirements met except the proposed 5 acres of park land.

Preliminary Plat: request for an extension -Heisley Park Residential Subdivision-Phase XX was tabled.

Health and safety??
That is what the Administration was claiming?
Why is it that I can find a dozen houses in worse condition (think Barnes Ave) and they aren't torn down?

5:39 I believe its the old gas station next to Federico's tie businesses. I guess it's to expand Fast Auto?

5:35 It's a Painesville thing I guess. Now there has to be someone to step forward on this house.

Did anyone notice the price of the Gage House on S.State St. They expect to sell it for over $500,000? What did they pay for it again?

Honestly, what business would go in there for over half a million dollars! I would love to hear ideas from economic development on this one.......

And wasn't there a big black tie ribbon cutting on that building with all the movers and shakers? Where are they now?

That gas station, wonder if it was the Heath Brothers Station at one time. Or is Federico's the old Heath Station?

4:33 The Clydesdale is only visiting to gives rides around Downtown Painesville in the Holiday Season. Sorry you didn't get the memo the city spent money on the ad n the News-Herald.

6:31 the building being torn down was I believe an old SOHIO service station? Does that help, anyone know?
