FOURTH OF JULY 2012

Have a safe and happy fourth . Hope the plans you have made will work out for you.

This is the first time that I can remember {doesn't mean it hasn't happened before}  The Fairport Mardi Gras started before the parade? Parade is Thursday at 7:00pm

My Father used to tell me that if you were born in the United  States or managed to get here, you had won God's Lottery. Take some time Wednesday to thank some of those who that made it possible for you to purchase your ticket.

All said and done havings a Holiday on a Wednesday still sucks!

Something you should ask your Tea Party clowns here today. Ask them why one of there favorite sons Cong. Joe Walsh attacks his opponet Col. Tammy Duckworth, calling her "not a true hero" his words not mine. "What else has she done for us?" he asks.
Ms. Duckworth was a helicopter pilot in Iraq and lost both her legs as well as use in her right arm. Now she challenges him for his seat in Congress and as a true TEA nut this is how he attacks her?
She I believed purchased a lot of lottery tickets for those mentioned in your post.
Joe Walsh for some reason can't seem to pay his child support he owes, on his congressional salary? This story will never be on FOXNUTS will it?
Hate to put a damper on today, but the truth must be known.

Drove past Steele Mansion tonight, the light bulbs in front 6 total, two red, two white, and two blue.
It's these small touches that make me realize we landed a great family to preserve the mansion.

5:11 What post of 4:18 are you refering to?
If you meant 7:48 I didn't want to post it but I viewed his town hall speech where he made these outlandish claims. It's fact so I posted it.
Calling you nuts and clowns might not be the best way for them to get their point across.

Oops, I forgot to ask if anyone knows anything of the McKinley Grove group home coming to PV?
Just read it in todays paper. Please refresh my memory and help with the legalities, but I thought the CM & council had stated at one time no more of these type homes.
I was told if it is zoned properly, there is nothing that can be done but allow them to open up here. I think we have way too many here. Remember the veteran home trying to come in, but was thankfully not allowed. Not that I have anything against veterans, but I see this new home as the same thing only different name.
What gives?

McKinley Grove and what I believe you are confused with was that project slated for Mentor Ave. near Perkins.
This project was approved by council and is run by Extended Housing. I know some of these people and they are a first-class organization.
I believe this project is to be built on the northeast corner os St. Marys Painesville property.

No, I'm not confused. I think the veteran home needed re-zoned, but was not considered to be a good move due to the clientele. What I am confused about is as to why all these type of homes end up here. Go elsewhere.

I know this group requested to build on one of the school properties in South Painesville. State Street I think. The residents didn't want it in their neighborhood. Didn't think it was safe and it got voted down. So they move to the north where they don't care about the residents.

I had no idea this was going on until I read it in the paper. Though I do not live in the North end, they probably had no idea it was coming either. Seems the neighborhood on State St. are on their toes! If I was informed correctly, there was no stopping this project as the land sold to them by the church was zoned properly and they have the right to do as they wish on their land.
But I will say again because I know PC superiors and employees read this---Please do not allow any more of these type businesses here. We have plenty.

5:28 Look in the last couple of weeks I have watched a Brown Derby, A Melt's, Scramblers, 5 Brothers Hamburgers all move or planning to move into Mentor as well as 100 jobs from J & E pistons move there also.
[They must like paying more for utilities and the Coe property has cranes even!]
Ever wonder why, No one comes to Painesville? Look at the mess we managed to get into over the Steel Mansion? What business person in his /her right mind would want to invest her just put up with this administration?
I share your concern but I don't expect to see Michael Symon opening Lolita East here in the near future.
A vistor mentioned to me with such a beautiful college in our town why we didn't have atleast one coffee shop? Great question.
Keep reading that neat magazine the city pays to send out to you, all is prgressing well. And some call me delusional?

Huh? I don't get it? I never mentioned any restaurant or business. My concern is with all the McNutt houses all over this place. If they build it they will come. Is there any truth that the city cannot block a business as long as it has the proper zoning as it would be discriminatory?
I thought I had read here that Michael Symon was interested in coming here but was met with resistance. Is this fact or fiction. ANother rumor was a coffee shop was to open in the old ESCO store front. What happened there too?

At July 12, 2012 at 5:08 PM , Anonymous TERM>> said...

No More. My point is Painesville gets what it gets. Yes it was legal to build there.
McNutt? discriminatory? Talk to council all seven of them. If you have a problem with an issue.

Call Cathy at city hall she takes care of economic development? I probably have had more conversations with them then she has.

The guy that owns the ESCO building is constantly throwing out opening dates, and never following through. Last I heard, he was waiting to sell the condo to be able to secure the money to do the renovations on the downstairs. In the meantime, the City facilitated him getting a grant to do work to the outside of the building...which he never did. The deadline has past, and the money is gone. Ask Cathy about THAT. From what I can see, she's worked with him as much as he will let her.

7:44 I know little about this except that people inluding a city offical have been telling me for quite some time that a coffee shop will soon be open at that location.
Now when Painesville goes forward with the first phase of "streetscape" what will be the impact on a new business as well as the established ones there?
I can't think of a bigger waste of close to $900,000 than to redo Main St. again. Oh, I forgot all the traffic that' on "The Road to no where" off Jackson St.
No this administration wants you to dig deep for a road levy?
Forward thinking with backward ideas.
