"DOWN ON MAIN ST. bob seger

By now most Painesville residents are aware of the sprinkling ban being enforced presently in the City of Pain.
Our City Manager has inacted ordinance 933.20 to restrict sprinkling, to only Monday, Wednesday and Friday. This to me makes little sense if the purpose is to keep water pressure high during this drought.
I am sure if a resident is found sprinkling on other days there is a possibility of a fine. We even managed to be on local television news with this story.

What that said, although I don't like turning in my neighbor's......BUT
Will someone please ask the people under the "Golden Dome" on the square why during the past weekend the sprinklers were operating at Veterans Park downtown?

You sorta lose credibility with people when for some reason you don't even follow your own ordinances?

Maybe this is more of do as I say, not as I do, OR maybe they don't know where that shut off valve is for this either?

Yup, the water was running in the street around the square this morning...... Amazing.

Oh and I'm really loving the plywood over the windows and blue plastic wrapping the "golden dome". How long ago was that fire?

Lovely......

Been told about a bad house fire on West Jackson St. this afternoon?
Pray no one was injuried. Along with Painesville Township responding to Brentwood Apt. this afternoon.

I guess the administration didn't get the mesage to the fire gods that Painesville can only have fires on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

8:15 I am sure they will tell you it was Monday a minute after midnight, Then please explain Saturday for us?

What a joke. Does anyone believe someone will be issued a citation? This is just another way the city likes to pretend they are looking out for us.
What's it cost them nothing.

with the friday car shows and the up coming party in the park. they have to keep the grass at a level that the grass can take the pressure of those events.
why don't you just let them do their job in stead of second guessing basic service on the city's brightest asset.

5:20 The city's brightest asset can follow the same rules as the rest of us. Truth be told probably one one from the city gave any thought about those sprinklers.
Let them do their job? If they were properly doing their job this blog. would not be necessary.
A lot of everyday citizens pride themselves on their property and are expected to follow rules, but the rules well they aren't for the administration. They make them and break them.
Always defending these blunders will hurt Painesville more then help it.
Let's all hope there was enough pressure to fight that fire this afternoon?

They need to cancell the car show. the cars could misfire and catch the park and their car on fire. this would show people of Painesville how imporant the band is. All those car people would then go to Willoughby to start their own car show. and then the blog people would be so happy :)

The blog.people? I look forward to the car show as many others do. How will cancelling the car show make anyone happy?

When I asked about the park sprinkler, I was told one of them had malfunctioned and that was why the sprinkler was on in the park. Another bit of chit-chat was the sprinkling ban was imposed so the water towers could be refilled after the big water main break.
Yes or no?

Is there any truth to the Happy Waterer or no?

5:30 Call city hall and find out? I watched the sprinklers as well as a city councilman. I know they were doing what they are meant to do.Saturday and Sunday of that week.

I asked you because you brought it up first in your Down on Main Street post. Figured you had the inside scoop.

In the post I mentioned to call city hall. The only thing I was aware of was that the city made a big production about conserving water and for some reason left their own on?

IT WAS AN ACCIDENT-A PROBLEM HAPPENED AND THE WATER STAYED ON ACCIDENTLY. That is what they were asking and you kept avoiding the answer.

It was an accident? Saturday could have been an accident, but now Sunday you tell me is also an accident? I avoided nothing I'have no control over city sprinklers.
