"STUCK IN THE MIDDLE WITH YOU"

This just in it seems the developer we have chosen for the Hospital site has run into problems with a downtown Cleveland development and is being sued by subcontractors for 2.7million dollars, more as I learn about this.

Panzica Construction Co. has filed a lawsuit seeking to forclose on a new condominium building in downtown Cleveland.
The contractor is claimed it is owed more than $2.7 million, filed a mechanic's lien in August.
Panzica suit seeks to force the sale of the building. PNC Financial Services Group is the lender and ordered Panzica and another contractor either to sue for foreclosure or drop their claims.
An attorney for Zaremba said the company has not seen the lawsuit and will not comment on pending litigation.

On another topic.
Painesville Planning Commission Thursday evening reject a plan to allow for multifamily development in an area designated Office/Industral Development on the Development Plan of the Shamrock Business Center PUD. Someone must want more apartments near the present Cobblestone Apt.
Demolition of Structure 348 Mentor Ave. {Steele Mansion} ordered by a public official. approved
The FOP were requesting to move into the present Painesville Credit Union once they vacate to move to their new building. approved

On a final note I have been told Wojtila's Bakery on St. Clair St. has closed.
This is the former Puritan Bakery a main stay in Painesville for years.

Nice mention of the Steele Mansion on the city's official website as part of their walking tour. "See the sights of Painesville! Look, son, bulldozers tearing down a historic landmark!"

Term, can the owner of Steels Mansion appeal or is this it?

He could probably do anything he wants. The question would be for what purpose? The roof is gone I have heard estimates as high as a million dollars to bring that building back. Whose got the money?
I am sure if the city knew who and where the funds were they would not have taken that action, there are neighboring properties that the city must take into consideration also. I look at it as another nail in the coffin.

It's really too bad about Steele Mansion. What a shame no one (including myself) can afford to buy and restore it. The people that bought Puritan should have tried to keep the name as Puritan - maybe they would have done better. It's sad to see another Painesville business go under.

Stuck in the mud with what.
I really can't say I'm surprised about the Zaremba lawsuit, the only purpose he served was to give council an option on the hospital site and to get people to forget the hospital left. Whats interesting is what will become of that site? I keep hearing the city is looking for federal grants, more low income housing is my guess? I can't ever understand how the "movers&shakers"
in Painesville keep believing the dribble that the city manager and council president keep handing out.
This will not have a happy ending.
Wonder how much business the bakery lost without the hospital employees?

Does anyone know what happened to the investors the owner said that where going pay to fix it up? Can I ask who is paying to tear it down? Is it going to be the taxpayers or the owner?

LETART FALLS — Even if American Municipal Power decides to proceed with a natural gas-fired power plant for its Letart Falls site in Meigs County, there is no natural gas pipeline in the area.

Kent Carson, senior communications director for AMP said no decision has been made concerning placement of a natural gas-fired power plant on the site.

Employees have mentioned that Coe Manufacturing on Bank St. is finally closing for good.
Has anyone else heard this?
