"LA BAMBA" richie valens

Painesville Jalapeno Loco has been in the news the past couple of days. In todays story Brandon C.Baker of the News-Herald did a story about one of the co-owners who was unafraid to discuss his business partner's sentencing, saying the new location is unattached from Mr. Soto's legal problems.
Tony Carmona seems like a nice enough guy, hard working, wants the business to succeed. Lets face it, the business is attached to his partner, in name and ownership.
What went on at the Mentor location was a felony, and although Mr. Carmona was not part of that operation, his partner benefited from the crime of harboring illegal aliens and forced labor.
I have been in the Painesville location with friends who wanted to go there to eat the Mexican fare. As I sat in the restaurant all three times and couldn't help but wonder are these employees here as forced laborers? Not just here illegally but being forced to work at their jobs?
In the article Doug Nagy, director of the Downtown Painesville Organization, wouldn't comment about Soto's case or its connection to the restaurant. Doug does a bang-up job for the city in his position and could be considered a great spokesman for downtown businesses; but lets face it, Mr.Carmona expresses wanting openness and Doug leaves me wondering about a dark cloud with his 'no-comment' stance.
That location in Victoria Square should be called the "Abyss" because no one has been able to succeed at that location. People in the restaurant business tell me that location has "too big a nut to crack"; High rent, all electric, lousy parking, down the steps to the restaurant, cell phones don't operate inside, I've heard it all.
Finally how many Mexican Restaurants can survive in Painesville? I know many people who think other locations in Painesville serve more authentic fare etc. One person even complained of them using processed cheese?
Mr. Carmona deserves a chance to make the American dream for himself and his family I can only wish him luck, and remind him people will be watching.
My only suggestion Mr. Carmona is hire a bartender.

Term.
This guy should sue you for your comments, how could you say these things about his place of business, you have no proof, he has not done anything wrong, he is trying to make a go of it down there, if you don't like the place stay away, your friends must have twisted your arm to go there.

Mr. Carmona may be a business partner but the Secretary of State only lists the name Alvaro Soto, for Mi Mexico Lindo, LLC at Victoria Place on the Square. Soto's signature on the corporate filing is Oct. 9, 2009. Hope the food is GREAT because I too have been told the rent at that location is too high for a business to succeed. In any case, what a great PR story the News Herald printed. (excuse me but please don't pee on my shoe and tell me it's raining.)

Well now we know why Doug didn't want to talk about it. @:45 who should sue who for misrepresentation? Something tells me Term knew this all along.

You would at least expect the reporter and Mr. Nagy to at least verify the contract if this person is the owner?
I agree what a fluff piece.

Can't wait to see what kind of utility bill they leave behind when it closes?
This eatery won't make it anymore then all the other failures. They don't even have the hospital employees to help them.

Sue Term? If the facts about true ownership is true Doug Nagy should be fired and any grant money this group gets should be cut off. Doug take that resturant to your "New" home town what is it Cleveland Heights? You sir are a fraud! Yes quit peeing on my shoes and tell me its raining.

The agenda on this site is to take everything positive and turn it into a negative? You may think you are helping your community and its leaders but you are nothing but a cancer.
Doug Nagy is the best thing Painesville has going for it presently. I could care less where he lives.

To 7:16:

I personally no longer care to help our leaders -- or at the very least, only until we can get them out of office. Enough is enough already. The new guy may be okay. Looks that way so far anyway. As for Lori, she is looking to me like just another rubber stamp for McMahon, Hada, etc. We'll have to wait and see. But as far as McMahon, Hada, Fountain and Hach, they need to go and the sooner the better.

I am sure he knew all the facts and just told the paper the ones he wanted them to know. People its your money paying him.

The above is according to the State of Ohio site regarding liquor licenses. This is information provided as of today and if I am reading the headings correctly, the license is still in the process of being transferred.
http://com.ohio.gov/liqr/rpts/tranproc.txt Anyone can go to the above web page and check it out themselves. Hope this answers the question.

Someone mentioned either on this blog or at a meeting that it would come down to Chief Smith allowing or not allowing the license transfer. If the license is in the process of transferring does that mean that Chief Smith gave his ok?

Could it happen here? Who knows. Same chain. This is not an isolated incident. Happens all over including Avon Lake this week. Read here.

Now what I would like to know is what the original warrant was being served for? What crime? Hard working or criminals? Owner another human trafficker? Does the so called good food condone the support of this kind of crime of illegal immigration and the more inhumane crime of human trafficking.

Yes, there aren't any reasons to believe this is happening in Painesville so far. There are ties to the Mentor location and reason to ask questions. Guilty or not, if you associate with criminals, be prepared to prove yourself innocent and asked many questions.

Just saw a news story on channel 5. At least 9 illegal immigrants living in a small house plus the one they were looking for wasn't there. Makes me wonder how many of these houses exist in our city. Maybe all the complaints here are very close to the truth. If so, we really have major problems in our city.
