"SATURDAY IN THE PARK, IT FEELS JUST....."

like the fourth of July.

I guess some of you know by now an agreement has been reached between the city and the school system to acquire the State,Lathrop, and Huntington school properties by the city to be used as parks. Funding will be explained at the Monday night council meeting. A vote by council on the purchase is needed.
Mr. Dorsey thank-you for pointing the city and the schools in the right direction. I think you more then anyone made this possible. Thanks again ....

YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING.

THIS IS A BUNCH OF CRAP.

THE CITY DOES NOT NEED ANY MORE PARKS OR TO SPEND ANY MORE MONEY.

SATURDAY IN THE PARK WILL BE A LOT OF FUN WHEN THEY START LETTING CITY WORKERS GO DO TO THE FACT THEY DON'T HAVE ANY MONEY TO PAY THEM.

SO MUCH FOR YOU LOOKING OUT FOR THE CITY TERM.

7:47 I'm just glad they did something positive for the residents. Lets withhold judgement until we see, hear there plan. Something tells me the financial aspect of this purchase will be very creative.
I'd rather see this then more goofy plans for downtown.

come on, look at the bright side at least this land isn't under water like the park land they purchased for over $200,000 by Whalers Cove so people could fish?
People might get to use this land.

The Schools needed to sell them to someone that can use them, and pay taxes on them, not to the City that will have more places to clean up the trash and homeless, and no taxes, It does not matter how creative they get with the money, we the people get hurt.

I agree Term. you are off your rocker on this one.

PS. Hey lets turn the hospital into a park too.

Just might be off my rocker? Who wants to buy these properties? Find buyers. Extended Housing wanted the State St. site and the neighborhood went ballistic.
Could we all just wait to hear the details before we decide.
St. Clair School site was purchased by the Painesville Credit Union. It would be interesting what the resident that live close to these sites have to say.
Could you only imagine if someone wanted to build rental units at the Lathrop site?

This is a fantastic idea. Now what needs to be done is to recruit top-notch landscape architects and conduct a competition to come up with some innovative designs for these spaces!

Maybe there enough local people with ideas that could make these properties stand out.I'm finding out these consultants just ain't cracked-up with superior ideas.
What are some of your ideas? I've heard of community gardens, large ovens to bake on ect.

Termmie, by any chance did you attend the Christmas parade downtown this afternoon? Have to wonder who's idea it was to put a city truck pulling a trailer with a casket, and the grim reaper in it? Merry Christmas to residents from our administration?

State St. site, would be better off with Extended Housing then some park for the homeless, drug users, out of control kids and trash all over.

Well you seem to know more than most people? Get this info from one of your spys at city hall? Maybe theres a councilman or two that can't keep his mouth shut? You term are a low life. End of subject.

No spys or big mouth councilman. All I did Friday was check the citys web site about the council meeting coming up this Monday evening. In the Managers section it explains pretty much what the plan is. Spys?

KAREN, not sure but could the casket be for the Mexican Day of the Dead holiday?

7:47 Did a little checking the Mexican Day of the Dead is October 31.
I also wondered there was mention of Scrooge in the trailer?

You know that I have to chime in that I think the parks idea is a good one. It would be nice to see a combination of playground, pavillion and bbq type park. Maybe talk to the metroparks about some ideas, they always have nice and simple parks that are decent to hang out in. Some development would be nice but I also don't discount the need for people to have good local relaxation. JT

They should put a soccer field in at the State St. property. All they would need to spend is some money for two goals. The only maintenance would be cutting the grass.

Oh yea, soccer field man would the latinos like that.

Who the hell is going to pay for all this stuff, do you know how much this is going to be ?

You are all out of your minds.

I know several home owning, tax paying, WHITE citizens in Painesville that play soccer and would like a field. I can't imagine it would cost more than $1000 for two goals. Maybe to make you happy they can spend another $50 for a sign that says "whites only."

What? Whatever is put in these parks neighboring property owners should be consulted. I let posts like these up so we all get an idea of some of the thinking of some people.

Karen, The float you talk about was shopwing a "Christmas Carol". It was Ebinezar Scrooge and the gravestone with his name and date on it. Did not see a casket but the grimm reaper was to be the ghost of Christmas future. All in fun, and no Mexican conspiricy to infiltrate the City. JT
