"COUNCIL MEETING 10/02/09"

Council will hold a meeting Monday night a 7:30p.m. all are invited.
Not to much going on a resolution about the Matricla Identification Card, and support and partnering in the 2010 census. A report from the water department is also on the agenda.

Someone told me a cute story last night I will share with you . Please do not think these a individuals are an one you know.

The Queens Egg Business

The Queen in this kingdom had a very successful fertilized egg business. She had several hundred young layers [hens] also called pullets, and around seven roosters whose job it was to fertilize the eggs. The Queen kept records and any rooster who did not perform up to her standards went into the soup pot and were replaced.
That took an awful lot of time so she bought set's of tiny bells and attached them to her roosters, each bell with its own different tone, so the Queen could tell from a distance which rooster was performing and now could sit on her porch and fill out efficiency reports simply by listening to the bells.
The Queens favorite rooster "Old Joe" a very fine specimen., but on one morning Old Joe's bell hadn't rung at all.
The Queen went to investigate. The other roosters were chasing pullets with bells ringing, but to the Queens amazement Old Joe had his bell in his beak so it couldn't ring and he kept sneaking up on the pullets one after an other.
The Queen was so proud she entered him into the county fair and he became an overnight sensation with the Judges. The Judges awarded Old Joe the No Bell Piece Prize and the Pullet Surprise as well.
Clearly Old Joe was the politician in the hen house who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most coveted awards by being the best at sneaking up on the populous and screwing them when they weren't paying attention?
Vote carefully! The bells are not always audible.

The city was not using the cards long before Hal brought it up, don't give him credit for it.

The commissioners have passed a resolution accepting the card. This affects all of Lake County. If the city would pass a resolution it would be a little more ammunition to use against the commissioners. That is what this is all about. Plus a firmer stance from the city against the matricula card that VD so overwhelmingly supports.

Remember what someone said about what you hear in the last days of a campaign?
Well a little bird told me the News-Heard is going negative on John Murphy in tommorrows paper.
Just a reminder where it comes from and pay attention who was in conversation with this person at the Lake Health Gala on Saturday Night what position this person holds in the community.
Please is this the best you got?

Second we will see if it is true.
Third, if it is news, whenever it is printed, good for them.
More information for the voters is a good thing.
What is he trying to hide?

Liar. Why do you guys lie all the time about this. The county does not accept these cards either. Even if they did, the city does not. Maybe this fact should be used in the Commissioners campaign, if it even exists. It is a waste of the city's time.

Why do we need to battle the county of the Matricula cards. We have home rule and we don't take them. How much money do you want to waste in litigation? We can't tell them what to do and they can't tell us what to do. So what if the county takes them.

I certainly hope the comment about the News-Herald saying something bad about John Murphy is not true. If so, I can't imagine what anyone could think of to say that is detrimental.
For years now, Murphy has watched over this city and the people in it. His knowledge of this city and all it's problems and issues is vast.
Many residents already go to John when they cannot get anyone on council to help them.
I turned to John myself in the last year after well over a decade of not being able to get any relief for my neighborhood from the odors from The Water Treatment (sewage) Plant. Previously to John getting involved, we couldn't even get treated with respect, let alone get help with the odors.
John has been a strong, amiable presence with this issue. He methodically set out to get completely informed on the issue. He studied all the facts, found out what was possible and what was not. He toured the plant with us and started a dialogue with the person in charge there.
Odor control is now an on-going concern at the plant. Many improvements have been made, and many more are in the works. They are doing fantastic work over there. We couldn't be more pleased.
Please do not think that John is an old friend of mine and I am plugging my friend.
I started to pay attention to John a couple of years ago because I was so impressed with his civic activities. When I could not get help from anyone else, I turned to him because there was nobody else in sight.
I do consider Murphy a friend now, but I would not be asking for your vote for that reason.
He is a calm fact-finder. He studies all the angles of an issue from beginning to end. John is also a free-thinker, which I think is one of the reasons "they" don't want him to get elected.
Please don't be swayed by any political garbage. My neighborhood needs John Murphy, and so does yours.

He should be attacked for campaigning at a funeral. That is awful. His concern for the mourners in attendance was certainly not genuine. What else about him is not genuine?

4:11 pm, you are the one that needs to get your facts straight. The commissioners most certainly passed a resolution in 2005 to accept the matricula card. It is now accepted by realtors and banks for illegals to purchase homes and get other lines of credit. This is detrimental to all of us when these loans are defaulted on. Also, if they are illegal they have absolutely no business getting anything. Only illegals need the matricula. It is unverifiable. Mexico issues it to anyone strictly for the purpose of their people getting benefits in the U.S. Mexico will not even accept it. FACTS!

JLammers@News-Herald.com

On the eve of the election, Ohio Elections Commission officials are reviewing a complaint against a Painesville City Council at-large candidate.

The OEC received the complaint Monday and were in the midst of reviewing it, a spokesperson said.

The complaint was lodged against John R. Murphy, who is one of five candidates seeking three seats on council.

Robert G. Schiebli, president of the Lake County AFL-CIO Central Labor Council, contends that some of Murphy's literature he has passed out contains false information.

In one piece, Murphy states that from 1984-1988 he served as project director for the Lake County AFL-CIO.

"I can definitely state that Mr. Murphy was never employed by the Lake County AFL-CIO," Schiebli wrote in his complaint.

Murphy explained that there might have been some confusion over which agency he served.

"It wasn't technically the AFL-CIO. It was the United Labor Agency. It was all the same thing. It's just confusing," Murphy said.

"I was just trying to give the community some of my background."

In his literature, Murphy also states that while serving the Lake County Community Service Block Grant, he allocated federal government dollars for Lake County Agencies.

Schiebli said that Murphy's claims are false.

"Mr. Murphy had no power (zero) to allocate any federal or state funds — that was not his job," Schiebli stated.

Murphy said he thinks Schiebli has an agenda.

"I don't think Mr. Schiebli can derail the election," Murphy said.

Newly elected members will begin their term Jan. 1.

He also claims to have degrees which he does not. He is the one trying to put one over on the voters. How can you vote for such a man?

But angelo will probably not post this until after the polls close so...

Hers a last minute attack you can think about. Joe and Mary Hada although couldn't find time to go to a Marines funeral did find the time to attend a $125.00 a plate Gala at LaMafia to celebrate the new hospital. Wonder who bought those tickets? In the same room I watched a councilman and a Hospital Board member in a conversation. That board member is the person has now filed a complaint against John Murphy? My reason is very simplw for mr vote for Mr. Murphy why are certain people so worried about him being on council? Maybe they have things to hid?
Going to a Gala beats standing in the rain, and isn'y this the same hospital board that stuck it to Painesville with there move? Whats Joe doing begging for income taxes?

You were able to go and show respect to the hospital system that screwed the city, but not the marine who gave his life for you, his city, his country! You know those protestesters who can't keep their nose in their own community. Maybe they should spend more time in their own communtity finding out why it is accepted there!

8:00am, the commissioners office is located in Painesville so our noses are in our own community. Lake County. The commissioners endorse the matricular, so Lake County endorses the matricular. There is a lot of Lake County business located in Painesville. So Painesville City itself doesn't accept it, but everything else in Painesville does. It is only lip service for the city to say they don't accept it. They need to take steps to remove Painesville's sanctuary city status.

At November 8, 2009 at 6:01 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

What is so difficult to understand?? There is no data base for U.S. law enforcement to verify the Matricula Card. The Lake County Sheriff's Department does not accept this as ID. And yet Dahlberg continues to cry and complain when an Illegal Alien is stopped and the only ID they are carrying is a Matricula Card. When anyone else is stopped, they are expected to show valid ID! Dahlberg needs to stop expecting our law enforcement to look the other way when an illegal alien is stopped/arrested. And how was Dahlberg able to persuade the Lake County Comissioners to pass such a resolution endorsing the Matricula Card??

At November 8, 2009 at 8:07 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

6:01am, that is a good question. Who is paying the commissioner's salary. You and I, not Dahlberg. She lives in Ashtabula County. Contact the commissioners, each and every one of them, and tell them what you think of their resolution and ask them to rescind it. For the good of Lake County CITIZENS. Who else should they have allegiance to?

At November 8, 2009 at 11:23 AM , Anonymous TERM>> said...

The questions about the Matricula Card is valid. Inform your coucilpeople you want this legislation passed. If you don't it will get railroaded by the council president as unneeded or a usless ordinance. Beware if they try to water it down, three months ago I watched a young man go into a Beverage store in Painesville and purchase beer with the card. We in Painesville have a reputation of being a "Sanctury City" the way laws and ordinances are ignored it is a well founded claim. Ms. Dahlberg worked hard in the shadows to bring this upon us and shes not going to give up without a fight.
As far as the County Commissioners if they go this hard headed approach this may end the career of Dan Troy in the next election cycle. Wonder who the Republicans will run in 2010 and 2012?
You have to wonder who besides V.D. is behind all this.
