Will call this "THE JT. MARATHON"

After reading in the News-Herald today about an open seat on the school board, I believe that Sandy Miller would be an excellent choice. I hope she looks into it.

I believe this gives the Painesville School's the perfect time to appoint a person of Hispanic decent that chance to explain to the rest of the board members what our children needs are and to finally have a member of our community on the board.

Living here in town has saved me over$14.00 a month on electricity over my sister who uses the same amount in Mentor. 14x12=$164.00 amost 2 weeks of groceries. I'll live with some of the Negative things for that kind of savings.

I think its a wondeerful idea for an hispanic to sit on the school board, it would show Painesville diversity.

Took advantage of the government clunker program save another $3000. and put some people back to work. Instead of helping the fat cats it helped some everyday people.

I can't wait for the old hospital to come down, and seeing the construction of the homes on that property. I am glad we have a few people with a vision that can see the outcome of having young and old professional living downtown. It will be the thing that will get the wheels turning. Maybe this is the future Murray Hill, Coventry, or Ohio City. Thanks for POSITIVE leadership.

Our experience with teachers in Painesville has been very good.
Our experience with the administration...... questionable.
If we, as a community, want to move students forward and support the teachers we need a dynamic board.
We need parents involved in the school.
This city will never move forward without good schools. Build all the high end housing you want but to entice families to move here you must have a strong school system.
We have wonderful new schools, great teachers and the missing link is a dynamic administration.

MP
and No, I am not running for school board! But thanks for the support!

Pretty sneaky madpotter, but you answered the commenters question, Alot of you are well "damn" upset because someones positive may be their negative. My suggestion is to post a comment about Judge Thomas,or Roberts. One mans junk is another mans treasure. Maybe your positive should be heard instead of complaining about someone else? Why does everyone think I would.....got to stay POSITIVE.

I think the repaving of E.Main St. has greatly improved the drive in and out of of Painesville. I think the potted flowers on the poles adds a nice touch. Thank-You

Painesvilles best kept secret? We have a full service grocery store no more then two blocks from the square LA MEXICANA A full service butcher shop and in store bakery. Friendly and helpful employees will do everything to make this a wonderful shopping experience. Stop in and see Painesvilles Chamber's business of the year!

La Mexicana does great carnitas - treat yourself, go get some at the meat counter, Saturday or Sunday!

Chester's is a nice neighborhood eatery, reasonable prices, good food, love what they've done with the decor.

The library rocks.

Bella Donna Salon & Spa is a great asset, a classy place.

Things have really quieted down at Argonne and Shamrock in recent years, thanks to the Crime Free Multi Housing Program - kudos to the Police Department. Good program and it clearly works.

The greenway/bike path is terrific and it's always nice to see people taking advantage of it.

There are lots of positive things about Painesville, if you're willing to see them. There are problems, too, but if you always focus on the bad, you'll never have a chance to enjoy the good, and that's a shame. There's a lot of good to enjoy.

This little gem gets my vote as the most positive of the marathon so far!

Whoever wrote this post is a very wise person!

To the residents of Painesville. look around at all the things this city administration has done to improve the city, this was not an accident. The City Manager and her team have worked endlessly to provide the people in town something to be proud of. Along with certain members of our city council including Mr. Hada that have been on watch for almost 28 years these improvements have made Painesville what it is today.
Downtown has new businesses opening every week our schools are the envy of every community that visits them. We have a safety force we can be proud of, a recreation department that works endlessly to make Painesville fun.I dont understand why some of you are always so "negative" about the city I love. I just turned my air conditioner on knowing I'm paying less than anyone in Lake County.
Thanks Painesville.
