"SO YOU WANT TO BE A SINGER IN A ROCKN"

So for all you wanabe councilman out there. This week someone sent me the financial records of Joe Hada's last race for Council at Large. All I can say is you better have deep pockets and or alot of friends.
$800.00 from different Union organizations. Why the Pipefitters Union {$200.00} cares who's on Painesville City Council is beyond me.
Fundraisers of people donating less than $25.00 Two for a total of$4,410.00
The most interesting in the number of people who didn't live in Painesville that contributed totaled over $1600.00
City residents who gave over $25.00 totaled $1250.00.
These numbers all are public record and they are only here to let people know the cost of running for council.

On the other hand Andrew Flocks last campaign raised $000.00 of course he ran unopposed.

I'll save you some time. Framk T. Sinto is the President of Millenna Management who's one of their properties to own/manage is our own Argonne Arms Apt?
I guess Millenna being a corporation cannot give political donations. I not positive about this but if it was caught by the campaign the money would have been returned, begging the question didn't Millenna know better in the first place? I may be wrong. Thats all I could find karen.

Did any of the union money come from unions that represent city workers? Maybe Murphy didnt give him enough union money.

Right on Karen. Companies/corps. cannot contribute - only individuals in their own names.Went through this in 2005.

Why all this money for council. There isnt one person that doesn't know who Joe is. nothing wrong, just a little strange. How could an unknown person run against this. Joe has been a good councilman, but 32 years. Thanks Joe but lets have some new ideas.

wow singling out one person here. So this site is totally about attacking the Rita and Joe huh?

Not singling out anyone. You have something give it to me, If I have in black and white I'll post it.
To be fair Hal, Abbey, Paul Arlene, Bob,and even Andy have been subjects of posts.
What did Joe Hada do wrong? I still can't find anything in his Campaign Finance Report that shows corruption. I'm willing to bet he sent the donation from Millenna back. He runs a well financed campaign that looks hard to beat.
No sin in that.

John Murphy and his girlfriend have been spending a lot of time at Richard Tibbets house lately.

Is he not a big time Landloard in Painesville & the Pres. of the landloards assoc.?

Looks like the Landloards have a friend ?

Mr. Tibbets, The gentleman that Council President Hada appointed to the Rental Task Force?

At May 11, 2009 at 2:45 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

ahh, the politics begin. What amazes me is when the comprehensive plan was done about two years ago the overwehlming response from painesville residents was we have too many rentals and one of the main points in that plan was to reduce rentals.

Yet, we have landlords on council, council president took a campaign contribution from a manager of the largest rental property, Council appointed a task force to make rentals "nicer"... maybe hoping we would forget about them?

This town and council is all about people who make easy money ruining our neighborhoods with way too many rentals, it will not cease and we will not get back our neighborhoods until the citizens put people on council who understand what low income, rental properties do to a neighborhood.

I hope Murphy is not joining forces with them just to get elected, is he that desparate? If that is true then he has already lost my vote!

Term, You must have been out of school to long. Check again the list of non-residents how many are teachers in
Painesville School System, and they know how the bread is buttered. If you are a school employee in Painesville you better have a Hada sign in your yard!

Ask "Mr.Painesville" where he gets his campaign material printed? Not in "Shop Downtown Painesville." Nice Joe.

Andy Flock has been after Council for years to get a rental properties controled in Painesville.Council President Hada should be commended for starting the wheel's turning on the Rental Property Task Force. Mr. Hach and the rest of the people on that committee made a great first step.
I share some of your views about rental property, but remember some landlords see the benefits of well regulated property. Making the value of their property increase would be a benefit to all of us.

the same joe hada who started a finance committee with abbey delamottee, robert fountain, and paul hack from the city council. for a surprise, call jennifer bell (clerk of council) for the minutes of th e finance committee!!!!!!!!!!! citizen of painesville

ask mr.hada why he would not use a local printer, to stimulate the city, instead used an outside company to print his campaign literature?maybe it was a matter of money or he knew someone who knew someone that would give him a deal. that is all well and good, but, you should in your own city where you are a council president, you should use a local printer. i repeat, you should use a local printer. this is only my opinion. a concerned resident of painesville

The housing task force was NOT a good start. It does nothing to get rid of rentals and will just make it harder to get rid of them. Now all the landlords can point to the task force and say "we are regulated, whats the problem?"

That task force just did nothing for this city but firm up the landlords support to get Hada re-elected.

Look who he put on it, a priest who works with immigrants looking for a place to live, the director of fair housing, a low income advocate group and one of the city's larger landlords.

I can see he already sucked in Term with this ruse, way to go Joe, he sure knows how to be a politician. I suppose after 30 years this group "just happened" a year before Hada is facing probably his toughest election yet?

Please explain to me how you would get rid of rental property in Painesville? The last time I checked it was stil legal. Should people that own property not have a right to rent it? What is your suggestion board up rental properties? If this city would fix up its infastructure, control crime, illegal immigration, get higher schools reports not be the 65 out of 66 ranked suburb in Cleveland I could sell my property instead of renting it. Sir what is your answer to this problem? More of the same.

Now everyone wants to retire from the school system and move into local politics? Med Johnson want s to run Fodors campaign? I guess if you like how the schools are run, cost, ranking, 50% policy, awards for coming to school everyday. Your going to love Painesvilles future. Can you afford it?

What came first?, 48% rentals in the city or, a place for every illegal immigrant to live, plenty of cheap housing for drug dealers to hide in, low income, low income tax, not enough money to fix infrastructure.

LCDC can build houses and sell them, Habittat for humanity can build houses and sell them, Lake county is buying up foreclosed houses and reselling them, why can't Painesville have a program to buy up rentals in single family neighborhoods and turn back into single family and resell them?

Every landlord says, yeah, we should get rid of some, then I can rent mine for more, but they all want the other guy to get rid of his rentals!

This is the area government needs to intervene in, because the general populace cannot fix the problem themselves. I realize it is landlords income, and yes we have some great landlords, but for every good one there are 2 or 3 slum lords who are ruining our neighborhoods.

the landlords of painesville have invested thousands and thousands of dollars into the city and pay the majority of real estate taxes.so, if the landlords are supporting john murphy for council-at-large, they must have some confidence in him and what he wants to do to help change the city for the future. common sense. i know john murphy, he walks the walk. a church member, who has seen johns work.

At May 12, 2009 at 9:31 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

You want to get rid of the 2out of 3 slumlords? Get rid of an administration and people on council that coddle them. That Rental Task Force is about 10 years to late, wonder why Joe thought it was important now? That million dollars in lost utility vrevenues, most came from renters that live here 7 months a years and then end for the border. Check the names, if you think I.m wrong. Now who let this go on????

So I hit the (a) key accidently, bite me, they want John in so he will vote down rental inspections, like they have in Fairport which have cleaned up there rental problems.

One of the reasons I get such a charge out of coming to this site is to see all the twists and turns it takes in the comment section. I mentioned to my husband that watch this is about the cost of a campaign, watch where it goes. Slum Lords and rental property you people never disappoint.
