"QUESTION"

Why do you never get an answer when your knocking at the door?

One thing I've noticed you have more questions than answers at the end of a council meeting.
Residents from Heisley Park , at least five or six have been coming to council meeting for at least five months. They are very polite and always state the reason they are there, water problems at Heisley Park. The city Manager always respones with the answer the city, developer, and Ryan Homes are working on a solution to the problem. Funny thing is Ryan Homes seems to ignore there is a problem and at the last meeting the residents said hey were looking into taking legal action against the city, developer, and Ryan Homes. They have even proposed a building moratorium against any new construction until a remedy is found to the problem. [Where have I heard that before] No one wants a lawsuit? So why didn't Council President approach council with the idea of a resolution to stop building until everyone comes to the table with a solution to the problem? Wonder who we're looking out for anyway Ryan Homes, the developer or the Residents, Who? Remember Ryan Homes doesn't get to vote.

Great news the people at Gristmill will soon have their nightmare end as the deal should close by April 30th. What about the Millstone residents? The same flood destroyed their homes. We were told one or two residents couldn't stop the process from moving forward. So what happened? I'm guessing, but there must be more of a problem than meets the eye. Do we know the whole story? I bet not, time will tell. One resident watched councils actions at a special meeting with a cheshire cat smile on his face.

Cobblestone Apartments? When they were being built it was important to have Grand River Fire Department as first responders, can't do it now? no big deal. Then why was it a big deal in the first place? Seven minutes good luck chief, even thats to long. Would it be asking our local governments Painesville, Mentor, Painesville Township to grow up and be adults.

I wish the "QUEEN" would show the people in town the jobs she's talking about. She's either a fool or a liar!
Notice she's not going anywhere. If she was a quarter as good as she thinks someone would have made her an offer. She has no alibi.

The City of Painesville should have never annexed Diamond Center. It has turned into a money pit and an island bordered by rail tracks to its south, Rt.44 to its east Rt.2 to its north and Mentor to its west. How much will that bridge cost? Why? Rita's GREED and lack of common sense.

They bought a new home with a pre installed sump pump, HMMM, does that give anyone a clue they might have to deal with water?

What is this City coming to?, everyone wants government to hold their hand for everything they do in life. We are truly going to be a socialistic country soon.

Ryan Homes is too concerned about making money to stop building...cheaply built houses at an inflated cost. There was a reason Ryan Homes was ran out of the area 30 years ago..crap houses and hundred of complaints. They saw a gold mine coming to Painesville..as every other reputable builder in the area steered clear of the city and their political antics.

As for Heisley Park, there are a lot great people who are currently getting the shaft with their lack of answers. In hindsight, maybe there is a reason Lake East Hospital did a site survey and opted not to build there.. Could it be the "capped" underground gas wells scattered throughout the acreage..the fact it was a waste dumping site for the old Diamond Shamrock..or maybe it was a swamp land...hmm... Maybe someone will answer these questions instead of being overly concerned about the almighty dollar.

The good news is I saw a nice newly paved road off of W. Jackson St. going nowhere..how about fixing Main St..and Walnut St. before the potholes rattle the wheels off of my car..

"One thing I've noticed you have more questions than answers at the end of a council meeting."

Not everyone has more questions. Some people get it the first time. Its like a 1st grade class getting taught addition and subtraction. The smart kids don't need the extra instruction but the other kids need to ask questions when they don't understand. Some people have different learning curves I guess.

What does this even mean? Is this just an inside joke for you and your little group who likes to get on this blog and complain about the city using many different screen names so it looks like more people share the same opinion that actually exist?

Why wouldn't it be up to Ryan homes as private developer to decide if they want to keep building in the face of lawsuits or added cost of production? Why get the government involved in private business like this?

Seven minutes good luck chief, even thats to long.

Some people in other cities would pray for 7 minute response time. In our area police and fire do an excellent job.

A little bit low isn't it? I think you are the one who needs to grow up.

At April 24, 2009 at 7:29 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

This is capitalism. If the government got involved in other ways you would complain about that by calling the city socialistic. (maybe not that is a big word for some) You can't have it both ways. This just shows me you are out to complain about the city about EVERYTHING whether it is merited or not.

First off I'm not lonely, I'm just tired of all the smoke. I stand by my "a little over 9 minutes response" and if you think other cities would be happy with 7minutes, I don't think so. Ask your homeowners insurance company.
What does that mean? Cheshire cat?Thats what I was trying to figure out. Someone seemed happy.

Will see on Election Day if your theory works. Remember the Charter Change?
I'm waiting for a candidate who comes out against the present City Manager, there could be your #1 vote getter. You have no idea the people who think she is a poor administor, who should be replaced!
Bad streets, dead downtown, sex scandal, you name it we got it.

Someone should ask Robert Fountain if he thinks waiting 7,8,9,minutes is reasonable to wait for an E.M.S. unit to answer a call? I bet he would "PRAY" he lived in Mentor.

You think our present City Manager is a poor Administrator?, you must be smoking something pretty good.

For everything inherent in a County seat City (low income,Gov offices taking prime real estate, etc.) and then throw in that she has seven of the most inept bosses possible I think she does a great job.

Just think about how bad you could end up looking at work if you had just ONE of your bosses was a total idiot with no idea of what they were doing, she has seven of those to deal with!

You aren't going to find a candidate against the current City Manager because anyone with half a brain that understands management/administration knows she is doing a good job with what she gets handed to her.

Those kind of comments are exactly why we can't get better candidates to run, the truly good ones don't want to deal with ignorant people who spout off about things they know nothing of.

And, before the "puppet", "employee" comments start flying I am neither, just a citizen who thinks she does a good job with what she has.

Where did you get this? Why shoudl we find this credible at all? YOu can't ust make stuff up. Until you attempt to explain it, this accusation is still baseless, so I trust the fire chief.

"Someone seemed happy."
Who? What's with all the mystery? Let us in on your little joke with your little cohorts.

Haha you show your intelligence again. You are so wise, we should all follow your views on things.

sex scandal
This we do not have. It was a false accusation. Much like all the other crap we see on this site.

Find someone who lived on Hayer Drive when the houses were new, they'll tell you that waterfront property may be nice in some areas but not in Painesville! I remember my parents calling the street "Hayer Bay" because the whole street would flood whenever we got rain. Thanks, Ryan Homes!

If Joe Hada had any guts he would stop construction at Heisley Park until this was resolved coming to council meetings doesn't seem to work. Makes you wonder who Joes bosses are, Ryan Homes? wonder if they will be there April 30, the people that run Argonne Arms are always good to a contribution, Right Joe?

If we are not supposed to ask questions, then why are we encouraged to attend meetings. What's the point then? We are supposed to ask questions. You are just trying to shut the citizens down. Good try. I will not listen to you.

We received a recorded call last week about a missing dog called Buddy. The women said her name was Carol and her dog (a golden Retriever) was stolen. She also said a reward was offered for any information. She gave 2 numbers to call, but I didn't have any time to write them down. Now, I'm hearing a lot of other people got the same call from other areas of the county. I'm wondering if this is a scam or something nefarious?

Term, have you heard of the city using something called MuniSync? What are they monitoring, non-conforming uses in the city, and property maintenance issues. School ground and Recreation Park monitoring? Big Brothers watching. Who knows about this?

At April 25, 2009 at 8:00 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

For God's sake, it is just what it sounds like. A missing dog. Nothing more. It was stolen. You are just trying to stir up trouble. Nothing nefarious here. Just a missing dog. What did you hope to accomplish? I think I know.

To anonymous...the recorded call you received was from none other than State Rep Carol-Ann Schindel, and no, it was not a scam. Even on her website (carol-annforohio.com) there is something about her dog. Wonder why she feels it was stolen and not that it could have just run away?

At any rate, it's a shame she can't be that persistent when she's at work...

At April 26, 2009 at 8:11 AM , Anonymous TERM>> said...

Just a note; Carol-Ann Schindel is the former State Rep. she was defeated in November, that said I hope she gets her dog back.
MuniSync? Never heard of it . Ask your councilperson they may have a clue.
Maybe she doesn't feel the need or desire to answer questions from the little people.

So you know. Councilman Paul Hach has sent a letter to the CEO of Ryan Homes asking where the process for stopping the flooding at Heisley Park was at the present time. Councilman Andrew Flock went to some of the homes in question, so he could see first hand what the residents concerns were. Thank-you both maybe the wheels will start to turn.
