"BACK STABBER" o'jays
They smile in your face
As many of you know I have not always had a good relationship with the local Grassroots Rally Team. For whatever reason, I have always believed it was a splinter group of the Lake County Republican Party.
Now as always being called one of those selfish Democrats with a bleeding heart for the Mexicans I offer your group a question. First lets agree on three facts;
We have a two term elected Republican Governor.
Both house of the state legislature are controlled by Republicans?
And they set the budget of the State of Ohio.
Than can one of you please explain this?
Recently The Ohio Commission on Hispanic Latino Affairs (OCHLA) which is funded for about $500,000 through the recently passed state budget.
Now your going to love this!
OCHLA funded by Ohio tax dollars, wrote a check for $3,500.00 to HOLA! So the Republicans in a roundabout way sent V.D. a check? Dem dirty rascally Democrats? Wait these are Republicans? Dishing your tax dollars out. We can't fund an SRO at Heritage officer but Veronica gets cash?
See what I mean to tell you we are all getting used as pawns by everyone?
Now Lake County has three Democratic Commissioners, can you imagine the uproar if they would make a $350.00 donation with tax dollars to HOLA?
Grassroots Rally would storm the Nolan Building, but you won't hear much of a peep out of them when it comes to the $3,500.00
Best guess? Moral outrage comes only if you have a "D" after your name.
Lets see you spend $250,000 on a degree for your child, six months later they have a job that only requires the skills of a third-grader ?

FYI A statement by Grassroots Rally.
"Our tax dollars should not be given to non-profits that advocate for illegal aliens"
That's it? I think your on to something Term.
9:22 That's it! wow I guess maybe I wasn't to far off the mark.
Not even a ride to Columbus?
Just maybe some of you might realize your being lead around with a hook in your nose?
Hey, Isn't the Rally Team a non-profit? Wonder if they got any cash?
Term,
Grassroots Rally Team is not a non-profit. When I go to Columbus, Dayton, Oberlin, Cincinnati, make copies, have a rally, mailings etc., the expense is on me, not the tax payers. I use my checkbook, not the state checkbook:
http://ohiotreasurer.gov/transparency/Ohios-Online-Checkbook.
We were in Columbus about the budget (twice, House and Senate hearings) asking OCHLA be defunded. The house did not approve any increase for OCHLA, however the Senate gave them an increase. We have been asking for years, that OCHLA be defunded. The following is from this years budget hearings.
Testimony before the Senate Committee:
Senate Finance Committee
2016 -2017
Biennium Budget Testimony
Chairman Oelslager, Vice-Chair Coley, Ranking Member Skindell and members of the Finance Committee. I am here today to ask that the Ohio Commission on Hispanic Latino Affairs be defunded (OCHLA).
OCHLA was established in 1977. In the nearly 40 years since OCHLA has been advocating, numerous groups/non-profits have been established.
Ms. Cavanaugh's testimony before the House Committee on February 19, 2015 she stated " Additionally, through social media and our website, we maintain a robust information hub with a directory of more than 200 Latino serving organizations".
With this many organizations, OCHLA has become a non-essential commission.
I oppose illegal immigration and this is what lead me to follow OCHLA. In attending OCHLA meetings and reading OCHLA's minutes and monthly and annual reports, it is clear that OCHLA spends time working on illegal immigration. This is not how tax dollars should be spent.
I have not found a state funded commission that advocates for Germans, Ukrainians, Russians, etc. And I have not found a state funded commission that advocates for me, a working, tax paying, middle class, middle age female. Where is the nearly $450,000.00 annually that OCHLA receives for a commission to represent me?
I represent me! I make phone calls, attend meetings, travel to Columbus so my voice is heard, and every resident in the state of Ohio has the same opportunity to do so.
I have attached my House testimony which includes examples of OCHLA's work on illegal Immigration.
I am asking you to stop all funding to OCHLA and use the nearly $450,000.00 to benefit all Ohioans.
Thank for the opportunity to speak today.

Testimony given to the House Committee:
House of Representatives Finance Subcommittee on Primary and Secondary Education
March 19, 2015
Chairman Cupp, Ranking Member Phillips, Representatives Derickson, Kunze, and Patterson, my name is Arzella Melnyk. I am here today to ask that the Ohio Commission on Hispanic Latino Affairs be defunded.
I have attended numerous OCHLA meetings. I have sat in this building and listened to testimony, opposing legislation that would protect Ohioans from the ill effects of illegal immigration given by OCHLA. I have witnessed OCHLA's support on a resolution in Oberlin, and OCHLA's opposition on a resolution in Wadsworth, both resolutions dealing with illegal immigration.
This Commission passed Resolution Number 2010-02 on March 26, 2010,
Last two paragraphs of the Resolution:
Whereas The dialogue regarding such measures has been usurped by hate groups and extremist/nativist groups seeking to perpetuate an anti-immigrant sentiment that translates into an anti-Latino sentiment; and be further
Resolved That:
The Ohio Latino Affairs Commission opposes federal, state or local legislation or policy that authorizes local law enforcement to enforce immigration law in Ohio.
Part 2
House of Representatives Finance Subcommittee on Primary and Secondary Education
On December 1, 2009 a letter was sent to the Geauga County Sheriff, the Ashtabula County Sheriff and the Lake County Sheriff. This is the last paragraph of the letter,
We cannot begin to express how upsetting it is to hear and read that our local law enforcement is participating at this "forum", regardless of what role you are playing. Law enforcement must have the trust of all persons within the community. Police resources should be devoted to furthering positive and constructive relationships between Ohio residents and the police. By participating in forums hosted by organizations like FAIR and GRT of Ohio, your offices are sending the wrong message to the Latino and other immigrant communities, who suffer the hate and misinformation theses groups promote and perpetuate. We strongly encourage each of you to reconsider your decision to attend this event.
A dozen signatures, and one was an OCHLA Commissioner. I am the coordinator for Grassroots Rally Team of Ohio. I found the letter offensive, that a state commission funded with tax dollars was allowed to spew hateful and hurtful rhetoric because they thought it wrong that communities came together to talk with their sheriffs.
Part 3
House of Representatives Finance Subcommittee on Primary and Secondary Education
A disturbing blog was posted on September 30, 2010. This blog was about Senator Voinovich, and how a group had been trying to meet with him about immigration reform.
This is from what was posted on the blog:
"One day sitting in our office, my co-worker and I pondered on how we could meet with the Senator. Then the idea came...why don't we give him an award? Maybe instead of us going to him, we can get him to come to us.
Personally, I am not a big fan of "giving an award" ritual and process but I agreed on the plan. We pitched the idea to a few organizations, and the Ohio Latino Commission thought it would be a wonderful idea. They agreed to put together an event to honor the good Senator.
Personally, I didn't think the Senator would attend but the Ohio Latino Commission made it happen. On Monday September 27, 2010 a small group of statewide Latinos and immigration reform organizers gathered to reconize Senator Voinovich and have a conversation with him".
This was extremely disrespectful on OCHLA's part, to scheme with an immigration group and lure a Senator with an award, so this group could have their meeting with him.
These examples all have one thing in common, illegal immigration. This is not how Ohio tax dollars should be spent. This commission has spent too much time working on illegal immigration, where is the accountability?
OCHLA was established in 1977. In Ms. Cavanaugh's testimony before this committee on February 19, 2015 she stated " Additionally, through social media and our website, we maintain a robust information hub with a directory of more than 200 Latino serving organizations", I'm sure all these organizations did not exist in 1977. But now, with all these organizations OCHLA has become a nonessential commission. Tax dollars should not be used to continue funding their work on illegal immigration, it is a misuse of tax dollars. The money could actually be used in other ways. Just an example, my school district's funding was cut along with numerous other school districts. The over $400,000.00 budgeted for OCHLA should be put to better use.
I received an email on Monday from Attorney General DeWine's office. I made a records request concerning OCHLA's expenses. I received my first request and additionally requested OCHLA's 2014 itemized expense report, in the private sector that is how it is referred to. Basically, a breakdown of how the money was spent. In the response from Attorney General DeWine's office I was informed that my request was ambiguous and overboard. And that OCHLA does not posses a record that is an itemized expense report. I have not yet addressed this with the Attorney General's office. However, I can't imagine that over $400,000.00 of taxpayers money can be spent without any records. I do not feel my request was overboard, as an Ohio taxpayer I feel I have the right to know how my tax dollars are being spent.
I am asking that while you are making the difficult decisions on this budget, to consider defunding OCHLA and put that money someplace in the budget that would better benefit Ohioans. Thank You
Respectfully,

RE: Illegal Immigration
Dear Governor Kasich,
I am writing to request a meeting with you, to discuss the effects of illegal immigration in Ohio. Ohio citizens and legal immigrants can no longer afford to bear the fiscal burden of illegal immigration. As concerned citizens we would like to discuss our concerns with you.
Regards,
Arzella Melnyk

Ohio Grassroots Rally Team
Arzella, first I never doubted YOUR sincere motives and many others in your group, you are exercising your first amendment right. I guess I know you sent these correspondences back and forth to Columbus my problem was no way it seemed your group was willing to share this information with the general public? Most people don't know HOLA's goals let alone OCHLA receiving money from the state's treasury? I apologize I did assume you were a non-profit.
I just felt your group wasn't telling the whole story to the community?
TERM, this was kind of a half assed apology to Arzella and the Grassroots Rally Team. You have done unconscionable harm to their work in the community. And why would you make a statement that they are a non-profit wihout proof? At least you took that statement back. You assumed. Well, with help like yours you can "assume" that Painesville will be the next Little Mexico if it already isn't, and the country is well on its way to that also. Thank you TERM for speeding up their efforts to take over this country.
9:55 Apology? Hardly. The whole point of the post was why Rally team never informed the public. Offhand I would suggest to you Arzell and I understand each other. Unconscionable harm? Really seems the two of us were arguing with the commissioners over those cards together.. Yes I did assume something, that's all I was apologizing to. But in fairness am I speeding up their efforts to take over this country? Or are the Ohio GOP legislators handing out $500,000 fast tracking the situation? When -o- when will we go public on that issue?
I agree with you, 9:55. Term nastily made assumptions and went under full attack of the Rally Team, as he usually does...even going as far as to make a full negative and derogatory post about the group. I thought the post was abusive, as he usually is, and I thought it was disrespectful, and I think it is none of his damn business what The Rally Team is doing or not doing. Quit calling them out, Term. You've got some serious problems going on, and continuing to do this bating and abusing just really makes it look like you've got mental health issues. You make this horrible post - again - and then when you get some info, all of a sudden you are sweet and demure. I agree that you owe The Rally Team an apology, in fact years worth of apologies. Keep your nose where it belongs, and keep it out of the business of The Rally Team. I mean, really, stop it already. It seems you have some real sickness going on and, I, for one would like you to keep it to yourself, or at least keep it away from The Rally Team. I couldn't be more grateful for the tireless work they do and, again, it's none of your damn, nasty business, so just keep your nose out of it, and keep your mouth shut about them. That's enough already. Really. I support them wholeheartedly, and I hope people in this community and all surrounding communities will join and support them also.
I would like to thank Arzella Melnyk so very much for her posts. Maybe that will finally shut Term up for a minute. And thank you to The Rally Team for all your dedication and hard work. Thank you very much.
3:47 hit a nerve uh?
Full Attack? Believe me you will know when I go full attack.
Full negative derogatory and abusive post? Well what wasn't it at least FACTUAL?
None of my business keep your nose out of it? Only if someone agrees 100% with you? Now it seems like a challenge!
I have mental health issues and a real sickness? So what does that make a person that argues with a person like that?
I have to ask are you really upset with me, or the goofs that gave them $500,000?
Found on your website I quote; "Werners resolution is the first step in reversing Painesville's status as a Sanctuary City for illegal aliens.
So who amongst you made Painesville a Sanctuary City? Do you even read your group's website?
Sgt. Friday "just the facts mama"
1. Term likes to bring up the rally team when he's low on hits and posts on his website.
2. It feeds his sickness. Get help, Term. Seriously, man, you've got problems.
6:55 It appears my biggest problems are those on the Rally Team that come and worry about my health. Me I worry about $500,000 pi##ed away by their buddies!
Truthfully I DO enjoy hearing from you guys.
Must admit I see this all in a different light now. The question is why is this money being allocated to these people in the first place? Yes Term if it was a bunch of Democrats the rally team wouldn't couldn't shut up about it. Shoe's on the other foot now.
