"GOT TO GET YOU INTO MY LIFE" beatles

The Painesville City Schools have made this announcement.

Saturday April 20,2013 there will be a "Meet and Greet" for the three finalists seeking the position of Painesville 's new school superintendent.
This meeting will take place at 10:00AM at Heritage Middle School located on Cedarbrook Dr.
It will be broken up into three forty-five minute sections. Giving parents, staff and residents time to ask questions of what these three people see in Painesville's future under there leadership.

Dr. Robert Moore 11
Richmond Hts. School System

Mr. Van McWreath
Painesville City Schools

Mr. John T. Shepard
Northridge School District

This will give the community answers to items like the 50% policy, Passing student on to higher grades, plans for getting more parental input, along with the goal of bringing the education in Painesville to higher standards. If the levy in May passes will he bring back staff as well as courses that have been dropped?
This is your chance to give your views and hear theirs.

The school board should be commended for giving us this opportunity to be involved in this process.

Also on  Monday April 22,2013 there will be a question and answer meeting with your concerns to Issue 1 the 6.06 mil renewal operating levy on the May 7,2013 ballot.
This meeting starts at 7:00PM at Harvey High School.

Why would Dr. Moore leave Richmond Heights after being Superintendent for only one year? He made the following pledge to Richmond Heights in April of 2012. He stated in the News-Herald, "I pledge to you tonight that next year at this time, parents and taxpayers, you will agree that we are delivering exceptional value for our educational dollars ... by the end of the 2014 school year, the board and community will see a significant increase in student achievement, increase in academic rigor, increase of customer service (and) increase in providing the best and quality education for our students,"

Plain Dealer
Slight decreases for Richmond Heights

The district met just 12 state indicators — two less than the previous year — the Performance Index dipped slightly to 84.3 and Richmond Heights was rated Below in the Value-Added category.

“We’re at the same place as we were last year,” Superintendent Dr. Robert Moore said.

NOOO! Not dr Moore!!, he has destroyed the Richmond heights district! He fired all the white special Ed teachers and has ignited racial problems there. No, No, No. Want more stories on this man? I got lots of them.

Look most of you know where my heart is. That said lets keep an open mind and hear everyone out.
Wonder why Mr.Clough didn't make the final cut?

As a staff member, I would love to see Van McCreath get it. I think he could turn around the district like the HS. Very Excited!

Mr. McWreath! YES. We do not need the problems that will come along with Richmond Hts. Nor do we need another Dr. PHD. Give us someone local, kind, real, has values and morals. Local, familiar with the district and will turn it around.

I think Mr. McWreath made a commitment to the high school as well.So after one year he's ready to be superintendent? We hired him LAST summer to do a job at the high school, he should keep doing it. Doesn't anyone stay in a job anymore, so much hopping around leads to instability. AS for the other two I have concerns. I find it hard to believe these were at the top of the list. And with the focus groups held, did anyone listen?

I truly believe that the Board needs to go back to the table and look at other applicants! All three are inexperienced or have played the shuffling game! I say put in Ward as an Interim and keep looking as this will at least give the district consistency and the needed time to find someone TRULY qualified for the position. Please do not make decisions just because you feel you have to!!!!!!!!!!

So we lose McWreath? He's obviously looking for super jobs, if not here he'll get one somewhere. Its just a matter of time. Theres no savior coming. McWreath obviously has the talent to do the job successfully.

Term
That common thread between Galion and Painesville just got thicker. I believe your future Mayor is related to our former city manager.

Good Luck!
