"CELEBRATE'" three dog night

Recently in the News-Herald Painesville City Schools had two positive articles written about some of our students. First Harvey honored all students who carried a 3.5 average. Maple Elementary was honored as an "excellent" school Mr. Sebring, Staff and students should take pride in their achievements. This along with Harvey's outstanding FBLA program.

Look Harvey has graduated many students in it's history that  made a difference in the world as we see it today. Some even died to keep this country free.

Now many think that was the good old days but I know of at least three recent former grads making a difference in this world. Brad Dean, Kim Fultz, and Rachael Miller.

I recently found out about Rachael's work in Africa take the time to view the accomplishment of this young lady.

Take the time to see what a kid who was raised in the small town of Painesville, left the nest and is making the world a better place.

Hi Painesville blog! Thanks for the shout-out. I hope the town continues to celebrate the good things that come out of our school system. I've been really fortunate to have traveled and worked in several countries since my time at Harvey High (2002) but growing up in Painesville taught me a lot about how to deal with the crazy in this world. I mean that in the best way.

We don't always have the resources we need, deal with it. Administrations have agendas, not always in the best interest of those they are supposed to serve. Coming from a small town is not an excuse to be ignorant. Success is subjective, so you better just figure out how to make yourself happy. Mr. Dayton gave really good advice, try to remember it.

Thanks to social media, I've been able to keep track of the journeys many of us have taken. There are more rockstars out there than we would have ever fathomed while counting down the days at Harvey...and many more than several of the teachers or admin gave us credit for at the time. I think Painesville City Schools have a long way to go. However, isolated incidents and ridiculous schoolboard politics aside, I'm still pretty glad I didn't attend Beechwood or Mentor.

When my organization, MamaCarts.com, launched our first fundraising campaign earlier this year, fellow Harvey graduate Eric Ridenour was the first person to donate. Cheers to hometown love and supporting where we come from!

Maybe the blog should start featuring some pretty amazing people who have started their own ripples in the pond; Justin Markert (Cellar Door Cleveland), Cayla Curley Hunneke (I Wanna Glo), Justin Portik & Dan Hemme (Portik & Hemme Lawn Care). And that's just a very few of us.

Right on Painesville. Now if only the small town politics would stop getting in the way of our city becoming as robust as it was in its hey-day.

In todays News-Herald 04/25/13 was another story dealing with Harvey Pride Coach Mike Tucci and Kathy Donley along with the members of the Harvey Football team that have donated their time to help at the food kitchen at St. Marys Church.
These two educators realize programs such as these build leadership in young adults.

Is Rachael Miller related to Sandy?
What has Mr. Bradley Dean done to be paid such a tribute to be honored on this site. His sister has been doing some amazing work also.

My apologies to the Dean family. I knew Brad was working for Senator Brown, I am sure Lyndsey is doing amazing work. Please fill us in along with anyother recent Harvey Grad.

Former graduates. I guess there is room for improvement after the phone call we received concerning the middle school. I did not answer the phone, was not home and didn't understand what my huband was talking about while trying to explain it to me. He couldn't stop laughing when he heard it and I haven't gotten a straight answer from him because he cracks up talking about it. Apparently there was even a special assembly to explain it to the kids.

No, didn't think you had the backbone to print it. Since when isn't Bank St. in Painesville? The dates were current and the court record showed that address so therefore he DOES reside here unless he is hiding something else. Be my guest, check me out, you'll get nothing. Squeeky-clean unlike the above or your daughter too.

Squeeky, I offered you show your backbone and sign your name. Easy .
This brings up why do you believe this is important to know? What is your goal to hurt this persons family?
I have three daughters two that are doing quite well in their lives. As far as Ashley when I go up to Laurelwood to see her today I will mention your concern.
Lucky you nothing in you or your families background? Most people here would derive no pleasure in your misfortune. Learn from them.
Better yet start your on Blog.

I have no idea who or why Squeaky is trying to drag through the mud. But you can bet they sit in a church pew every Sunday. Along with belonging to the Young Republican Club. If something goes wrong they have the finances to either make it go away or send someone away. They will never print their name or serve this country. There whole purpose in life is to make them look better than anyone else. Superior never.

6:52 Sorry I disagree. I don't think they ever attend church, I don't believe they support any political party except themselves. I don't think they have money. At least they don't have any class. They only serve themselves. Take joy in reading Obit's to see who they outlived.
Go to sites to see if the neighbor kid got arrested.
Come to this Blog. to try and upset people. This person is very sad and we should show them pity. Then again there stuck here with us. If your right and I'm wrong it only gets more sad. Taking something back I really don't care to know who they are.

Sorry, didn't have to do any research to learn what I did. Read the Gazette, found it there. Just wanted to point out everything and everyone are not all sugar-coated as you would have people believe.

6:16 That's me Mr. sugar-coat.
Another person mentioned in that post will be heading to Tunisia to attend a symposium on economics?
My only point was that many Harvey grads have contributed to society, sorry that offended you.

Hey there Squeak, ok so you are not in agreement with one brought up in the blog. Can you please put a positive spin and toss a few highlights of grads from the Painesville City Schools who are doing great stuff? We have kept in touch with quite a few kids and they really are doing some wonderful things. I think an ER nurse from one of the kids I keep in tough with is a great example. the title of the blog post is "Celebrate". There are many I think we should celebrate, especially those who opted into military service or Peace Corp.

I am a graduate of HHS and I have children that also graduated from HHS. Very college grad, productive, contributed to society. We all maintain a household with families, keep our nose clean and stay out of the newspaper. What more can you ask for? Sorry, what I see walking out of the school buildings everday will never be what the last few generations were. And yes, I know it's more than looks, I know more than you think I do.

Well Squeaky that's great! I travel quite a bit and see kids in other parts of the country. The California school system is in a state of collapse and I asked why as most of the public school systems are modeled after the original CA system. Repeatedly I heard the public schools are failing with no answers. If you care about education put your kids in private schools. I have heard this from Massachusetts to California. The way schools are funded has to be addressed as do our standards and what we expect from students. How does this trickle back to Painesville? It's what we "expect" for our tax dollars, from our kids, from the administration. Our expectations in this city are very low.
There are kids who hoe a tough road, same kids out of the same house. One kid excels and one kid is on a steep learning curve........ It happens and as a parent we do our best and hang in there, I have never found shaming, public or otherwise to be an effective tool.
