"IT'S MY PARTY" lesley gore

And I'll cry if I want too....

At last nights Painesville Council Meeting there were some tears that flowed fro some on council as well as the city manager and clerk of council. This was Ms. McMahon's last meeting and a card as well as a gift was presented
Why am I telling you this?

Well after the executive session was over Council-President Joe Hada approached Ward I Councilman Andy Flock with an envelope that contained two checks $50.00  the Flock's gave clerk of council  for two tickets for Friday's Party at Quail Hollow along with his $20.00 contribution for councils give of a picture from council to the city manager.

Along with this statement." Friday night is a private party, and your not invited."

Now was this the wishes of the out going city manger?  If so Hada could have said Rita doesn't want your presence at the Retirement Party. Did the rest of council decide that Mr. Flock presence would not be wanted at the party? If so he should have stated that. Or was this Joe being Joe?

Any way the whole idea is just petty. Now the reason I am telling you this is that come Friday when Andy doesn't show up I want to keep a few of you from looking foolish on this site telling me how small Andrew Flock is for not attending this retirement party.

Speaking of petty Joe used the word "private" so am I to be petty and make sure the people including the clerk of council as well as people in other departments are not doing this on "company" time. I have seen a few emails that would suggest some of this planning as well as a gift selection for the party.

I personally told Andy consider yourself a winner your  $70.00 ahead of the game and can spend the evening with people he likes and also like him. also on the plus side there no chance now of being accused of grabbing someone and finding out on a trip to Columbus.

I give Andrew Flock credit for his intentions to go to the party. He probably would have rather not gone anyway, but was doing the proper thing. I think that the reason he was uninvited should be made known publicly to the citizenry of Painesville. After all, this was one of our council people not allowed to go to the party for the city manager. Shameful. If this was all of council, then we need to be aware of that. If this was Hada, then we need to be aware of that. If this was McMahon's request and all of council went along with it, then we need to be aware of that, too.

Thank God that McMahon is on her way out. And to all the people who keep voting in Hada and his pals, will you please STOP IT.

Didn't Andy publicly say " I have lost all respect for the city mng." I'm just saying..
I think he would go there to torture her..and not out of respect...lol! that's the way andy rolls. He looks good at others expenses .. look at how he treated her for 15 years...im just saying....

Reread some of the comments from The Other Song-it all makes sense now. Why would he even want to be there after all the grief he's caused?

Guests at retirement parties are there to celebrate with the honoree and wish him or her well in the future. Andy has very publicly, on many occasions, expressed his negative opinion of Rita. So why would he want to go to her retirement party in the first place? It would be totally inappropriate and disingenuous for Andy to attend. Does he really want to be the “Baby Ruth” in the punch bowl? Good for Joe!

5:17/7:07/7:17 I agree with you but it seems to have put Andy in a Catch-22. I guess if they wouldn't want him there, why then send him an invitation? Hopeing he wouldn't show up? If I remember how this works isn't the city manager HIS employee? It the very least this is very poor party planning. I have to wonder how many "others" were invited?
Wonder if anyone from AMP-OHIO will attend this retirement party?

I for one believe Andy is the lucky one. He's $70.00 ahead and as most people going Friday night wish they were doing somethng else.
If he was presentated an invitation and then given his money back it is just another example of how little class they all have down at city hall. I am attending Friday night and was also asked to donate to a gift? I was asked for more than 20 dollars?

Yes, McMahon works (worked) for Flock, not the other way around, although with McMahon you would never have known that was the way it was. And all of council work for us. We have a right to know what kind of garbage these people are up to now, and who's idea it was, and who went along with it. Just a bunch of immature, nasty people putting on smiles at council meetings while all kinds of things go on behind the scenes. As McMahon goes, I will remember so MANY things about her...one of my most vivid memories was when she "knew there was an incident, but couldn't remember what that incident was." That's when her and Hada set up Murphy, remember?

Again, we need to be informed, as the employers of the council, just who did what here. We deserve a full disclosure.

You really can't get out of here fast enough, McMahon. Please don't look back. I would love for any future empoyer of yours to ask the citizens of Painesville to give you a recommendation. After all, even if it's 50 years from now, we'll still be paying for your AMP-Ohio disasters.

Very interesting comments. Again the only reason for this post is to explain to the people of Painesville the reason a council person will be absent from a retirement party. Before the narrative out there becomes what a small person that councilman is.
Funny I don't see anyone taking credit for this lastest move?
Soon it will all be a figment of my imagination.

If this was really a private function then why were the invitations emailed by the city council clerk to public officials? I would bet my bottom dollar (which is probably going to AMP Ohio anyway) that Ms. Bell did not wait until she was off the clock to do her part in the party planning. And if this is such a 'private' party, then why would Mr. Hada wait until the end of an executive meeting to PUBLICLY hand Flock his money and donation back. A simple and much more classy move would have been accomplished by a short (and private) phone call. This surely isn't the first time Hada has tried an under handed trick to reflect badly on someone else (as some of the above posters have pointed out). I am glad that this low class move was brought to light before Hada and his cohorts could make political hay out of it. And thanks Mr Flock...for trying to show some respect for the city manager office even if you have none for the office holder. Enjoy your Friday evening with your lovely wife. Mr Hada...you (and anyone else involved with this kindergarden antic) should be ashamed of yourselves.

Who paid for the postage for these private invitations? And good point. Jennifer, what city time did you spend on this private affair? Accountability!

7:16 It seems by the cost to the AMP-OHIO communities to pay you now have to pay to find out how badly your getting screwed?
This is a non-profit?
Anyone want to bet our City Manager gets the "Seven Hats Award"? God knows she's carried enough water for these folks.
10:51 You really don't expect an answe do you? We haven't had accountability for a long time around here. I guess if you want answes you will have to contact a council person.
Again I may be wrong but Mr.n Flock may view this as a blessing in disguise.

You might be on to something with your electric rates.
As I checked my last utility bill my KWH charge was$0.0711.
I received a offer from First Energy being able to purchase electricity from Constellation for a guaranteed fixed rate cheaper than what I am paying for electricity from Painesville. Can I change power providers?
The retirement is coming into focus now.

2:15 That's the best you got?
I noticed that she mentioned people who had served on council and had passed away, or retired. I also noticed she didn't mention Arlene Becks and Hal Werner. It just proves to me after all the smiles and well wishes what a small person she really is. Most people have noticed that long before I did. I wished her a happy retirement.I just wonder how many future blog. post I will have to compose even after she's gone do to her failures?.
This is another reason I could never serve on council.
If I found out one of my fellow council people was excluded from this event I would not be present at that event. Who ever was resposible I would tell them why.
This administration as well as council when caught in a misstep or even not being honest shows it's backbone by remaining silent. These are you city leaders.
When they remain silent it means your city failed you.

McMahon has been nothing but an immature, sneeky, double-talking, half-truth to no-truth, game-playing scam artist since she got here. If you want proof, just go back and listen to all the council meeting tapes since they started to get into bed with AMP-OHIO. If a deal is good, and if you have the best intentions of the city you are representing in mind, then you don't have to hide and hide and hide the truth from the citizens. The fact that she did, even as she was being questioned and questioned and questioned by the citizens, and now we are in this kind of big mess--for 50 YEARS no less--lets us see just who she is. And that is just the tip of the iceberg. Thank goodness that she is removing herself, since we as citizens were not able to accomplish it. She was too protected by Hada and all his people to lose her job, or to even be put on trial for all her deceptions and lies. It's my opinion that she misled us so many times with his blessings. She is a small person with low character, in my opinion, who got away with crapping out our whole town, with the blessings of Hada and all his cohorts.

This would be a good time for some federal investigations into everything that has gone on in this town since she got here. I dare to say that she is probably leaving NOW because public investigations by the news media, etc. are starting up, and her feet are getting hot. Time to get back on that rail.

The entire atmosphere that she and Hada have created and perpetuated against the citizens is horrible. Now tht she is going, I hope Hada and his bunch are next.

I may be wrong but since Painesville has Municipal power I don't believe you can switch providers.
Now who should be able to switch are Painesville Power customers that don't live in the city boundaries that pay a surcharge to receive our power. Painesville resident I believe we're stuck and that's why I have been complaining about this so long.

That's funny. No, I guess I won't be going to the gala tonight. My invitation must have gotten lost in the mail (hardy har har). It must have gone to the same place as all the apologies I am due for the rude, disrespectful and unfair treatment I have endured from McMahon and various council people and employees under her tutelage. I'll keep watching my mail, however...I'm sure she'll want to send me a Christmas card. I'm sure you'll be getting one from her, too! (I'm slapping my knee now as I say HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.)

Is this how they felt in Oz when the house fell on the wicked witch? I'm thinking it is.

And as I said Ms McMahon wouldn't do such a thing as torment certain people, she's way to nice. She's way to nice and has much more class than you and your posse buds.

Karma, I guess many of us saw first hand how much class you seem to believe she has last night?
The more I think about it only she would resend the invitation to Flock. Joe was just a messenger and council as usual was left in the dark.

She will be a pubic citizen soon and will be welcomed on the benches with the rest of us.

8:02 Just a guess. I can't believe Joe would do this on his own. Knowing how bad that secision might be viewed by the community. Still just a guess.
I would hate to blame the wrong person. I just don't think anybody will admit to anything.
So much for showing the city everyone is working on the same page. Who again is the employee and who is the employer?
I also believe after the time the city manager has spent she doesn't approve of anyone questioning her authority.

I just watched the council meeting on TV. Watched all Rita's tears. Heard her mention how everyone helped her with all their accomplishments since she has been here. It left me wondering...really?...what accomplishments? Getting us into HOW many horrendous, million-dollar boondoggles?...with the latest being the AMP-OHIO coal deal that will devastate us for the next 50 years? Losing us the hospital? Double-talking us until we're dizzy with lack of knowledge year after year after year? Filling our town with illegals? Lying to keep people who did not approve of her out of council? Creating an atmosphere of disrespect and abuse of the citizens of Painesville by herself, most of council, city employees and Gurley? Honestly, I can't think of one good thing. She just made sure we wasted...what?...100,000 on stupid stuff on main street when we're hurting so badly for money. Is that an accomplishment? I'm not trying to be a smart ass here, I really cannot think of anything. There must be something, right?

Just a guess? I thought you told me in other posts you post the truth here. A hunch or a guess is is not the truth. Did anyone else notice the look on Mr Flocks face when council gave Ms. McMahon that picture at the meeting? He sat there further from the others with a sour face. It's HER party and for those to wish her well not come to hang around like the grim reaper. Good for whoever decided he shouldn't attend. Hypocrites not invited. Were you there?

At October 21, 2012 at 7:10 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

To add to McMahon's accomplishments: She made sure we built all new schools at one time that we now cannot afford. With her and her buddies on council, they asked for our town to be filled up with illegals, so it now is. That brought us the 50% grading policies in our schools, and that also brought with it many, many dollars spent on the education of the children of the illegals, not to mention the extra education of the children of the illegals, because they do not speak our language.

Really, I just can't think of anything good that she is leaving the city of Painesville or its citizens. I have watched the town go right to hell since she got here.

Hypocrites shouldn't send people invitations should they? Maybe someone was hopeing he wouldn't go and try to maqke political hay out of it? He fooled them. I know Andy had an enjoyable Friday night.
7:10 McMahon I don't believe has mentioned new schools as one of her accomplishments? Those new schools were built by voters in Painesville. I also can't think of anything good she has done for the residents of Painesville.
