"MY HOMETOWN" bruce springsteen

Well received numerous calls yesterday about the SRO officer at Harvey tasering a student. Knowing this officer I can feel comfortable that this officer used good judgement. That said there's a new sheriff at Harvey and it will take some time to turn it into a place of learning from becoming what seems to be poor auditions for a "Save by the Bell" reunion.
It comes down to a simple premise who will run the school? The administrator's and teachers or a few student's?

In September 24,2012 Galion Inquirer Councilman Flock was quoted at the Prairie State meeting.
he asked  "As to how communities can get together can get together to initiate an effort like contact re-negotiations through council's or another means."
He commented that none of his fellow council members want to discuss the issue during council meetings. At which point many in the audience members clapped. Seems Painesville isn't the only place in denial?
Andy between you and I ....... I think your going to be taken to the woodshed again. Good Luck.

Speaking of Councilman Flock his Town Hall Meeting this Thursday at Elm St. School will have people running for our Congressional seat.
Dale Blanchard [D] Democrat
David Macko [L] libertarian
Elaine  Mastromatteo [G] Green
David Joyce [R] Republican
Mr. Joyce  has been invited but hasn't confirmed if he would attend as of this morning.

The purpose of this meeting will be for Painesville residents as well as other to ask candidate's questions in an open forum.
Please if you attend show your respect for ALL candidates or you will be asked to leave.

Seems Painesville Council will have another new person sitting at the council table. Our congratulation goes out to Katie Jenkins who will soon give birth to a son. Mr. Howlett will soon have a great new playmate.

On a sad note the Willoughby police officer Jason Gresko who lost his life this past Friday responding to a call to Lake West. Officer Gresko  was a Painesville Heisley Park  resident.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife and two year old daughter.

His the city offered you an answer to the cost of Painesville electricity compared to First Energy which you claim as being $13.00 a month cheaper than Painesville?

What is available for rates right now ... in areas that have competition.

That 13 dollar a month difference will soon be a 100 .. then 150

Chances are they hope it all goes away.

This is 2012 not 1948. I see no reason for Katie to stepdown because she is becoming a mother? Please direct your questions to Katie.

I have no intentions of stepping down! I have at the very least another 3 years and 3 months in council (more if the voters want me), and take that obligation very seriously. In fact, we're trying to telepathically communicate to the baby that if he's born the day after a council meeting, then I should be able to not miss any meetings! Nothing will change when it comes to my devotion and service to the community.

And Angelo, thank you for being so excited about our new addition to make it part of the blog. Mr. Howlett (dad), as well as the rest of the grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends are looking forward to the little guy joining us.

7:14 Yes I have heard that Dr. Hanlon is very unsatisfied as to Harvey. That said after the last BOE meeting maybe it would be wise for him to tread lightly. He may end-up under a bus.
I and many others stand behind the new principal as well as the SRO officer and many I have talked to "have their backs"
I believe we will soon see the support they have in the community.
Dad, All I can tell you is enjoy. I never believed what a joy being a grandparent was. Always rember you and your grandson have "common enemys".[mom &dad]

City Manager Rita's retirement party to be held at Quail Hollow in Concord. Shop downtown Painesville?
Maybe Lake Health could pay for the whole thing?

For those that didn't know, Washington Count, Ilinois yesterday had 3 twisters touch down in it. This is the county PRARIE STATE is in, right on the fringe of Tornado Alley.

Washington County has a lot more twisters visit them and wreak havoc than any county in Ohio does.

If the plant is damaged or destroyed, everyone still has to pay.

Many people commented on the News Herald site that this SRO must EARN respect from the students?
How things have changed my parents always taught me to respect everyone. Now instead of a little buzz this student could be lying in a hospital bed instead of getting his 15 minutes of fame on channel 19.
What would be the reason to argue with a policeman doing his job?
If he couldn't use the taser why issue him one?

Why is PHD unsatisfied with Harvey? My kids love it! They are so thankful they're attempting to restore order.

They say the principals are out and about and the kids are finally in their classes. What else would anyone want at this point?

4:52 Heard the same thing? I have no idea as to yet why.
5:06 Your old school, nothing wrong with that. I have no idea what a police officer has to earn from them?
9:41 Could be all the publicity? could be some parents calling Jackson St. headquarters?
Let your support be known.

It seems to be rude and also unethical for a sitting councilman to have an opposing candidate of someone sitting on coucil sign in there front yard, but then again drive around the corner and you can guess where he got the sign from, right Term?

two clowns, rude and unethical? Let me tell you what I believe is rude. Running for an office for the first time with less than two years into your term decide well I've got cred now, let's move on to bigger and better things? First what exactly has she accomplished sitting on Painesville council?
The budget shows 19 million in "others" and she's fine with the explanation?
Maybe alittle support of Steele Mansion the CM retirement party could have been held there instead of out of town? Friends and associates I guess come first.
Pit Bulls have a new lease on life in Painesville.
Your right about one thing I did provide the sign and will provide them for others in town that want one.
Qualifications? Yes she is an attactive candidate but what will she bring to the table? Yes she wants jobs who doesn't? Regulations? which ones does she want to eliminate? Where exactly does she stand on public employee's unions?
Unethical? Sorry this is a partisan race and Democrats and Republicans have the right to put whoevers sign they want into there yards.

I am tired of people calling for Hanlon and other PCLS staff to quit their jobs, I've had three kids go through the school system and totallly respect them all(board and teachers etc.) they want nothing but the best for the students to succeed. It is not their fault that no matter what, some students just don't want to learn, and have not been taught at home how to be respectful or how to act towards others or how to just be a good person in life, my three kids have been in sports and band and extra curriculars (sp?) and guess what Mr. Hanlon and other board members are almost at every event. I'm sure they have family at home but they take their time to support the students as much as possible as these are students who want to go the extra mile, to all the parents complaining how many parent teacher conferences have you been to without blaming the teacher for their students shortcomings or have you even just gone, how many events have you been to even you don't have a child there, walk a mile in their shoes before you criticize

Does Jackson Street go with whichever way the wind blows? Do they make their decisions on who is yelling the loudest instead of doing the right thing?

How is that rude or unethical? just because someone sits on Council doesn't mean they have to support and/or vote for someone else on council. Its called freedom of speech? Oh, and I believe democracy. Next you'll want to poll council for who their voting for and use that to decide whether or not they belong on council...

Anyone attending the meetings for the school levy? There are a few coming up next month, lots of cuts to be made if it fails. I feel sorry for the kids and the taxpayers that voted to build these beautiful buildings who soon have no one to staff them. What a waste.

So because the super and board members attend extra-curricular activities - that makes them wonderful? Those are gratuitous showings and a part of their jobs to make themselves seen, they are getting paid. Big deal, anyone can make an appearance they aren't the Queen of England are they? Won't be seeing them around soon if the levy doesn't pass...there will be no sports or extras at all.

I, for one, thought that building all new buildings at one time was a huge, unnecessary mistake. I talked until I was blue in the face, but it didn't do any good. And now, just like I thought, they need more money, more money, more money. We should have built just one, and after that one was paid off, we could have built another, and so on.

On another note, I was on the Painesville City website yesterday. I see they are bragging about this city growing faster than any other. Funny thing is, they fail to mention it is because of people who don't even belong in our COUNTRY.

I went on there to see if there was a place to complain about the attitude of two police officers who came out here to check out my neighbor's house (and make sure it was okay) for me, and came across that. Then I was more ticked than ever.

When the schools were built the state paid 75 percent of the cost and that was a one time offer. If done your way the other 4 schools we would have to pay full boat. I think it was better to pay only 25percent for all the schools, don't you

Martinsvile, VA raises electric rates to 105.60 dollars per megawatt to their residents.

They have to pay for the Meigs county fiasco, Prairie State and all the other AMP schemes and scams.

The huge pole is coming Painesville, there is not enough grease in North East Ohio to make this feel good.

I think the tazing incident was a setup by the Painesville City Schools to draw police investigating Klingenberg away from their investigation...Or perhaps there's no real evidence against him.

Yeah they convinced a kid to get tased. What an idiot you are. It was a pathetic attempt for poor folk who want an easy paycheck. Its funny when channel 19 returned and found out it was a black officer who tased the kid they left with out talking to any one. Its also funny that family never mentioned the other 30 incidents that the officer had to deal with that kid in the past. Such as charging at the officer like a deranged hockey player. As for Klingenberg. He broke serious board policy and may have never techinically broke law. Or can't get student to admit to the act.
