"QUESTIONS" buffalo springfield

I attended the monthly Tea Party Meeting at Harvey Tuesday night, same fare different office seekers.
I have to wonder what a State Senator can contribute to a discussion on a U.N. policy, but thats where we seem to head every month.?
After the meeting I spoke to Chuck Laughlin one of the leaders of the LCTP and asked him if I could ask him a few questions? He agreed and I won't give his answers here now. I want you to answer these questions as I presented them to him. Answer all or just one. Now I know there are more Democrats that read this blog. as there are a lot more Democrats in Painesville. Chardon for instance I believe has more Republicans.

Question 1. Should Mitt Romney release his IRS returns?
Question 2. As a Tea Party member does it bother you that a candidate has assets in Swiss banks, or in offshore accounts in the Cayman Islands?
Question 3. Who do you believe the Tea Party would like to see as Romneys Vice President?
Question 4. If you could get rid of any regulation what would you choose?
Question 5. What is more important to this country, Values or the Economy?

Now what made me ask some of these questions was as I listened to Mr. Laughlin and the end of the meeting it seemed  at least to me that we were not voting for Romney as much as we were voting against Obama. Now in the past many times when your reason for doing something only to change something usually it backfires on you. Talk to the people who had Chevy's and replaced them with Ramblers?

The statement of the local Tea Party is that they are non-partisan? Yet in all meeting I have attended have I yet to find support for ONE Democratic officeholder.
If you would like to join in and help this NON-PARTISAN  group remove President Obama as well as Sherrod Brown  please feel free to meet up with them every Saturday morning at 9:30 AM at Republican Headquarters on the square in Painesville. That just must be a coincidence?

To end in all Tea Party meetings I have attended the crowds have always been very respectful. Yet on the whole they don't seem to have much use for  Democrats.any Democrat.

Looking forward to some of your answers.

Yes, Mitt Romney should release his tax returns.
Yes, it bothers me that Candidate Romney has assets in Swiss Banks and offshore accounts in the Cayman Islands.
I believe the Tea Party would like to see Sarah Palin as Romney's VP.
Lets get rid of tax loopholes for the rich.
I don't care if the President is Morman, Muslum, Christian or a Vegan. It the Economy, Stupid.

1. No one, not Dem or Rep should release thier IRS returns. Why should anyone give up that basic freedom. We have a Government agency responsible for that, If the IRS didn't find anything illegal why should a political party assume otherwise.

2. As in 1, if the IRS determined that everything was done legally under our laws then it is no one elses business where a citizen keeps their money. If I wanted a political party to be able to scrutinize that kind of stuff I would move to a communist country.

3. No Clue

4. I would get rid of the regulation that allows the federal government to take my money and give it to the drug addict across the street so he doesn't have to suffer for his poor life choices.

5. Economy is important. Values are not a constant and change throughout history as our economy changes.

Question 1. Should Mitt Romney release his IRS returns?

Yes, I believe anyone running on a major ticket should release their returns. The IRS (if it audits) checks for accuracy, however the public needs to have somee assurance to where a candidates loyalties may lie and if they have business interests with companies or other countries it is pertinent the public know.

Question 2. As a Tea Party member does it bother you that a candidate has assets in Swiss banks, or in offshore accounts in the Cayman Islands?

Absolutely, the public needs to know a candidates investment in other countries.

Question 3. Who do you believe the Tea Party would like to see as Romneys Vice President?

Sarah Palin

Question 4. If you could get rid of any regulation what would you choose?

Scrap the tax code and start over with flat tax, no deductions or exemptions, and everyone must pay something no matter how small.

Question 5. What is more important to this country, Values or the Economy?

In the end the Economy has to function or nothing else will matter.

Yes If that man any man or woman wants to be the leader of this country he should be transparent on his finances.
Swiss accounts? What is he avoiding? It reminds me of a James Bond villian everytime near the end of the movie when he is about to lose. The villian has a submarine, rocketship anything to get away from danger.
Try as hard as you can to find someone richer then you to run. I wonder if he will ask his running mate to see there tax forms?
I would like to get rid of Echeck that regulation makes on sense to me. Without values you have a failed society. Look around at how we judge ourselves. Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, people who have very low values. Greed is good? Please reread the Ten Commandments over again, money to many is the golden ox Moses spoke of.

1. no - not until the American citizens see an audit of the Federal Reserve.
2. No - don't care where anyone stashes their money
3. haven't a clue
4. Income taxes need to go away. I would be happy though with a simple, flat rate tax system where everyone pays the same income tax.
5. The economy. My values are no one's business but my own. Honestly, I want the government to take one giant step out of my life.

Just it interject here as I won't answer Terms questions.[Thats my business]
If all you people feel this way why are you supporting Romney instead of Ron Paul?

I myself (and perhaps the others responding) am not supporting Romney (don't know that I support Obama either). I thought term was answering how anyone would answer the questions. I agree that its too bad that Ron Paul and candidates like him unfortunately cannot get the backing to make a true run at being president.

The Tea Party is a whacked group of the Republican party just as the Democrats have their whack groups, its just that unfortunately its always the fringe that seems to et the attenetion.

1-No, tax returns are private. If the IRS has deemed them accurate, that's all that is needed. Quite apparently, Romney's accountants are better than Geithner's.

2-No, considering the quality of US banks and the interest rates they offer, who would put money in a US bank?

3-Don't know, I don't attend Tea Party events or discuss them with others.

4-I think for this summer, the requirement that a fairly high percentage of our fuels be made from food products.

5-Values.

Well in all honesty I did not get one complete answer from the head of the Lake County Tea Party.
The goal of this group is to get rid of President Obama their belief is if Mitt Romney can do it by hook or crook, God Bless him. Strange way to pick a President if you ask me.
I wonder how many of them will have to hold their noses in the voting booth come November?
Please do not take me as an Obama lover but less than two years ago this election seemed like a slam dunk for the GOP. What happened? The guy with the most cash bought a chance to be President.
This man has turned a sure thing into a horse race.
My only objection to Romney? I have no clue where he stands on anything. He claims he has a plan that plan and the details as well as the Presidents is what we should be most interested in seeing from both candidates.

Romney and the Republicans are just like Ross Perro (sp?) when he ran. He always cut down the other guy, and he said there was a better way--he even had a lot of pie charts. But he never DID say what his own plans were.

I can't remember exactly what the Republicans are calling their plan to save the country--the new way, or something. Really? Well, meet the new way, it's the same as the old way. They're the ones who shipped off all our jobs, and who ruined every aspect of our country. They're the ones who brought our country to very brink of total disaster. They are proposing the same methods that they used to ruin our country, and the rest of their plan remains a mystery.

I can tell you what it is, though, it is the trickled-down theory. The same tactics that almost lost us our country. Give, give, give to the rich--make sure it's an unfair portion, and then eventually it will trickle-down to the everyday guy. Well, it doesn't happen--it never has, and it never will.

Their logo should be to let them finish wrecking our country--they didn't quite finish it with G.W. Bush--because that is surely what they will do.

9:31pm, you truly amaze me. You say the GOP sent the jobs overseas. Well, why don't you mention all the jobs Obama has sent overseas. What about all the money Obama gave to the solar company and they took it all and fled. That's ok to you because it was a Democrat that did it. Talk about wrecking this country, Obama has almost completed his task of totally destroying us. That is his goal, and if you could get your head out of the Democratic butt long enough to look at the facts you would see that. You just amaze me!

7:31: At the end of George W. Bush's (Republican) presidency, our country was in total free-fall. We almost lost it, thanks to the Republicans. If you cannot see that, then I would have to refer to a recent scientific study of the brains of Republicans vs. Democrats. What it showed was that the brains of the Democrats were capable of looking at many issues, decipering them, and coming to calm, well-thought out conclusions. The brains of the Republicans, however, focused on much smaller concepts, focused on one or two issues, and approached them with fear, etc. In other words, they were much more narrowminded, and not half as capable of staying rational and thinking things through, or grasping complex issues, etc.

So, if you cannot recognize that the country almost completely collapsed under Republican rule, that Obama is saving us, although it has been a difficult save, to say the least, especially because the Republicans sent all our jobs overseas, then I don't think there are enough words to talk to you with.

And on top of that, you are saying that Obama is ruining us, and that that is his plan? In reality, this will probably go down as one of the greatest saves of a nation in history.

Come now, Republican. Really? Okay, I think I'll leave you in your own little delusional world and bow out of this discussion. There just are not enough words for people like you. You will think what you think until the day you die, and there will be no reasoning with you. Maybe some day, however, you could check out the facts. Probably not, though.

4:25 Mitt Romney did an interview earlier this week where he mentioned if he was elected President it would take 6 months to a year for his policies to start to work? Funny this from a guy who blames everything that happened from 02/20/09 the day President Obama was sworn in as President. Using his numbers Obama created 3 million jobs just 6 months in, and over 4 by the end end of his first year.
Wonder how long before his "you didn't do this on your own" speach is on TV from the Winter Olympics?
You know why he likes to fire people? Someone did a study on Bain Capital and everytime he fired someone at a company they purchased it added $20,000 to his bank account someplace or somewhere.

The new motto of the Republicans is "The New Majority." Yeah, that's right...meet The New Majority--same as the Old Majority. You know, the Old Majority that took all the regulations off of the banks, and everything else, so they could screw and screw the American people, and then have a huge role in almost collapsing our entire country. The same Old Majority that shipped all our jobs overseas, let credit card companies and every other kind of company rape the American people at will. Democrats, on the other hand, have done all kinds of things to help businesses survive and flourish, while protecting the American people, and making sure we are treated fairly and with honesty.

Here's the first paragraph from an article in The News-Herald (CBO foreseeing costs cut): President Barack Obama's health care overhaul will shrink rather than increase the nation's huge federal deficits over the next decade, Congress' nonpartisan budget scorekeepers said yesterday, supporting Obama's contention in a major election-year dispute with Republicans.

Obama cares about the American people--all of the American people--having access to health care, and also understands that if the health care system is not addressed, that nobody in America will be able to afford it soon, and the entire system will collapse.

I would just strongly suggest that if anyone cares about themselves and their country, that they vote Democrat all the way--every Democrat you can vote for, vote for them.

Romney, and the rest of the Republicans are promising to do exactly what they always do. And you know where THAT always gets us. Last time we almost lost our entire country. Oh, and by the way, their big fix for the health care was to bring us HMO's and PPO's, which did nothing to stop the rising costs of medicine in our country, but it did bring even more huge profits for insurance companies at the expense of sick Americans. I wonder just how many people have been injured or died because of their "fix" for the health care system.

Remember, the Republicans are PROMISING to do all the things they always do. And that is never good for America or Americans.

Mitt, now in Israel? Second stop on the Magical Mystery Tour. Wonder who he will offend next?
Mention was made by someone close to him that as President, Obama hasn't visited the country. I guess you must look at this as a snub? As well not caring to much for you good people over here? What you say, Regean never visited, and Duya only in his second term? Mitt better start getting his facts right.
A stop in Afganistan would be a great idea to introduce himself to our fine servicemen and women stationed there. What Mitt has no money stored there? That's flyover country my friend.
