I heard that in 4 days (4/1/11)every City employee will recieve a 2% raise. I mistakenly assumed that it was another example of greedy public sector unions, then I was told that almost half of those recieving raises are nonunion, managers, supervisors and even Division Heads. This is not a "merit raise" but a "share the wealth raise" given to everyone. Perhaps, the POC can check the truth to this rumor. Lets hope it's just an April Fools Day joke.

Sure c'mon over. Maybe we can start an committee for this oversite committee!

Individually, the administration and the POC are negatives.

Yes, if you just add
-2administration to -2POC
you come up with a

Negative 4 (for) for the city of Painesville.

But if you can get these two to work together, you multiply a
-2administration times a -2POC
and you come up with a positive 4 (for) the city of Painesville.

(-2) + (-2) = -4

(-2) X (-2) = +4

Just how you work with the numbers.

You need to check your facts rather than believe rumors. There is no 2% share of the wealth bonus coming around to all the city employees. What wealth is there to share? The City is broke....and it is not the Greedy unions fault.

7:16 Is this PCLS math or something you dreamed up on your own? Next you will tell us it's in the framework to be 50% correct,Uh?
Have heard nothing about a 2% raise will look into it. The city is far from broke.

PCLS 50% policy, wouldn't it be great if this blog could claim being 50% accurate? Maybe some of these posters should go back to school here in Painesville.

Hey Term, you all must have people pretty worried. There's an even bigger number of stupid, 5th grade level comments from the Hada/McMahon supporters than usual.

Someone please tell me it's not called "Oversite" committee in the actual paperwork.

Thank-you for correcting me.
Oversight not oversite.

Hey, I am not a Hada/McMahon supporter, I just truly believe a group like this is going to need an oversight committee.

40,000 is not that great. That number also counts Term's visits to post, etc. The blog has been around since May 2008 so that is only 40 hits per day. Pretty weak if you ask me.

All non-union employees will recieve a 2% raise on April 1st. Also, there are curently 7 bargaining units in the City and 6 Units will recieve a 2% raise on the 1st. The 7th Unit is still negociating. It was all part of the Budget passed in December 2010 check the City website.

2:32 2009 not 2010
You have to wonder what this 2% raise will cost the city?
5:54 In fact it doesn't count mine.

I watched the Council Meeting and it sounded like the City and the Electric Union agreed on a "3 year wage freeze". Is this true? What is the position of the other Unions? Did everyone else receive 2%? There was a lady who asked similar questions and I'll be darned if I could understand the CM answer. Confused
