"THANK-YOU FOR BEING A FRIEND" andrew gold
I guess we can all thank the good Lord for averting tragedy today in Fairport Harbor.
Listening to the scanner, I thought it would soon become "Fireport Harbor."
Painesville should be proud to reach out to their neighbor to the north at this time.
No one seriously hurt, residents as well as first responders.
I can't believe anyone would think that the firefighters didn't earn their pay this morning.
Again thanks to all including Fairport's Mayor for issuing a reverse 911 call.

Thank you for the kind words, Term. You know who this is posting, but I'll leave this without a 'real' name. People will probably figure it out anyway.
In addition to the FDs and PDs who were on the scene, there were also: dispatchers, road departments, electric companies (P'ville/CEI), American Red Cross, LakeTran, Fairport Senior Center, Harvey HS...wow! There are more but those are the ones I can remember right now.
Most of the citizens probably have no idea how well this thing went. The term that really applies here is a "successful failure"; what started as an EOG failure ended with no casualties or major injuries.
On top of that, all of the police and fire departments had other emergencies to handle during the course of their shift. Term, if you were listening to the scanner, you may have been able to tell - PPD was busy from start to finish!
Hope everyone is staying warm and safe at this time.
Wiskey Tango Foxtrot, You said it all.
It might take a day or so before we realize how we dodged a bullet.
Thanks again to those involved.
Yes a "sucessful failure" Thanks to all.
Hey WTF,(ha,ha)
what about the GAS CO.
The were on the job, over 252 trucks and cars.
THANKS TO ALL.....
Seriously? What about the gas company? As well they should have been there, it's their snafu.
I was told that Fairport every other vehicle was a white pick-up truck with Dominion signs on the doors?
What's scary about this it could happen anywhere.
They think this might have been an ice problem.
They are not out of the woods yet, they are finding 100s of leaks under ground and with gas valves.
All of the gas valves were put under a lot of pressure and they are now weak.
