"TOWN HALL MEETING"
Andy Flock Town Hall Meeting at the New Huntington Elementary School on Elm St. is tomorrow night Thursday March 25,2010 at 7:00pm.
Every city resident who ever had a question about the "Power Factor" on your electric bill should attend. Tom Green from the Electric Department will be there to explain how the city arrives at the cost of electricity.
Any other concerns about Ward 1 or any thing happening in Painesville please feel free to attend and ask your questions. Andy promises no 3 minute egg timer.

Term, I have a couple of questions about our electricity. I'll tell you what they are in case you want to ask them. I don't think I'll be able to make the meeting, so just in case -
I want to know how much electricity we were buying from the landfill deal we previously had (still have?). Not the one we just got into, but the old one. The new one we just got into will provide the city with 180 kilowatts per day. How much did we buy from the old one?
Also, I didn't know we had another coal plant deal going on with AMP, besides the failed coal plant deal, until you said it on this blog. When did we agree to this? What did we agree to? Is it a Take-or-Pay, or not? How much electricity have we agreed to buy for how long?
Do you think he will be able to answer these questions, too? Anyway, if he can, and if you don't mind asking, I would sure like to know.
Term, can you answer a question for me ?
Where is New Huntington Elementary School, we only know where Elm Street Elementary School is, we have not lived here for very long and we drove up and down Elm Street and only see, Elm Street Elementary School, is it down a driveway somewhere and why don't they have a sign ? our kids don't know where it is, they go to Elm Street Elementary School.
Thanks
Huntington Elementary lives in spirit inside that new building named after a famous Elm tree by our school board.
Question them at the Hanlon Presentation Room at Harvey as to why. That could have been called the Apple Presentation Room, right?
Great answer Term, some of us won't forget.
Huntington Huskies Rule
They should call the administration building
The Nuthouse.
Thanks Term, but where is The New Huntington School, we missed the meeting, could you have just told us how to get there.
Very upset
Sorry you missed it, try again next month.
Maybe you should start now?
TERM, 7:47pm knew very well where the meeting was and the name of the school. This is their way of criticizing you for using the old name. It will always be the new Huntington to many of us.
At least they read the comment.
Old name what are you talking about ?
We have been here for one year, is this how you treat all new people ?
Thanks for your lack of help.
7:47pm
P.S. this blog is a joke
Hello 7:47...maybe you missed the joke but TERM keeps the traditional spirit of the old school names going for several reasons. Besides being an alumni of the Painesville City school system I think he does this as a quiet personal protest against re-naming a school while the previous honoree is still alive (Hobart Middle School). It kind of takes the meaning out of honoring someone when it can be so arbitrarily changed....and to such generic names at that. Since you are a new kid on the block why don't you just educate yourself and get informed about things before you start critisizing. You are apparently an interested citizen and probably have something worthwhile to contribute so PLEASE do not assume...ask!
9:17 Thanks, Thats why I did it.
Those names have been a part of Painesville for along time. The school system should be ashamed of the way they kicked them to the curb. Then almost in the same breath they name the Presentation Room at Harvey after the present Superintendent? I personally have no problem with him receiving this honor, He and I should only wonder how long its good for?
Yes, I think we should take it easy on 7:06. Term was using an inside joke, not meaning to hurt anyone (if he doesn't mind me speaking for him). Apparantly there is a language barrier, and they haven't been here long, so they didn't get it. We can use all the concerned citizens we can get, so I hope you will try again. So you get it now that there IS no New Huntington School, right? He is just using the old name for the elementary school, instead of using the new name of Elm Street.
Like I said this blog is a JOKE.
I hope the whole town is not linked to this blog.
Nice to meet you.
Nice meeting you last night also. To bad you hightailed it out of the town, we could have used people like you living here. Hey, how is township living?
8:16...this blog is no more of a joke than what passes for city government here in Painesville. Anything that gets citizens talking, asking questions and getting informed is a VERY GOOD THING! TERM doesn't pretend to be anything than what he represents himself as....a concerned life-long Painesville citizen with a pretty good sense of humor. Apparently some of you readers are rather uncomfortable with the 'great unwashed' actually participating in the process. That's unfortunate...when you close your mind you quit accomplishing and growing.
