"LAND OF CONFUSION"

EVONNE'S IN OPEN IN THE OLD ROBERTO'S RESTAURANT STOP IN A TRY IT!

WILL REPORT ON THE SAFETY MEETING SOON

JUST TO ADD TO THE LAND OF CONFUSION....
The park meeting for the Huntington School site will be Monday March 8,2010 It would really help if the city would look at a calendar every now and then. The meeting will be at Elm St School at 7:00pm MONDAY EVENING.

This is information for mostly people who live in the Skinner Ave. North Ave. Hine Ave. and Sanford St. Area.
Recently the Painesville City Board of Education posted its third public notice of the auction of seven parcels of land to be auctioned at 6:00pm March 25,2010.
News-Herald classified February 12,19,26, 2010.
This land is located between Skinner Ave. North Ave. and Sanford St.
How is this land presently zoned? How did the city school system come into ownership of this land and for what length of time have they owned it?
Someone in the city administration should be asked what could be built on that site.
In other Northend News I went by Shamrock Apartments and they seem to be empty with some constrution or remodeling being done, anyone know?

How big is the site? Maybe a wind farm, or other energy producing possibilities, or is it in a bad spot for that? Or does the city have enough space already for something new?

One thing I noticed at the last council meeting is that Hada mentioned that we had tried wind at the water treatment plant five years ago. Apparantly it didn't work? What he didn't seem to get, though, is that the wind machines are totally different now than they were five years ago, and there are better ones yet coming along very shortly. They seem to be completely uninformed except for what AMP tells them.

Yes, the wind turbine blew over. It's not about having enough wind, it's about securing it Joe. Five years ago, so much has changed!

We have wind! We have a water treatment plant that sits on the lake at Mentor headlands. We also have other property and we have a $3.74 million dollar VRB battery sitting at the power plant thanks to the Stimulus American Recovery Act Funding. So we can store the wind power. The battery has the capacity for 1 Mega Watt of power for 8 hours storage, although it's hooked to our power plant.

If you want to know about the battery go to:
http://www.lakecountyblog.com/default.asp?item=348165

So my question is: Can we wire this battery to charge off alternative sources of power?

Sorry, no foreign government bought the apartments.

The reason the wind turbine did not work at the water treatment plant is because it blew over???!!! What's the phrase Term uses?...you just can't make this stuff up. For one thing if it BLEW OVER, that would suggest that there is some pretty good wind there, would it not?

Does anyone know if a battery with the capacity to store 1mega watt of power for 8 hours [like we have] is enough to entertain the idea of windpower? Madpotter? Is it worth 3.74 million it must be pretty good, right?

3:43 am: The biggest problem with any alternate energy source is storing power. Energy on demand is imperative.

Here is quote from "Speaking of Painesville":
"The battery was developed and patented in 1986 by Dr. Maria Skyllas-Kazacos at the University of South Wales in Australia to improve the energy efficiency of wind farms, solar power and conventional power generation facilities."

If you would like to watch a video on VRB batteries and Dr. Skllas-Kazacos

Wind turbines to install on your home, generate power back to the micro grid. Here is what Australia is working on:

You must be slipping-Safety meeting last night, in the paper (NH screwed that up too -not a dispatch)today and NO blog??
Saw your comment on the NH site and will say with their 5 minute response time being met 80 some percentof the time and based on 90%grading curve- that's an "A". Doesn't get much better than that does it? Especially considering their small budget compared to the surounding departments. Good job PCFD.

One very Great "bafoo" of the article by the News-Herald regarding the Painesville Safety Comm. meeting was a statement written by Jacob Lammers that Chief M told him. In 2005 a fire levy was rejected by the people. In 2005 this was not a fire levy at all (only in the dreams of the City Manager). This issue on the ballot was a change to the Charter of the City of Paine. It was a change to the charter that was classed as a SAFETY LEVY - REMEMBER?? It was a change to the Charter that would provide the city with tax monies (with never ever a vote of all of us) until a new majority on council saw fit to place it back on the ballot and negate it - Remember? It was a Charter Amendment that would raise all taxes on residential/business properties which would negate the policies that once a tax levy is passed, it would collect the same amount of money each and every year. This Charter change would give the City the right to increase all taxes by just their vote, NOT YOURS!!!!
Sure, this Charter Change had percent tax parameters: but, there were no absolute written items in this Charter Change that would guarantee to you that each and every year your taxes would not increase.

Just a Reminder.

Excellent job PCFD, in spite of the bac-bitters on this blog. YES I did read the blog. I asked you about it at 3:45 and your blog bash did not appear till 4:11.
PD Chief's name is HAGER NOT HAYER.
How can people believe anything you say when you can't get something so simple as a last name right? Good Grief.

8:04 You hold that thought,if you believe a "y" for a "g" is a sign of something that shouldn't be believed. Good Grief read the blog. next Tuesday and then make the same comment.
Tell me where in your world is a 83% an A?

DUH-yeah a Y for a G is not believable, you printed incorrect information. Someone reading this blog who did not know the difference would now be referring to Troy as Chief Hayer.
Again, now I see why certain people are in the audience and not on council. Once again, simply by doing the basic math, and using the curve as I already explained you will come up with an "A".
Please just stay in the audience.

Sorry Resident....I want an "A" that I earned...not one given to me by manipulating some kind of statistical anomoly. Next you will want to apply the 50% rule...now there's a winning concept..
