"ROCKIN' AROUND THE CHRISTMAS TREE...."

Have been wondering what "present" Santa Claus will be bringing to our fair city this year?
Have we been naughty or nice?
Any ideas?

************************************************************************************8
BULLETIN JUST IN
John Murphy hearing in front of the Ohio Election Commission, on the allegations brought forth on this past election day.
William Horvath had brought the charges up was at the hearing along with his sidekick Joe Hada.
After reviewing the charges and asking their questions the commission found;
"No probable Cause"
The case was dismissed.
When I asked John if he felt vindicated, he stated he knew along the case had no merit. and was only brought up on election day to put doubt in voters minds.
He personally is looking forward for a apology from Mr. Horvath and Mr. Hada that be believes he has coming to him.[John don't hold your breath]
This is Painesville politics at it usual self. I am only glad the candidates I believe in have class.

I have to say, I was at Jalepeno Loco on Saturday, and I really enjoyed it. The workers were very friendly and very quick. I'll definitely be back. I think it is a good Christmas present for the City.

Last Monday I went to a great Choir Concert. On Thursday I attended a fantastic Winter Band Concert. On Saturday morning I witnessed the Ribbon cutting and on Saturday night I cheered the Red Raiders basketball team onto victory over the Riverside Beavers. All this took place at the brand new Harvey High School. For me Christmasa came early!

Wonder if Santa will bring Jalepeno Loco a licence for Christmas? How long can they operate illegally? Oh, I forgot who we're dealing with.

Just wondering what the outcome of the felony charges against the owners of the Mentor Jalepeno Loco and if this has any effect on a liquor license in Painesville? Are they the same owners?

Or did they get one already?

I highly doubt they are operating without a at least a temporary license. The state would shut them down, and the suppliers would be breaking the law by selling beer to them.

Ahh, since they are hispanic, we MUST ASSUME they are operating illegally.

THIS IS FOR MR,S HADA AND HORAVATH, HOW DO YOU EVEN SLEEP AT NITE? I WOULD THINK, MR. HADA, THAT IF YOU HAD A BEEF WITH JOHN MURPHY, YOU WOULD HAVE DONE IT IN A MORE GENTLEMENLY WAY. YOU DON,T WANT HIM ON COUNCIL, WHY? WHY IS HE SUCH A THREAT TO YOU, OR ARE YOU AFRAID HE WILL SHOW YOU WHAT YOU HAVEN,T BEEN DOING FOR THE LAST , HOW MANY YEARS,? OH YES, 28 YEARS.HE SHOULD SUE THE PANTS OFF FROM YOU AND HORVATH, AND STOP YOU FROM DOING IT TO SOME OTHER PERSON WHO THINKS LIKE JOHN, WHO WANTS TO HELP THE CITIZENS OF PAINESVILLE.PEOPLE OF PAINESVILLE, WAKE-UP, THIS COULD HAPPEN TO SOMEONE YOU LOVE OR KNOW.THESE 2 PEOPLE THINK THEY CAN DO ANYTHING THEY WANT TO , TO ANYON THEY WANT TOO. This is the second election that Hada and his gang lost for Murphy because of their lies. What happens to them now? Nothing? This is horrifying behavior with a serious, serious outcome. The News-Herald better print this in bold letters on the front page, since they participated in this madness. This city needed John desperately to be on council. The people who are running this city are despicable, and they just keep getting away with it and sitting up there like they are honorable people. I am sickened by this. John, you need to be loud about this and so do the rest of us. Can anything be done about the election, or do they just get away with this again?

John Murphy. Talk about classless. Answer me these question and when you do I might give you some respect:
The news herald printed that you had two degrees based on the information YOU gave them. How come you waited until just before the elections commission to retract it? How come you allowed the residents to be lied to about your education? Is it because it helped your campaign?
Who really is the bad guy here? The news paper for printing it wrong? or You for not correcting them and using it for your political benefit?
Did they print it wrong or did you write you had DEGREES?

Answer those questions or there is no sense in talking about this further. Consider yourself lucky.

Only hope the two new council members know who there dealing with. Joe Hada never even bothered to sign in at the hearing, why? Maybe so his fingerprints weren't on this garbage?

If your Christmas Story has any merit. John Murphy should head on down to the election department and get some recall petitions started on the three still on council that thought this was a great idea! Over 3 million dollars and not even an ever-ready battery to show us. I'll sign it.

At December 18, 2009 at 12:11 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

CAN there be recalls??? If so, this is the time. Hada, Horvath, an the rest of that group have stolen an election from Murphy for the second time. Murphy would never have gotten us into this AMP deal, and I don't think the hospital would be gone had they not lied to keep him off of council two years ago. If there was ever a time to recall these horrible people and get them off of council finally, then this is the time.
Thank goodness Horvath is finally out, but he's still doing slimy things behind the scenes.
If that is true -- that the News-Herald was given the correct info, but printed the wrong info and never made a retraction, then doesn't it look like The News-Herald IS in on it? It wouldn't be the first time I have known them to do horrible, underhanded things. I'm not saying everyone over there is untrustworthy, but it's not looking good for someone over there. I mean really, did they print an untruth on purpose so it could be exposed right before the election. They did endorse the other guys, you know.
And maybe it's time to really talk about some of the allegations they made against Murphy two years ago. You know, the one that Rita said she knew something happened -- that there was an incident -- but she just couldn't remember what the incident was?!!!
I think they owe Murphy his campaign expenses for two elections and a seat on council. Really, can something be done about these creepy people now?

At December 18, 2009 at 12:26 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

I was sure they were going to use the "Rita lie" against Murphy for this past election. I was sure that is why they did it, but Murphy brought it up in public at council meetings numerous times and exposed them for who they are. I thought he should have sue them then, but at least he must have exposed them well enough over that issue that they were afraid to bring up those lies at the last minute before the latest election. Therefore, they needed new lies this time.
So, they told lies DURING the election two years ago, after the election two years ago, and right before the election again this time. Despicable. But they just keep saying those prayers before the council meetings.

I ask John who said only Bill and Joe showed up?
To some of you that might think this type of politics doesn't work, I stood with John at one of the polls and almost every comment by a voter was about the article in the paper that morning. That said it worked.
Mr. Fountains charges in the last election,. the statement made by Joe Hada about John grabbing the city manager arm, that was never brought up to John, and then "Lets drop this its a lot about nothing"
Its a lot about a mans reputation people.
Between you and me if the city somehows now does owes AMP over 3 million dollars, I believe recall petition will be taken out in the near future.

I don't believe Mr. Murphy is stewing over the lost election at all...he doesn't have anything to 'get over'. He has the strength of his convictions and the peace of mind that goes along with being a decent person. If more people were like John by putting their money where their mouth is and kept trying to do the right thing, then Painesville wouldn't have the problems that it does. It's true that all politics are local and that the citizens get what they vote for; all one can hope for at this point is that John Murphy and others of his ilk do not give up. And it makes me wonder what the elitists on council are afraid of that they have to resort to underhanded methods to win at all costs. Where's the recall petition...I'll sign it.

At December 19, 2009 at 9:22 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Just because the Ohio Election Commission found no probable cause, that does not mean it was not true, only that they don't think it should go any farther, the little story in the news hearld, did not hurt John Murphy any.

At December 19, 2009 at 9:33 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Does it seem that Painesville is heading down the wrong path? Murphy would have surely taken this city and made it only worse? We would probably be ranked lower by Cleveland Magazine? What we are last? Cobblestone is a fine example of that. What kind of money do we we spend on our fire department? Then the chief says we do a "fair" job?
We elect someone to city council who should have to explain why we are third from the bottom in education in this part of Ohio? So we reward him?
Pipedreams of downtown? Everyone in the county is laughing at us.
Thank God they railroaded John Murphy who knows how bad thing could get?
If Dinallo and Fodor are just there to go along with Hada, well thats not a solution to anything. John Murphy wouldn't kiss Hada's ring. What a surprise.

At December 19, 2009 at 12:01 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Murphy did not lose the election. It was stolen from him. There's a big difference there. He lost by under 200 votes, and those votes were stolen from him. We need a recall in this city so we can have honest elections, for one thing. The "dirty politics" that Hada and his gang play should have no part in this city or its elections. There is just really no excuse for that behavior, and there is no excuse for having people like that running this city.
Where are the recall papers. I'll sign. Does anyone know what all is involved in that and how many signatures are needed, etc.? Enough is enough. And what do we need to do to get rid of Horvath? We finally voted him out, and he is still crapping up the joint two years later.

I also hope that Murphy, Cimaglio, and the other handful of people that show up at every council meeting to watch over this city, the council and the council president, do not give up. I don't think they will. I hope they understand that now we need them even more than ever.
I can't even imagine what shape this city would be in if not for these dedicated citizens.
By the way, thanks Term for this well-run, important blog.

I think the world of John Murphy with that said what about all the concerns in Painesville we will be facing next year? Millstone, Cobblestone, Heisley Park,
developing the hospital site the right way, housing issues, gangs and a whole lot of other satety concerns. These are just for a starters. Now we might owe $3,000,000.00 dollars for what? Please don't expect 3 or 4 people to go to council meeting to carry the water for everyone. Believe me it makes them nervious to see others there.
The resident of Heisley Park send someone to every meeting, along with a State St. area resident that wanted to get the city to buy the school properties.
Let them know theres a new way of doing business in Dodge, and they will be held resposible, I like that word the CM will have to hold her administration to it.

The claims against John have been dismissed, that should be enough proof for all of us. He doesn't need to and should not post his News-Herald questionaire here for all of the haters to pick apart. If the State of Ohio dismissed the claims, so should we.

If you have questions about the claims, talk to John in person. Unlike some others out there, he will take the time to talk to you.

I got to know John during the months leading up to the election and found him to be a sincere and well-meaning person. I hope he runs again and I will do whatever I can to suppot him. Painesville could use many more like John.

John said the claims were malicious. If you post his questionaire then we will see if anyone had a basis to believe he had those degrees.
But either way I'm sure Horvath went by what was in the paper which John admits was not the truth. The only question remaining was did he misrepresent it to the paper or did the paper screw it up and decieve the voters.
The AFLCIO stuff stuff is another story. You'd have to talk to the President of the AFLCIO for why he said John didn't work there.

Mr. Schiebi was so concerned that his organization was tainted by John Murphy you would have thought he would be at the hearing to explain the sins of John Murphy. Schiebi did it as a favor to Hada and then walked away. Damage done.

And for whoever made the remark earlier that the "little" News-Herald article did not hurt Murphy's chances of getting elected -- that is, of course, absolutely not true.
It did what it was supposed to do -- and that was to lose the election for him.

For 9:29p.m.:
1) It was NOT way back in the paper.
2) Yes, it was on election day when MOST people vote.
3) You cannot possibly have the knowledge to say that not many people saw it.
4) You cannot possibly have the knowledge to say it did not hurt him.
5) He lost by under 200 votes. I believe that article (and the people behind the article) lost him the election.

I understand that there were people who would not have voted for him regardless, just as there were people who would not have voted for one or more of the others. That's not the point.

Having been in Painesville less then ten years, could someone explain the magic in Joe Hada's name. People seem to believe he can do or say no wrong. Is he the hometown hero? I guess hes a nice person I have never met him, and I'm not that impressed on how he runs a council meeting on the television. It seems to be a sin in Painesville to disagree with him. Now it seems he will get even with anyone who challenges him.

I don't know whats in Joe Hada's mind but at the last two meetings he has made little sense? He truly has made the argument for councilman Flock.
It is the first time I have ever watched him just ramble.
19 minutes to Chestnut St. yes I believe we have a problem. If bringing help into the city for as little as $100,000 that seems like a good deal, really a great deal if you were the one waiting 19 minutes.
Joe Hada is a great guy. Sometimes he justs alittle hard headed. He believes hes right and good luck getting him to change his mind.
I think John Murphy just rubbed him the wrong way.

I agree with your statements about Joe Hada and then some. It is my opinion that Hada is a phony. From personal dealings with him, I do not believe him to be the nice person he pretends to be (when he's not walking all over people, that is).
It is also my opinion from watching him in action that he will do whatever is necessary to shut people up when they do not agree with him, and to step on people in every way necessary if they threaten his power or opinions.

Mr. Fountain I know your very ill and there must be some way that you could get someone to preform your job for you. The city has a crisis about safety and you the head of the safety committee, say nothing. Either you can't or don't care.
