"MARATHON COUNCIL MEETING 08/17/09"

Just kidding, only two items on the agenda.

Amending section 167 of the citys labor clause.

Also making adjustments for fiscal year 2009. [coming up alittle short?]

A presentation from the Finance Director.

Nothing on the horizen if we don't pass this tonight, the project will be in trouble! How refreshing.

Everything passed, the city's finances are right on track.>><>>>>>>>>
Sorry, but I'm getting alittle tired of Hal, not only does he want to run Ward 2 he now wants to run the railroads in Painesville. First off Hal, those are not tank cars they are called coil cars. that haul rolled steel to auto plants. The railroads all over the country are parking unused cars on sidings all over. They would rather they were hauling goods than parked waiting for orders, its called a recession!
The reason the engineer blew his horn was he wanted to make sure that you knew the train was coming! Its not rocket science.

One gentleman who lives in Heisley Park told council his sump pump runs 24/7 everyday rain or shine.

Also the City Manager informed council that Ohio D.O.T. would start the repaving job on Mentor Ave. August 31,2009 and should be done by the start of October. [Fern Dr. to Wood St].

Hope they pass a resolution to end Art in the Park.
It was pitiful.

Sounds like sour grapes. I went and purchased a print of all the former Painesville Schools for $5.00 from a S. Chaffee. Went home framed it great purchase. Saw alot of interesting things. Just what were you expecting. Oh, one disappointment I was hoping maddpotter would have setup a stand.

Hal is the biggest bust that has come down the track in along time.

I think its time to unhook Hal's caboose from our train.

Help me here the train siding isn't even in his ward? Why does this man seem to get involved with this and it's not in his ward, yet he only invites people from Ward 2 to his pick-nic, lota class Hal. maybe if you got information straight before you look like an idiot at a council meeting, people might listen to your comments.
Hal your on on the right track, just the wrong railroad.
Something tells me we're gona see alot of that German staff car in a couple of years.

Nice work Term, the building departments going to pitch a tent in your front yard. They had it coming, I've wondered about that myself. Thanks for taking the heat.

How sad no one knows who's on the finance committee, and when the last time they met? 80 mill. budget?
Next time ask them how Painesvilles space programs going , you'll probably get the same answer.

What did TERM take the heat about with the Building Department? Is this a behind the scenes issue or can you share? Or did I miss something?

He went above and beyond making a fool of himself at the council meeting. He makes Hal Werner look smart.

Just so some of you know. I was told to have a booth at Art in the Park the fee was $50.00 plus a $10.00 Judges fee? If this is true I find it pretty hard to believe anyone made any kind of money there, I could be wrong but a total fee of $10.00 seemed to be reasonable. First you make it profitable for the vendors, and more show up. Maybe holding it a little later in the season would get more LEC students and Harvey artists involved.
I can see why some artists may ignore this event.

What is with all of the
T-111 plywood going up on S.State St.
First the Barber shop now the Tire Store.
How can the City allow this crap.

You have to watch the council meeting to understand. As far as the space program a very simply question was asked and our leadership acted as if they were asked the meaning of life.
How do you like them apples, Rita?

Good job Term, They already started cleaning the Newell St. property. Also they started the sidewalk on Chestnut St. I guess all they needed was a little push.

Blindsiding the city council meeting with a complaint about city owned property in Painesville is what Term does best. He could have easily have picked up a phone and called city hall with his complaints and concerns but he chose to air it out at a meeting, So this little person gets some mileage out of making a council meeting a sketch that should be on the comedy channel, He knew who was on the finance committee and when they last met, just Term being Term. I will no longer be apart of the joke site.

Blindsided I don't think so, the city was notified on their own web site. They see me every two weeks they could of asked me when I was going to paint? I was just waiting for cooler weather, but they sent me a certified letter. All this because of that damn horse. Which begs the question did anyone in the building dept. rent stable space in the last year to the person who got the lawnmowing contract? Maybe you can get an answer from them, and we'll post it here. I know of one councilman that asked and has yet to receive an answer. City Hall has a code Silence is Golden. I would like an answer.

Last time I checked it wasn't illegal to board a horse for someone.Quit trying to start something where there is nothing!

Welcome to the real world Term. You or the posts on this blog have attacked or insinuated wrong doing for just about every person on the current administration. Did you really think you were never going to get payback? They have now figured out they can get to you, good luck, you are probably about to find out where the true power in this city is.
The next level will be all your die hard supporters all of a sudden getting cited. You see, you can point out all the other problems you want, but if any of your property or your supporters property is out of compliance you don't have a leg to stand on but to fix it in the allotted time.

And Andy or Hal are not going to support you, Andy might as well be waving the white flag now. "I told the administration about this months ago", he is a whipped little puppy who has now lost his usefullness on council.

to the post 419, we still dont know who is on the finance committee or if there is one? term never got an answer to his question from joe hada. BUT I SURE HOPE SOMEONE IS WATCHING OUR SPENDING BESIDES THE CITY TREASURER AND THE CITY MANAGER. AT LEAST TERM IS ASKING QUESTIONS . concerned taxpayer

6:05 Maybe your right. Is this the way you want your city run? I will fix and repair what has to be fixed and repaired. I have no "supporters" If the city thinks it wise to go after critics so be it. Have I stated a Lie? This city is where its at today because of very poor management. If this is payback. O.K.

TERM, I think the city is looking at major lawsuits if they are going to use the Chicago thug politics to get back at you and anyone who voices criticism of the city. Has the city started a web site where we can turn in our neighbors if they complain about management? That is next. If I get a citation for anything on my house and my neighbor's run down shack and 20 cars in the lawn are allowed to remain, you bet I will take this to court. The days of intimidation are over!

At August 21, 2009 at 8:52 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

In my wildest dreams I never thought it was possible that people would think its a good idea to go after a resident whos only crime was to point out mistakes and ask questions. The people in this town deserve what they have.
You have more supporters then you think.

Councilman Flock looks like he's ready to blow a fuse anytime. I guess he sees the B.S. first hand.
The lack of respect that Hada shows to some on council you could understand.

Find out the true power of the city???? Term if they ever go after you stand in the middle of any street in Painesville. Its obvious they never look at them. Wednesday nights meeting Mr. Horvath said he was against anymore rental property in town. I almost choked. Bill you voted for 350 units at Cobblestone. Bill maybe you should remember what you voted for. I do miss you trying to sit on the city managers lap.

Have you ever seen abunch of people so content with a last place finish? Show us that plaque.Painesville has been led by the same people for so long they don't even know its so screwed up. An earlier poster said it would be a good idea to get all new councilpeople with fresh new ideas. If the ones still sitting on council see you people mean business they wont even run. Could someone under 35 run?

At August 21, 2009 at 2:07 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Young people, we just want out. Its so screwed up here I don't think it will ever come back. The hospital closing will have a big bearing in this towns future. As far as ratings it doesn't mean much, unless your trying to sell or buy property. The city should address this issue in a more positive way, If Painesvilles ever is going to be what I have heard it once was, you do need new ideas. The downtown development is closer to Sifi then reality. Terms rants shouldn't upset anyone it more of a what the h...! than a complaint. My mother on the other hand doesn't want to look at the facts everythings fine, and at the same time can't understand why I wouldn't want to raise a family here.
You need more then cheap utilities to make someone stay or come here.
A 50 year investment in a coal electric plant, run as fast as you can from that project.

South end people get away with every thing.
No permits at the Barber shop or Tire store work, up further at the corner of State and South a house getting a new porch and rails no permit, all of the crap on S.St Clair,
it is crazy

The main problem in Painesville is that the administration isn't here to serve the citizens. The citizens are here to serve the administration. Think about it!

Kennedy and Jefferson, neither had knowledge of the "Painesville Building Department" They are not looking at what the people are telling them to, there looking for reasons to get the people to get them stop complaining.
Why won't they answer Terms question?
