Who will pay for this massive clean-up? Go to your nearest mirror and take a look at one of the people.
Diamond Shamrock? No. Hemisphere Corp? No. You and me so we will watch other's play golf and enjoy this Private Resort.
To all of you out there, will you please explain to me how this isn't a form of Socialism? One Corp. makes the mess another want to use that site for profit, and they want the people to pay to clean it?
I asked earlier on this site if there was a problem with that site. I was reassured by many of you I was just stirring up stuff. Looks like the project has been on hold for over a year. If some of the people promoting this project would have listened to afew "Old Timers" this project might have taken a different direction. What do I see as the biggest problem with this project?

Mr. Todd Davis in a press release stated that this property was not part of Hemishere Corp. The news story was misprinted information.

Whatever you do don't tell Rita. She will just annex it then Painesville will pay for this clean-up too.

To late, Rita in the Painesville's Comprehensive Plan of 2006 suggested they annex property "to the Lake" Along with property along Rt.20 to about Ney Rd. and parts of the area near and including Laketran property in Painesville Township. Is it coming alittle clearer to some of you why Township Officials don't want to help her out with Cobblestone Apartments? Read the whole plan the city does not lack ambition.
Speaking of Cobblestone did anyone hear of a small fire their a week or two ago? Someone phoned me and said Mentor Fire Dept. got there almost 5 minutes before Painesville Fire Dept. Makes sense they have two Fire Stations closer then ours. Could not get any verification so I'm asking if anyone has any facts. Its been over three months since this was brought up at a council meeting has the CM found a solution or are we just going to ignore it?
Rita wants to annex?, Rita didn't write that plan, people from the community did. And, that is not how annexation works, whoever wants annexed has to "ask the city" usually because their cost and services will be better.
The city cannot just decide to take the property. Your just stirring up trouble about nothing again.
First off if you've been around here for more then a week you should know "Rita gets what Rita wants."

What I can't get over when something positive happens in Painesville . The CM gets the glory, when things don't quite workout it council fault they voted on it, its people in the community its never city halls fault.
Curious, the plan was made up of people in the community? Did they all live in the Painesville?
Painesville is a good example of a place that can't take care of what it got, and wants to add to its problems.
I went online and read the story about suburbs, yes were dead last!why anyone would want a Painesville address is beyond me.
The CM had nothing to do with the ranking, maybe the boggieman did it. He opened all the doors in town I guess.

Gen-X: It was the generations that sit too long on their chairs at City Hall,and any of the other communties around the Diamond soupey poopy pond. It was never we who are property owners. Never a vote for Corp installation or what they may do. Learn Gov't processes.
Gen-X, check-out the Love Canal in New York. Pull this up on-line you will see/read the same rhetoric from New York/EPA that is being solicited to us in Lake County. Keep on looking/reading and you will be most educated as to the disastrous end product that occurred there - as is now pointing to the same negativity at the Diamond Sight.

P'villes Comp. Plan. CM, my friend, has her fingers in all of this. By a charter change issue,which she wrote, (and again placed on the ballot( with trickery) in early Spring when most of P'villes population are not here: she gave herself the right to sit and influence the appointed Charter Group-, the Planning Commission, the Zoning Board of Appeals, the Fire/Police Departments/Water/Sewer/Parks

She was granted all controls - and when she receives any votes from council as a thumbs-up, she dives right in and could care less if any council member balks at her actions. The Cm is just a Manager. There is not any other public Entity that gives their CM the control/Dictatorship as Painesville has. The CM is very negligent on providing proposals in a timely fashion for council reading. The CM controller, by her own admission did not feel that any changes for the protection of Cobblestone was necessary for advisement to the Governing Council to Know. What is the status of Cobblestone now? The same as it has always been - IN LIMBO.Oh I have talked with other Entitie. So great CM, what has been finalized?? Don't here you talking now. She has tricked every goof on Council to allow her Charter Changes to give her the authority of TOTAL CONTROL. Don't post with pontification; request and read these Comp. Plans. The last one posted by Term is right on. The annexation proposal of what she stated is in writing. We just hope that there will be very wise people in those "Coucil Chairs" that will be an individual and say: "Hey, wait a minute here" this is not what the people of this city wants - they have spoken and an overload of housing will not make this city whole. We have no businesses downtown. Stop the FALSE PR to come downtown to shop - where? We can only purchase the greater percentage of our needs in Painesville
Twp and Mentor (unless we are on relief cards and then we just go to the convenient stores) Eat in downtown P'ville? Sure if you just want to eat breakfast and a fast Lunch. Another false PR statement: "There are over 30 Bars and Restaurants in P'ville."

This Cm is not and has never been or held a degree in city planning or management. This CM feeds off of her relationships. Who are they?
Go looking and you will find the influences on her. If you choose not to do this, then please hold your tongue. Does not take much to research this: we already know who they are.

With your intelligent rhetoric and sophisticated command of the English language, Rita could never stand up against you. Come on, this City really needs you to step up and help straighten out this mess. You need to be directly involved in the City government somehow. You are wasting your talents if you aren't.

I don't think that's what he or she meant. I think he or she was referring to the influence on Rita. The poster IS a resident, of this I'm pretty sure. Maybe the poster will come back and clarify?

Oh, there is one poster on this blog (posts under a few different names including anonymous) who is absolutely OBSESSED with Rita McMahon. It's so obvious that I'm starting to wonder if it's fallout from a failed love affair or something, seriously. In this person's deranged mind, ALL roads lead back to "Evil Rita CM of the city of 'Ville"!
