LETS SUE THE RAILROAD

Everyone wants in on the act. Atlas Cinemas is sueing CSX Railroad over the derailment last year. $5.5 million? seems excessive even if they used their property in an emergency. $310,000 in loss revenue what that about 7 large popcorns? If they lost money whey should receive restitution and something for their trouble. Now 2 people on Forestbrook Lane those are the apartments behind Home Depot. Christopher and Jeanne who must live there are claiming CSX should be held liable for more than $5 million for property damage, personal injury, health scares and loss of income. A similar lawsuit was filed by evacuee Jonathan. If there ever a jury I'd want to sit on this is the one. Frivorous, over the top what do you think? jt make this positive for me.

TERM, I am not and will never be a supporter of frivolous lawsuits. They bog our courts down with worthless dribble and such. I thought that CSX did their best in the wake of what could have been a huge disaster. Sure people were displaced and all but they were all treated with the utmost care. I have a friend that lives down in the effected area and know first hand that CSX was willing to bend over backwards to do anything they wanted, they just had to ask and it was done. The positive spin...no one was hurt and I thought that the Cities departments that responded and helped did a wonderful job. JT

As we are a CSX family, we drove through Heisley Park and the frivilous luxury condos off Diamond drive. We also spoke with many families in those areas. Home and condo damage to any structures was not reported. The only problems were to turf areas. Yes the smell of fuel was there, but it did not penetrate and present any forever problems. As we live at the north end of town, we also had the heavy diesel/chemical smoke hanging over our home as did Lake East Hospital and many other areas of this city.
A lawsuit for millions of dollars of damage - show the pictures of this damage!! Health problems, provide all copies of medical bills.
No reason to go on and on. We lived through what you lived through. All of you are just trying to become rich young opportunity baggage.
We will tell you now, that we were down in the hole and were breathing and experiencing more of this horror than any of you can imagine!
Thank God you were asked to leave, as we had no choice but to be there and fight the fight, do our jobs no matter what the consequences would strike all of us. If anyone could file a lawsuit, we would because of what we experienced.
We do not work/breathe on lawsuits.
WE DO OUR JOBS REGARDLESS OF ANY HAZARDS. WE DO OUR JOBS BECAUSE WE ARE COMMITTED TO OUR JOBS. WE ARE HARD-WORKING INDIVIDUALS THAT BELIEVE IN OUR WORK PROCESSES AND TAKE CARE OF THE TRACKS 24/7 - 365 DAYS OF THE YEAR.

For the lawsuits of individuals and now a Movie Place: are you on call 24/7 365 to do your work? We think not because you are entities that have part-timers. For those of the housing developments, do you work these horrendous hours - We think not, as you go home. We never know when we can go home as the hours are forever and forever.
Have a wonderful time with your lawsuits - you will spend so much money: but, you will not gain one dollar!!!!

I guess this is why they have juries and trials. If I get called for service I will weigh in with an opinion but until evidence is presented to me I don't have an opinion. I'm not a party involved, I don't care.

TERM, the last comment under Andy's Picnic has the F word twice. You might want to delete. It was added this week.

I know I've only deleted that about 10 times and I left it up just to save the poster and myself a little time. It makes someone happy.

Did anybody on this list watch Wall Street last week? or listen to the news this weekend....... congrats taxpayers because you now own one big ass bankrupt insurance agency AIG, millions of bad mortgages, a bankrupt financial institution that has been around for decades and the list is sure to double in the coming months. Let's toss on multi million dollar payouts to CEO's who failed their corporations & share holders and we wonder why a movie theater and two home owners are suing CSX.
Do you think we have a morality problem in the good old USA? Wow, wake up and smell the ink they are going to be printing new money on. Knowing that paper is going to devalue the dollar further.
and I just read the headlines on the front of the Plain Dealer this morning and Ohio is probably going to vote for McCain because we are still a racist state........... we are doomed as a civilization.

I agree with every thing but that it might be worse if we didn't bail out those companies. There is a reason for the term "too big to fail". But yes we are doomed if we elect McCain. I was severly disappointed with our state after the last election. I am looking for a new house, might pick up a canadian real estate book.

Good, leave, see ya,
Ohio is not a Racist state, we just know that you can not run the USA by reading speeches that other people write, that is all Obama is good for is reading speeches.

God bless us all, if he wins.

Exactly what Obama hopes for and is working toward. To get all the illegals to vote. And don't anyone for one minute think that illegals can't vote.

We should have someone there to challenge anyone appearing to be of hispanic descent and force them to show proof of citizenship and if they can't then arrest them...

the perfect plan

Verronica Dahlberg was at St. Marys Church this summer registering voters. I watched and never once did see ask to see any proof? V.D. might be the kiss of death for Obama, she was for DeWine in the last election, and look what happened to him. Sherrod are you listening?
