ARE WE BETTER OFF?

My question today is the City as a whole headed in the right direction? I believe it is, with some glaring problems that must be resolved. New School Buildings. Better students? Lake East Hospital closing. Lost revenue? Please give this some thought.
Are we better off than 10, 20, 40, years ago.

I think we are better off than we were ten years ago. We have developments and progress taking place. Ten years ago it was all in the works. Now bulldozers are working. I think we are turning the corner.

I think the City is moving in the right direction. Sometimes progress can be slow but overall I see the change in the City and am very excited about the future. There are always problems with every town and the grass is never really greener on the other side of the fence. Unless, when you cross the fence you do something to make the grass better by taking control of it and caring for it, the grass I mean...or did I? JT

Electric folks thanx for the power. My concerned question is why did the folks that have p'ville power out of our city limits (N. Perry/Perry Twp) didn't get back on line until 3:00 am and 5:00 am??
Our kids in Perry Twp lost food because of the long period of loss of their power. WHY????
This is not the first time that this has happened, and it should not happen again.

To the post about "out of city limits", get real there was a big wind storm, half of Liberty St. did not get on until 5 AM too, There are people that still do not have power in the city, so stop thinking it is just out of towners.

It was in the paper but why do you write it here? Everyone in this world has done, or said something they wish they hadn't. This is a disease and we will hope he can get help so no one will be hurt by his actions.

To the poster that I removed the comment about a D.W.I. please if you want to post a comment like that you could at least leave your name so the accused knows who is making the comment. I understand it was a private matter, and bringing it to light, how does it help the city or its citizens. Maybe the others that visit here can enlighten me. Maybe I'm wrong.

Maybe they don't want someone with that problem in charge of young kids programs.

How many times do you give someone a chance.

One time you get help.

Two times and your out.

When will it stop, when he kills someone ?

We do not need Drunk Drivers teaching our kids.

Term. What the hell are you talking about, he was not accused, he was convicted of OVI not one time but two times.

What do you think the School Board will do? I see the reasoning with the 2 posts above.

I understand that being an alcoholic can be a disease, absolutely, BUT, getting behind the wheel is not. This goes to a few posts up if you are wondering. I will never agree with anyone who claims that. Putting the alcohol to the mouth is the sickness, and I do understand that the mind is directly effected in making good decisions, BUT, too bad. Call a friend, move close to a bar, hell, just spend your paycheck on Lazer, I don't care what you do to yourself, don't drive the same roads as me and my family. Yeah I know, not real positive...JT

I want to apologize to some of you about removing the post about the person with the D.U.I. conviction. I have heard, and asked many of you what I should have done. Most stated if it was in the newspaper it should have been left up on the blog. They also stated that the author should have directed me to the date and page of the paper so I could verify it. My reasoning was I didn't want to turn this in to a gossip blog. but facts are facts. Please accept my apology. I will try to repost the comment but I'm not very good at this! {[htpp;] [http:] as you can see.
