"458" PART II
I Told you I would watch this house, seems alot of people are. A former resident sent me some pictures of the basement. The stairs removed, the framing going up and the drywall. I have more to post in the future if need be. I must confirm the city building inspectors have also been to the site and I am sure they have seen some things also. This is not an attack on anyone it just easier to stop something before it gets started, and make people aware this will not be tolerated in Painesville.

Please, for those of us who don't know, fill us in on what code or zoning violations we are looking at in the pictures.
Looks like a lawsuit to me would someone please give us Terms addresses so we can go in to his house and take some pictures, we will see if he likes it.
That is a nasty basement. I've been in there before. I can't imagine anyone living there.
It is currently a legal non-conforming use with three units. I know you can't change from one non-conforming use to another. Going to four units would probably do that.
I'm also not sure how the fire code would be with the only exit a stairway from the basement. The windows are glass block, so it would be tough to get out of those in the case of a fire.
I don't know what kind of plumbing and sanitation will be put in the basement, as there is not bathroom down there now.
I'm no attorney, but I don't think someone taking pictures of a place they live in is a crime.
Great a picture of a basement.WoW more lies from the t man its probably his basement, all he does is lie...
This man must be stopped his goal is only to stop mexicans from getting ahead, its really none of his or anyones busines what goes on at a private house.
Mexicans here in Painesville provide the town with cheap labor. wonder how people would feel if prices whent up, they support schools and stores they are the future. please get on board.
Monica L.
9/11 LET'S REMEMBER
Mexicans do not support the schools. We pay for their children to attend and for all the extras they need due to the language situation. Whatever they provide is overshadowed by all the expenses incurred to us. Higher insurance rates, higher medical costs, lower house values, and the list goes on and on.
"Higher insurance rates, higher medical costs, lower house values, and the list goes on and on."
Studies show this to be a wash with the benefits of their presence. And the benefits in some studies outweigh the added burden to society. Guys with degrees and years of research and experience determined this, not some random person on a blog spouting what can only be described as an opinion.
Nice pictures of some house that happens to be finishing their basement. Excuse me for being a little skeptical of the allegations here. Finishing a basement is common in any house and is not generally a fire code violation. Get back to me when you can show me people are then living there and the basement is being used as an additional rental unit. Then we can talk if that itself violates any codes. Right now it is only a person finishing their basement. Do we put this much scrutiny on everyone who refinishes their basement or just this guy?
There are even more studies by "guys with degrees and years of research and experience" that have determined that the illegals are more of a drain on society. Quit spouting your rhetoric. People like you think you can just attack and throw out your unfounded "facts" and we will all follow blindly.
It is going to be an extra unit. The stairs from the first floor to the basement have been removed, so the only access is from an exterior door.

HA
How many times have we all seen the same criticism directed at Term or other posters on the blog. I guess it goes both ways. I will find the study and provide a link. I won't make baseless accusations and not back them up.
wow term, blog is getting out of control. I don't care if some posts in this topic or others agree with you, they should be deleted.
You find your facts, and I'll find mine.
Whats the big deal, if this is how they want to live so what its none of my business.
Mr. Cimaglio (TERM.) do you have any more pictures for us ?
Hey Term, I guess the non-believers and the fish bowl folks can't see the light.
More pictures, provide them.
In addition, will the Inspector of the City of Painesville please come on board and tell everyone what constitutes city code violations; as there seems to be no one that reads or understands this code. If you come on board, maybe just maybe others will get the hint.
I don't care and none of my business statements just reinforce the Apathy of this city. Those statements can only come from those that rent and do not own one lick of property in Painesville. If any of you owned and had equity (do you understand what that word means)all of you would be quite unhappy for the downgrade of your property values.
To the post above, so you are 20 times smarter about codes than the rest of us.
Since you are the self declared expert go back to the first post and answer the question so we all know. What violations are we looking at in the pictures?
I totally agree with what some of you post on here but you should all tone down your attitude a little because the way you come across is combative and sounding like a vigilante group.
Sounding like a vigilante group in this town is going to get you an argument for sure. In case you have never sat back and realized what kind of people this city has, it is a very large group of open minded people who are accepting and appreciative of different races and nationalities.
One of the things I like about living here is when I talk to people who have a problem with other people the problem is usually behavior based and not race/nationality based.... Then I started reading this blog.
Then go over to 458 explain to the owner. {if you can find him} Painesville codes and ordinances and explain building permits, occupancy limits, and what ever you might see as wrong.... Because its about behavior? Not just thumbing your nose to the community.
Mary Poppins
Maybe if we all shut our eyes real tight, 458 and all the other bad thing in town will go away? Didnt work! my husbands still here to.
Joe Citizen can't go over there and enforce codes.
All of you who keep claiming "458" is breaking code, would one of you explain what we are seeing in these pictures?
Good Grief, this is the third time I'm asking, should I start to believe this is some made up problem or is someone going to explain what the pictures are of?
I've stated it multiple times that a four unit apartment is out of code, and it would be out of fire codes. Read the posts, not just want you want to read!
Keep your smartarse answers to yourself. Parking in front of a fire hydrant is against code also, I don't see either one in the photos. What are we supposed to get from these pictures?
The basement issue is not an improvement to boost the properties value. It is an illegal construction project to provide small cubicle sleeping areas for those that have no other place to go. And we are not speaking of any homeless people; unless they are coerced to rent. This basement project will not have any approved electrical, water, sewer, bathroom, ventilation, nor facilities that are safe to live in or around. A basement project that will only have one in/out door and absolutely no other escape route if a fire occurs.
Would any of you want to live in this environment? If you would, then sign-up immediately. We are sure that you would just want to pay the high rent that will be charged for these
Cubicle Slum living arrangements.
After all, this is what it is like in the other areas of those that want to stay in Painesville.
We can hear it now, I do not live this way and I won't live this way, and I really do not care who lives there. You should care, because if you own property and yes if you rent - values will be down: but payments will be up in order to cover the enforcement that is here and does not touch where you may be. Sorry if you do not understand.
There is no fire hydrant in front of the property.
I've made a number of improvements to my basement. Removing the steps as that picture shows was never in any of my plans, The city should look into this and find out what the property owners plans are, thats all anyone should ask.
Are you kidding? Those pictures don't show anything. Maybe his basement is different than yours. By all means look in to it but these pictures don't by themselves show any wrong doing.
