JEDD II IS THIS IN OUR FUTURE?

How that road construction on Mentor Ave. RT.20 from Ferm Dr. to the Mentor Line going? I wonder if some of our city leaders have discussed forming a JEDD, Joint Economic Development District with Painesville Township Trustees? That corridor is perfect to make a JEDD out of. Think I'm off the wall? Take the time to read the Painesville Comprehendsive Plan from 2006 its on the Citys web. site. Page 118-121.

Why a JEDD? I do not think there is a signed agreement between the Township and Giant Eagle. When Giant Eagle was built the township bent over backwards and gave them everything possible to keep them in the township.

If Giant Eagle petitioned and was annexed into Painesville it would save them thousands of dollars a month on utilities probably.

If that happened that would open the door for the fairgrounds and shopping center to do the same.

That sure would be a lot of increased income tax collection.

So what a Jedd in that area would be great for Painesville, GO FOR IT.

You were so skeptical of the last JEDD does this post prove a support for all things JEDD? Is this a confirmation the current administration did something positive for the city?

Anyone in Painesville that is skeptical about the administration working on getting us Jedd money from Twp. land, must not know what a Jedd. is, the best part of it is the city will get tax money from that area.

And yes the current administration did and will keep on doing positive things for us.

That is why I don't understand why a few people are on them all of the time.

I guess that some people always want to think that the rest of the world has an evil agenda. As if their paycheck was dependent on being bad or something. JT

Now who's the skeptic? If this works out for the City and the Township I'm all for it. Maybe I was just stating a thought? I wasn't against the JEDD with Concord Twp. only the fact that the Hospitial Administration Building was left out of it.The Doctors, Nurses, Techs, Housekeeping, Cafeteria staff, and even Security would have to pay the tax. Just not the bigwigs? Why? I hope Painesville City doesnt string an electric wire to that building or its all a sham. Yes you can tax our employees but not us.

They won't give them electric unless they come in. And they will come in. They are just stalling.

Maybe, but money thats tainted by Hospital Administrator greed leaves a bad tate in my mouth, Just doesn't seem right, like bailing ut Wall St. and watching CEO's run off with millions. That building is not included because of "GREED".
Ihope the poster above is right.

Someone should ask the administration of the hospital how the township is to provide services to their campus if a Township cannot collect income tax, and since they are a not for profit organization they dot even pay property tax. Believe me they aren't a charitable organization.

to the last post THE LAKE HOSTIPAL SYSTEM IS EXACTLY LIKE WALL STREET... THEY SHOULD NEVER BE TAX EXEMPT... THE CEO SALARY IS THE SAME AS THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES... THE SYSTEM ANSWER'S TO NO ONE ... ASK JOHN PLATZ THE CHAIRMAN OF THE HOSPITAL BOARD... he will explain the greed... THE TAX COLLECTOR...

Term, I understand where your coming from, but the only ones that could pressure them to do this are the doctors, nurses and the rest of the staff. I cant believe they had the balls to even propose this.

Why don't you focus on fixing the problems in the City leave the Township property alone. Employees of GE and surrounding companies don't want to pay your tax.

Most GE employees are in China. How long you think you got?
