COUNCIL MEETING 06/05/17
Do what they say, say what they mean
Monday nights council meeting ;
The agenda looks nothing like the City Manager's Report? A tale of two cities?
Yes we still have the animal issue tabled?
Rental Dwelling issue is to be addressed as well as vacant property
S-1 property to M-1 The Marijuana Plant Building / Dog kennel/ truck terminal ECT.
That dog and pony show better known as our future Electric Committee is on third reading. Still looking for people to agree on screwing us I guess?
#9 and #10 are interestingly worded?
A Resolution Declaring the amount of taxes that may be raised by levy at the maximum rate authorized by law without a vote of the electors to be insufficient , and declaring the necessity to renew the levy three (3.0) mill tax in excess of the Ten (10) mill limitation for the purpose of general construction and reconstruction, resurfacing and repair of streets, roads, bridges and appurtenances thereto, and declaring an emergency.
In other words they want renewal levies for the road and fire department.
#11 item is the one WOW!
Resolution- a Resolution Imposing a Temporary Moratorium on Medical Marijuana Retail Dispensary Facilities within the City of Painesville. And Declaring An Emergency.
WTF ... So in the City of Painesville you can grow cultivate, process and ship Medical Marijuana but you just can't sell it?
There is a simple solution.... Find someone who wants to sell Medical Marijuana. They go visit our Economic Development Department ask them if they have any unused city property they own, offer to purchase it from them. Zoning issues as well as procedures and the like be damned. and our city father's and mother's along with our administration will grease the skid's for you!
WA-La you have a retail Medical Marijuana Store.
In my whole life.... This whole issue and the people involved are the most hypocritical bunch I have ever witnessed!
19 Comments:
Don't worry, the Council members will have the usual blank looks on their faces if they are asked anything.
Some will likely be busy with their Facebook page and one (guess which one) will pontificate on how Council is looking out for the best interests of ALL the citizens.
Yeah, another Council meeting in the 'ville.
9 & 10 - is this one levy or two? The resolution stated sounds like one for the roads until the last word, emergency. How does this make it a fire levy? Im confused?
So when are you going to tell us about Mr. Rock? You are the one who brought it up.
12:55 Still in the process f getting all the numbers.
11:27 #9 is the road levy
#10 is the fire levy
For 3 readings in July and August there is only one meeting a month and it must reach the election board by August.
10:36 The Pontificator-in-Chief? can't wait for him to take his glasses off and explain things to us!
Term,
True, there is one meeting per month in July and August but we still have two meetings this month.
That allows three meetings for following proper procedures.
They are simply taking the easy way out. No input means no one can disagree.
Pontificate'r? Hach, Fodor or Fitzgerald? I dont recall seeing in glasses Fitzie so it must be one of the other 2 gentlemen. I guess if all anyone can do is be so critical of these people, why doesn't anyone else run for council? Make a change or sit back and complain but complaining doesn't make a difference.
4:39 I was thinking more of the esteem attorney on council?
This shoes how little attention 4:39 pays to what is going on.
Do these attorneys live in Painesville city?
Clair is one, who is the other, alternate or substitute?
4:39 let's think about running council. I'd rather put stick in my eye than run for council. $6,000 a year and more headaches than Bayer has aspirin. Everyone in town gets your phone number and address. Then you're working with that top notch dog and pony show, known as the administration. Everybody and I do mean everybody pats themselves on the back and tells themselves what a great job they're doing. If you rock the boat a little you are thrown under the bus, no discussion necessary. Maybe if they'd raise councils salary you might get a few serious people to run. And there's that little issue called transparency. And that other issue called integrity. If you have it now you won't have it after sitting on council!
Off topic, but I was wondering if anyone else's water has an odor to it first thing in the morning? It's been going on for about a week to ten days. There is also a little brown, or something, color in the sinks, tub, around the edge of the drain metal.
Ms Barth - front page news: Lives in Willoughby. What in the heck stake does she have in this town? Former employee? Same as most of the others that came to speak. If they couldn't speak English and or needed a translator *after 20 years of living here)??? they didn't even live in this city. While they must be allowed to speak I HOPE council will not be smitten by their words. This is not their community it's MINE. I would never consider going to a Mentor council meeting and telling them how I feel, they'd probably laugh out loud when I told them I'm from Painesville. I am very afraid since Mr. DeLeone will be leaving. His talk was spot on. He is the only one with a spine to tell it like it is.
the attorney on council announced his reterment set for mid july. in case you did not hear yet. he announced at meeting last night
Is it true the Painesville Police Chief retired abruptly?
Maybe if council persons did their jobs they'd be worthy of a raise. Until then NO WAY. They don't know their role, ahem Mr. Fodor. They DO NOT make policies and procedures, that is someone else's job. Learn to LISTEN to your people NOT those BooHooing from other communities about the illegals. You want 'em come take 'em to your city or town. Sponsor each one and be responsible for each that you take. BTW Do NOT return them either. My guess is if they stay here they won't filtrate into your fine upstanding community then. Correct?
Didn't Police Chief Powalie say he was quitting because he and his family had been threatened? I thought I saw that he said that in The News-Herald.
9:27 He left that impression in the News-Herald article. Wonder if it had anything to do with 413?
New job he has. Care to Guess where?
1:36. I'd be surprised if it didn't. I'm to the point now that I want EVERY illegal out of this country. No excuses for anyone. To think that they should have any rights here or voice in our government is outlandish, let alone attending council meetings and marching in our streets demanding rights. They're here as criminals just for crossing our borders illegally or staying illegally. Who needs or wants citizens like that. Get out one and all, I say, and anyone who wants to advocate for them can go with them. I still can't get over the woman at the council meeting who had the nerve to call it unconstitutional to get them out. Apparently she hasn't read our constitution.
