"WHATEVER GETS YOU THRU THE NIGHT " john lennon

R.I.P.    John

Let me start off with something you rarely see at a council meeting.
A young lady in her mid-teens Erin Bauer was instrumental in acquiring funds through different fund raisers so the Painesville Police Department  had funds for a replacement K-9. The new member was given the name 'Gold'. Sometimes as all generations do, criticize the younger generation, in comes with the turf so to speak. Erin received a standing ovation for here support in this endeavor . We all owe her a big thank-you!

Now the ordinance dealing with Painesville ordinance 191 passed . But with an amended attachment that landlords were not responsible for securing Social Security numbers or phone numbers.

On the budget I questioned council how much we provided in cash to two non-profits the city supports in Painesville. Downtown Painesville receives $22,000 with no increase this year. Now the Painesville Senior Center receives $25,000 but starting in April the city will throw in another $1,200 a month to cover rental costs. Now since this is the Painesville Senior Center I wonder if Township resident's use the facilities? If they do and how many. and does the Township Trustee's kick in some cash to support the center? And how much? Budget was left on second reading.

I also questioned the bad publicity from the newspaper article I posted in an earlier post. Today on page three the News-Herald had the same story. Councilman Fodor suggested in the new year bringing the Housing Task Force to take another look at this ordinance. See what changes that might need to be made.

Councilman Flock concern was that there are homes being sold in Painesville for $26,000 and how does that not only affect the tax base but also the way Painesville is seen by others. Council President Hach said a home near his also sold for around $26,000  also.

Hillside Dr. will become one-way from E. Main St. to S .State St. the road is not wide enough to be a two way street.

That pretty much sums the night up.

But Thursday evening at 7:30 the Planning Commission has two interesting items. First in the old Wood's Plumbing and Heating building at the corner of S. State and Bank St. a Tattoo business wants to establish itself there. Seems like a poor fit, but that's just me. Also that recycling business that wants to move into part of the Coe MFG. building I checked out their present location on Blasé-Nemeth Rd. I was not impressed. It's the place with the big bins in front.

As I left the meeting I thought to myself "if this CM and council had been around in 2007 we might not have gotten into those terrible AMP-OHIO deals? They at least listen and we seem to have rid ourselves of yes people, arrogant ones and bullies."

After Donald Trumps Muslim remarks what will happen? I predict his number's will go up. Don't believe me? Read his book!

I am not in favor of either business going in at the proposed location
Tattoo parlors are a way of life but they belong in an area zoned commercially or for business.
This is a residential area.

Regarding the old COE property, I think we are settling for second best here.
Of course it was heavy industry for years BUT that sort of industry is not coming back to NE Ohio and we need to face that.
Taking in a recycling center, because it is the first thing the Port Authority (now there is a joke) can sell it to, is a bad idea.
Why not rezone the property, tear down the buildings, and make it into housing? After all, there are really nice condos right down the street. IMO, that would be MUCH better than looking at dumpsters and trucks all day.

5:25 Let your thoughts be known to the Planning Commission Thursday night. If no one comes Planning will rubber stamp both and send it on to council. I don't have any idea where the city's thoughts are on all this. This is Ms. Jenkins ward along with Councilman Fodor living close by. I expect them there Thursday night.

I guess the deal is to destroy a nice neighborhood?

My experience with the current administration and council causes me to conclude that there are more yes people and people with unnecessary arrogant and bully attitudes than before. Term, I think the CM is really playing you.

When and where is that meeting?

4:49 At City Hall 7:30 pm. I am out of town so I guess it's up to some of you to ask questions? Look anything that can be done to sow this down is a good idea.

6:30 You must be new? The former CM sometimes wouldn't give you the time of day let alone facts. Bullies have you ever heard of the names of Hada, Horvath? Maybe I'm being played but we no longer have to listen to some of that. Let's say that there's been an improvement.
You can expand on issues here?

You couldn't stand the last one but you think that being played by the new one is better? You have no clue about the past couple of years do you? Mr Carson can feed you a crock but not Rita. My personal thought is Rita saw through you and didn't want to deal with you or Flock. Neither of you liked her and gave her such a hard time but because your bub Flock likes Carson he's golden to you. Think for your self dude.

I heard there was a problem at Heritage Middle School on Wednesday or Tuesday. Several Police cars. Does anyone have any info? A staff member told me they can't comment on police matters!?!

on Tuesday a fight broke out at Heritage. No suspensions (see handbook). Wednesday the same students looked like they were headed for a confrontation and they called the cavalry in. That's the story.

Another big day for Heritage kids and cops Monday after school. I'm sorry, one cant keep blaming the principal everytime. These kids have no parent involvement, many of the parents work, are kids themselves and most just don't care to bother with raising their own children. Maybe we need to start removing them from the home, create a bootcamp type school and stop the welfare while the child is away. Maybe some will wake up when the dole stops.

Wanna destroy something? Wait till you hear what's up and coming next to our city! I'm sure Mr Term will be happy because no one else may be.

Mr Hada and his wife - the article was in the paper. Congratulations to both. They were active in their community for many years. They got out and did something instead of bellyaching behind the Terminator name.

Please explain what he did that left the City of Painesville better off than before he started?
I can think of several "deals" that went the other way.

So great why anonymous? Mary first the schools ratings were worse when she left then when she started. New buildings? We paid for the buildings not her. Destroying all the names of the schools in the process, need we forget the 50% policy?
Now Joe please list all of his achievements in 30 years? Then I will list all of his screw-ups. Give al the awards you want and if they are proud to receive them good for them.
Those two remind me of the Underwood's Frank and Claire from House of Cards, just on a very small amateur stage.
Thank God and Greyhound there gone!

Well at least he didn't go out and screw up things like these two did?
He just told us.

Who do you suggest? And the Hada's live in Painesville therefore she/they did and still are paying for them. They raised 3 children through the city schools that did NOT need a 50% handout on anything they did at school. They earned their grades the hard way...the right way.

At December 19, 2015 at 6:36 PM , Anonymous TERM>> said...

I believe 4:46 was referring to the failed 50% grading policy nothing to do with finances?

At December 21, 2015 at 1:46 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

I know - please follow along Sir. The Hada children did not need anything to do with the 50 percent grades at Harvey. They had good grades all without taking the 50 percent handout.

At December 21, 2015 at 3:33 PM , Anonymous TERM>> said...

1:46 Agreed the Hada children were exceptional students, the question I believe why was the 50% policy needed? For any student's at Harvey?
