" THE HEART OF THE MATTER " don henley

ORDINANCE 11-11

But I think it's about forgiveness, forgiveness

As we go through all the motions of this Vacant Property Ordinance  I keep going back to where it all began. A simple how do we get banks as well as absent property owners to cut their lawns?  That's what brought on  all this Hell , GRASS!

Now do our city administrators know the difference between unoccupied property and abandoned property?

Look the house can be unoccupied yet the structure as well as the landscaping can be maintained on an empty home. I need to know how an unoccupied home is somehow breaking the law? I will ask the city about  three properties specifically. One on Fern Dr., one on Chestnut St. and one on Hine Ave. These three fell under the Vacant Property Ordinance yet for the most part no one knew they were vacant. A home on Miller Ct. sat empty for over 20 years, it was maintained and not a soul complained about it, what changed?

Well first I believe the administration is now in the process of extracting every last dime they can from city resident's. It's an old-fashioned money grab! This bunch makes running radar  look like child's play. The way a  $26,000 property can have close to $10,000 in fees and fines is disgraceful.

Charging a 90 year-old WWII veteran $6,000 on a house that was maintained but unoccupied could not have been the intent of this ordinance, or was it?

Does the city do this to make Painesville a better place to live? Or have they screwed -up so many things (AMP contracts) they now are looking for any source of revenue? That's my take. Look they received $96,000 for an extension for year 4 and 5 on a garbage contract. As the city manager explained he was looking out for the best interest of the city. Well you know speaking for myself if I had somehow garnered $96,000 for the city you can rest assured the whole town would have known about it. "Hey, look what I got you guys1"

Oh, least we not forget our downtown?  What are the fees and fines on the old Dollar Bank building at the corner of St. Clair and Main St.? Wonder if they have the same structured fees and fines as say the resident with the $26,000 house if it does it will never ever be sold?  Best guess the city will somehow take EBGBee money paint it and put awing's on it.( It still will remain empty) What were they  giving resident's at the Holiday Open House? Chipped paint????. There you want an eyesore there's your eyesore right in the middle of your 1.4 million dollar Downtown  investment. While we are on the subject what about all the other empty store fronts downtown? Are the up on their fines and fees or do we just do after young men and old ladies? I'm not even sure the city parking garage could pass mustard with this ordinance?

/

Is The former CORE building on Renaissance Blvd.  paying a fines and fees? If it is it will never be occupied!

Closer to home who owns that vacant property where the hospital use to sit? Vacant is vacant right? It's vacant even has a fancy name High Point Centre. By as the city claims by the letter of the law who owns it? By chance could the city be in arrears?

You want to move the city forward? Well we took a  small step forward Monday night by reasoning that rehabbing that house that the land bank owned was more important then the fees and fines. That opportunity should be made to everyone who wishes to do the same. Yes, even Bob the Barber son.

The Council should have included an appeal process for all this in the beginning, they didn't. They should now re-write the ordinance and  instead of making it a revenue stream for the city, make it friendly for people who want to invest here. Please remember unoccupied doesn't mean the same as abandoned!

Look don't blame a CM for trying to enhance revenue. Only the Magnificent 7 on council can make this right. They will only do it when you make them!

***************************************************************************

This is from a member of the  Housing Task Force

Andy Flock, Lori DiNallo, Paul Hach and myself sat on a housing task force committee with others trying to deal with all the bank foreclosures during "the great recession."

The idea was to figure out a way to get the grass mowed and the houses/buildings kept up. What  has morphed out of those conversations is a terrible piece of legislation that the Realtor Association hates, the Title companies hate and property owners hate.

In my opinion, this ill-conceived legislation has done more harm to the image of Painesville than anything I can think of from a business community point. This was never the housing task force's  intention nor recommendation. This I believe was the brain child of our former City Manager and her administration and passed by a naïve City Council on the recommendation of the administration. I can only hope this legislation is scrapped and a better plan is developed

Richard Tibbits

PS: by the way after that meeting several years ago the city did not get our support, no other housing task force meeting was ever called to order again.

On a happy note is was reveled today that the Big Bang Theory on December 17 episode that Sheldon and Amy will consummate their relationship. This ought to be rich.

Only in Painesville could we make the cutting of grass into a shakedown.

Simply unbelievable.

I agree, abandoned is not the same as unoccupied. This is a total shakedown. I don't understand how a City can force you to occupy a building you own. If you are in compliance with all zoning and maintenance laws, there is nothing that should force you to live there. Not that this would happen in Painesville, but there were times (early 2000s) when you could potentially just buy a house and hold it for a while and re-sell if for an investment. This whole thing is a joke.

I am still shocked that a City with declining housing prices would discourage someone from buying a house and fixing it up. If RJ didn't buy that house to fix up, what would happen? It would sit there forever, deteriorate further, until it just fell down, and the remaining value would just be the land, which would be a few thousand dollars. The City could then collect a hundred dollars a year in property taxes. Now, once it is fixed up, they could potentially collect over a $1,000. This City is so backwards.

That's really great in Fairport Harbor they have a law that grass must be no longer than three inch. At one time the old Chief of Police had a police officer doing around with a ruler to check for violations. Now that is really dumb. If you wish to change a law get people to sign a petition. And present that to the city to withdraw the law... That's the American way , not bitching on a blog

You seem to be missing the bigger picture.
People can not sign a petition for an issue that no one is aware of.
The purpose of the blog, at least in part, is to make people aware and stir them into action.
This is just step one.

Off subject but you did mention Downtown Painesville, This morning we decided to take the gran kids to breakfast we chose F.A.T.S. on St. Clair street as we sat my husband looked around and sitting at a booth was a gentleman with a sidearm. Now in no way could this person be a law officer for I have seen him around town. We proceeded to grab up the kids and had breakfast at Waffle House in Concord. I guess I wonder what is the Downtown Painesville Organization view on bringing guns in establishments? Am I to assume that he is there to protect me or to harm me? The answer is not worth breakfast. We were not the only ones nervous with the situation. Try all you wish but my first experience downtown was a bust this holiday season!
The bill at Waffle House was over $35.00. Wonder what other's think?

8:16 And thanks for my Saturday morning wake-up. I don't know exactly what I would have done? Just me I probably would have ate breakfast. If my grandchildren were with me I would have done the same thing you did. I believe in the second amendment and at the same time don't want to feel like I'm in Miss Kitty's Salon. I believe in the second amendment just not to the extent some do. I have sent your post to a member of the Downtown Painesville Organization. Let's see the response?
We live in a violent time and I guess we should be wary of everyone.
Would be interesting what this person would have done if the management asked him to leave gun at home? By the photo it wasn't a C &C situation the gun was holstered on his hip.

Now these folks have a problem with someone arming themselves? Many in my family have a cc and don't leave home without their weapon. If the situation makes someone nervous then the above person did the right thing. We have the right to bear arms, you had the choice to leave being uncomfortable and an establishment has the right to allow/not allow someone in with a weapon. But - had a situation happened and that person had to use it on a criminal I'd bet person leaving FATS would be singing another tune. Everyone has rights -

Yes, we were there too and I have a picture of this. We know the individual and the thought of this guy with a gun is a more than worrisome. We did not have grandchildren so we stayed and ate our breakfast. When we walked outside I scanned the windows for a sign that said; Fire Arms not permitted on the premises. There wasn't one. Lesson learned, we are now looking at other establishments in town who post: No Firearms Permitted, in plain sight.

And yes, I guess it's a right to bear arms but are we that afraid we know arm ourselves over a plate of eggs? God help the chef! If I want to live in the wild west I'll move to Tuscon. Maybe F.A.T.S. Should called the Shoot Out Coral and Buffet?

What if this had been a legal Hispanic man in light of the murder last summer? Would that have cleared the establishment?

I think I would be a lot more worried about a gun that is hidden from view than one that I can see.
Of course, the down side is that I would not know about the hidden gun until something happens.
There is absolutely nothing wrong if the gun is carried in sight (other than the owner is likely to be hassled by every officer that sees him).
BTW, what difference does it make if he is, or is not, a police officer?

I personally think more citizens should have gun permits and be carrying guns, and I hope that every time there is a bad guy now, that there is a good guy ready with a gun to try to save people from being injured and/or killed. But I don't like the open-carry. I know it doesn't make perfect sense, but when every gun is out in the open, then how do you know which one is going to be used for harm. I think it is better to have them concealed, so we don't have to see and think about each one. I really think it is easier then to tell when one is pulled out of it's concealment and is intended for harm. Then hopefully there will be a good guy there to pull theirs out and save people. Just my personal opinion, but I think the open-carry is nerve-wracking and scary and confusing, and I don't like it.

Two different families in FATS took a picture of a man holstering a gun while eating? A person you don't know? In a public place? What if someone in FATS snapped photos of you and your grandkids eating breakfast in a public place? Would you have been upset? Offended? Bet you would have - and I'd bet you would have told the person off too. People really need to mind their own business - what you did - is how real problems start.

9:14 Thank you for the info.

9:13 Well a police officer has numerous hours of training. Now someone can just care a gun if he's got the bucks for the bullets, gun and holster. BTW That's a big difference.

9:02 I believe there would have been a different reaction if the man would have been Hispanic or Black.

The answer from a Downtown Painesville representative
"If it is a policeman on or off duty no problem.
A business has to post a sign saying no firearms allowed if they do not want guns in their establishment. This is my understanding."

Shop Downtown Painesville!

4:48 I guess it's a free country, right? Look if I walked in to a place to cause people harm, best guess you would shot the person with the exposed gun first? How does that help the rest in the establishment? I have no idea why this person feels the need to holster his gun in public?
4:32 I concealed gun would only be used when the situation calls for it. Exposing it only makes you the first target?

At November 21, 2015 at 5:34 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Term,
9:13 here and that doesn't really address the difference.
Hours of training does not make an officer any more or less subject to all the things that we all face daily.
IOW not everyone who is an officer, with all that training, should be an officer or be carrying a gun.
It isn't by chance that police have a high divorce rate.
They are just people like me or you.

BTW, most of the guys who became cops when you and I were young were hoods when they were teens.
Then they found out they could bust heads behind a badge and get paid for it.
That was a better deal.

I have this argument with guns folks occasionally. I do understand reasons people might carry openly. But I think open carry is a stupid idea in public. It makes people uneasy and that's counter productive. If you must carry, carry concealed. Carrying openly to make a statement is a total misfire. Causing innocent people to leave a restaurant because YOU have a cause, or are making a statement, is loony. I understand it, but it's still loony.

At November 22, 2015 at 6:47 AM , Anonymous TERM>> said...

5:34 Not the way I witnessed it? First growing up I only knew two people who became cops. Dennis Soke who's main fault was driving Dodges a little to fast. Mike Holly who was a grade behind me at Harvey that we worked together at Falcone's Mike was hardly a bully as was Dennis who served in the Military Police. Both served honorably as PPD. Now I know not to many police officers but they don't seem to be or had been bullies? My nephew is a police officer I know he wasn't.
Here's the problem with police officers, there job consists of seeing things many of wish not to see. Plus they have a job where it seems that everybody is telling them a lie. It may make you jaded after a while. If someone is threatening me I will take my chances with a cop 100% of the time over some guy in a restaurant. As far as F.A.T.S. I agree with a comment I'll take my eggs without gun powder, please. That's just me. There3 are other places to eat.
Now lets say there are four Hispanic guys arguing in Spanish at FATS with two having sidearms, You want to bet how fast that place would empty?

Sure police get extensive training and con-ed but if ever a situation arose I know who would be able to defend me. 7:19 Are you meaning FATS is closing? 8:32 No I haven't. Yet I can go to a gun show buy a pistol and holster without a background check, wear it unconcealed because Ohio is an open carry state. Why Dennis wasn't in class with me that day I don't know, but I remember it with much fondness. Nice sunny spring afternoon, looking out the window of HHS, Dennis is in one of his HEMI's and lays rubber in all four gears down Washington St. from just past Gilmore's to wood street. When the dust cleared, he was gone. Many of us never knew what a HEMI was till he and his cuz bought them.

I am quite upset that there is an open-carry law in Ohio now, and that I, nor anyone else that I know, knew about it. How can that happen on such an important issue? Who signed this into law? I have no problem with the concealed-carry, and I think it's a good idea, but I think the open-carry makes it too confusing to tell the good guys from the bad, and to tell who is going to start shooting and who is not, and I cannot believe that this did not come up for a vote from the citizens at the very least. Who did this?

3:11 Nothing new I believe Ohio is one of 32 states with open carry? The only stipulation: you can not carry a LOADED firearm in a vehicle. This law has been around for a long time.
Now with all this terrorist talk shouldn't there be background checks for gun shows?

As far as F.A.T.S. They have the right to decide if firearms are permitted in their establishment. Along with your right to decide to go there or not.
I will admit open carry will grab the attention of law enforcement.

"Gun Show Background Checks"
State Laws, Known as the "gun show loophole."

Most states do not require background checks for firearms purchased at gun shows from private individuals-- federal law only requires licensed dealers to conduct background checks.

So where and whom sold the guy at FATS his gun? Best answer we don't know.

COE property's future was a news story in the News Herald within the last few days. I didn't see "scrap yard" mentioned.

About guns: Open carry has been the law for a long time. Open carry in public places usually brings law enforcement to check the person out. I seriously question the motives of anyone not an LEO, carrying open in a public establishment. Why would he do that?
There has been an argument about the right of lawful citizens to buy and sell firearms from each other for decades. The noise about it comes from politicians, of course, and those not familiar with the hobby of gun collecting and the shooting sports.

This paragraph is for 8:41, Interviews by law enforcement/corrections people of convicted felons reveal that they prefer to purchase their guns off the street from another criminal in private. If you’re a thug, a gun show is the worst place to buy a gun as law enforcement IS THERE watching. Licensed dealers WILL do the required background checks, or the feds will revoke their license, minimum, putting them out of business. That leaves private citizens who can lawfully buy and sell their own firearms. I'd say 99% of patrons at any gun show are gun enthusiasts, competition shooters or collector types looking for supplies, spare parts, a different gun to learn. Or a citizen looking for a gun for self-protection. That’s all very lawful.

At November 23, 2015 at 11:39 AM , Anonymous TERM>> said...

11:22 please explain what an LEO is, if its not a Law Enforcement Officer? Now think back a couple of months when an illegal person in our town was going to gun shows buying guns taking them home and selling them to other illegals. Not saying your wrong but if an illegal can operate in this manor why can't a terrorist or someone who help one.

I believe the Second Amendment is a Right. I just don't want it to be a right to easily kill us. Oh, and can we talk about that 1% what are their motives?

Look defend the Second Amendment all you want but please don't just dismiss all the problems that 1% can cause. If it happened here in Painesville rest assured its happening in other places. I even believe it's more than just 1%. And yes we can do a better job of controlling these people. Most want it and yet the NRA is in fear of this becoming a snowball affect for more and more gun control laws. Listen if something happens like it did in Paris I believe people will demand laws we haven't thought up yet.

No doubt the "no loaded gun in the car" was to protect people from road rage, but now, people are gunning people down in cars for nothing more than they felt like it. If I had a gun, I would think a very important place to have it, and have it loaded, would be my car.

Its because they know that anti gun zealots will chip away at guns rights and never stop until they achieve their agenda. These zealots want control, control of everything. If you do then you are clueless.
Heck, they seem to have all kinds of weapons and I would bet a lot on money that none of them came from a gun show.

To Had it & 5:18,

That was a very telling statement; "I can't believe there are people like yourself among us, who can't see past the sight line on your guns."

Speaking of the worst, ISIS is not going to risk detection by buying arms at a gun show, just like most of the common criminal element. ISIS buys in bulk. That's why 11:06 used the stupid word. As for the Charleston shooter, that man was pure evil. You can’t legislate good mental health.

There's an old saying; "Gun people are good people." You must not personally know a owner/collector/competitor yourself. If you did, I’m sure they would explain the reality of things to you, as a friend would. The gun people I know would drop a dime on anyone who would commit a crime that would jeopardize the rights of honest gun owners.
So I guess I have no choice but to assume you are an under informed person. Not stupid, just under informed.

I have to jump in here. With the way the laws are presently it would be no big deal to acquire assault weapons in this country along with the other goodies. I see no reason to believe that many want to take anyone's guns. That is false and damn near impossible. But let's scare people into thinking they can and will. as to make them unreasonable?

Now we all know ISIL is a rabid bunch of religious fanatics. So what transpired today in Colorado at a Planned Parenthood site is also caused by a religious zealot. How many will view his/her actions today to say as this is what God intended? I bet more than you might think.

Look I don't claim to know God but it doesn't seem to be his wish that we all kill each other. From anything from religious cleansing to abortion rights. Wonder why we can't wait to let him/her sort it out?

"Trump seen"?? Nice!

Right. The party of hate, as opposed to the party who is willing to give away our entire country, until there is no longer a country. I certainly agree with 10:11 about Carly Fiorina and her false abortion rant, though. Stood up there and lied and lied and lied; this probably SHOULD be attributed to her. It also reminds me about one of the Democratic news channels; I think it was CNBC (?) during the Ferguson riots. I think the host's name was Rachel Maddow, or something similar. Went on for weeks about how that black kid has his hands up, etc., when he did not. And what about the black girl right in the beginning of the Ferguson mess who was the first one to say it, and declared on national TV and to the police that the kid has his hands up and was saying "don't shoot" when he was not. There are so many liars now, it's hard to keep track. But people need to go back and hold these people responsible, and Carly Fiorina and anyone else who fed that lie need to be held to task for this, along with the murdered who did it. And did anyone ever figure out where that video came from and just what it was, because that seems to need to be looked into, to be sure. If that wasn't a Planned Parenthood video, who's video was it? Apparently we need to be putting these shooters in the square like they did in the olden days. Or something worse.

Speaking of the party of hate: The Democratic party has shown over and over again that it hates the police, and is unwilling to see two sides of any story when a black person is killed by a white cop. (Let black people gun down white people, however, and you don't hear a mention of that.)During all of this uprising by black people, the Democrats have consistently and immediately sided with the blacks, well before any evidence was in, and this certainly includes Obama. I'd like to know why that is. If they want to truly help the blacks, maybe they should be telling them to help their darn selves and, by the way, maybe they should listen to the commands of the police, and not get themselves killed while they are trying so hard to have a lawsuit against them.

On a side note, I'd like to know why the police have been allowing the Black Lives Matter group to shut down major streets and commerce. This whole thing is so out of control, and maybe someone can explain to me why the Democrats immediately side against the cops. It's to the point where no one will even try to make the blacks comply with anything in any way, because everyone is so damn afraid of being called a racist, and surely the Democrats will be right there saying it for them. And to the point they are letting them shut down major streets and commerce. Unbelievable.

I defer anything about abortion to those who choose to fight that war.

I would like to dump in this fact in about AK47's. A real AK-47 is a fully automatic weapon. A military weapon. The mail order variety are lookalikes. They are fully legal semi-automatic just like many common sporting rifles. You cannot buy one mail order. A real AK-47, fully automatic, can be legally owned, but is very closely regulated and monitored by the FED. AND, they cost a fortune. You cannot buy one mail order. Just trying to keep things clear.

Could this clown have found a real AK-47? Maybe, but I would be really surprised.

9:27 Thanks for clearing that up . Am I to believe this man had every right to possess this gun?

7:27 I assure you Democrats don't hate police. If you have read this enough you know the respect I have for police officers. How many police officers does it take to apprehend to people fleeing in a car? 137 bullets fired? It's just at times when I see a police officer unload 16 rounds into a person brought down with the first or second shot I have to question what was the motive? The time I see a suspect running from an officer and he fires seven shots in his back I have to wonder also. Look you have his vehicle as well as his ID why are you chasing him? If he's running away from you he is no threat to you? He will surface at home.
Now the police shooting of the 12-year old in Cleveland? Well I see it as justified. Why? Who let's their child take the orange tip off a realist looking gun that does shoot and let's them play in the park? Where was the parental guidance? Was the sister told to watch her younger brother? I believe if he not had the gun he would still be alive today. You want to blame police? Well let's also make the family responsible for that boys death that day. It's not really a political situation is it? Can you condone the actions of that police officer in Chicago? I can't.

11:02/ 2:12 No one should want to shut up anyone. Please don't compare a teenager in Ferguson with a person wanting the Presidential endorsement.
I mentioned the day she made that comment somewhere in America blood will be shed. She didn't even mention the right video. And she knew it. There are what 350,000,000 people in this country and amongst them is a fraction that will take this very seriously. That means we must temper our comments. I am now waiting for a nut to go into Jersey City to take out some Moslems? Truth be told there were no Thousands clearing Moslems there on 9/11 only what we have is a politician who cannot take back a statement (Trump). Now what he might have seen were cheering mobs in Iraq, or the West Bank. Odd he doesn't mention the prayer's from Iran?
I don't blame any party but to the wise Republican's out there if you want to hand the race over to Hillary let the Donald be your nominee!

The biggest mistake all of us seem to make is we seem to all paint with a broad brush.
Are we at war with Radical Islam? Yes
Why am I not sure about letting Syrians in? Look if they won't fight for their country do you really think they will fight for ours?
Everyone should honor facts.
Why doesn't the administration want to say Radical Islamism's? Probably the same reason the United States would always fight the Nazi's and not the German people. Lot of German immigrants here in America at that time. Same goes for the Italians. We were always fighting the Axis. Yes there was a reason.
Sad to say I have witnessed many fearful Americans the last month.... ISIL loves it!

I for the life of me can't believe Donald Trump is still leading in the polls? Look I vote Republican 100% of the time but in no way will I ever vote for this man. I rarely agree with Term but is this case he might be right. I question also the Anonymous people who make rude comments here. Also you can say say Term is crazy but I give him credit for telling us what he believes.
I also know without him we wouldn't know half the things going on around here.

I'm a former Democrat -- as recently as voting twice for Obama (sorry America, there wasn't anyone better, in my opinion, so he was the default the second time around) -- and I will vote Trump if he gets the nomination, and I will vote Republican in the Primary to try to make sure he does. He's no more immature than the rest of the nuts; he just flies his flag higher. But he can't do worse than the others, and I think he will do a lot better. At least he tells it like it is, and names all of the problems that Americans know we have, and that no other person running for the presidency will speak of. Americans are so sick and freakin' tired of watching our country go to hell while our politicians wallow in stupidity, I think Trump will win the Republican nomination, and I think he will win the election by a landslide. And shame on the rest of the people running this country for letting it come to this.

4:31 I guess your just old and scared? Really your reasons are worthless, you want to witness stupid? Elect this guy.

Today our U.S. Senate failed to pass a bill to keep people on known terrorist lists from purchasing weapons. Fear of the NRA no doubt. Sure let them purchase weapons "it's the American way!" Got to go another mass shooting in California.

Ever wonder why the places these politician's work place are gun free?

12:44, this is 4:31, and you must be young and naïve. For one thing, look at your first paragraph, and how you put me down for wanting Trump. Now look at your second paragraph as you describe the stupidity that is going on in our government. As you age, you learn how to look at ALL the facts, and all the details, and all the history that you know and have lived, and you realize that sometimes you have to change tactics. Sometimes you have to get outside the box to stop the insanity that is going on. You know, the insanity you outlined very well in paragraph two. If you think there is someone else running who will potentially do a better job than Trump, I think you are sadly mistaken, and I don't think we have room for another four or eight years of more of the same. We are almost done-in now. No more time for the same ol' crap. Trump, for one, would know we need to pass a bill to keep known terrorists from buying guns, and he wouldn't be afraid to say it or do it. And hopefully loud and crazy enough to push the rest of the jerks who just voted no to vote yes. There are a lot of facets to this, and I do think he is the one who just might start to save us. Certainly no one in office now, nor anyone else running, shows any promise whatsoever in doing so. It will just be more of the same, and we are out of time.

So, 12:44,
Do you hear what 4:31 is saying? I agree with 4:31 that our other choices, in office and not, are pretty piss poor also. And that Trump may not be worse than them? 4:31 is not alone. Pretty sad situation isn't it.

My only comfort is, the president, congress critters, and senators have experienced government employees at their disposal for advise. Unfortunately, our current president never listens to THEM, just his political contemporaries.

Personally, I hope Trump gets the boot in the primaries. But if he doesn't, and gets the NOM, I'll vote with 4:31. One of Hillary’s self-proclaimed favorite books is “1984.” The phrase “big brother” came from that book. If she wins, watch what happens if “big sis” gets the office. She has a unusual distain others unless they can serve her somehow.

Politicians work places? Gun free? Gun free zones in the capital may lower the number of accidental gun discharge in bathroom, by reducing the overall number of firearms in the area. But that's about all it does. Criminal don't obey the law anyway.

5:48 I guess I along with many others do not believe Mr. Trump can add anything to our problems. Yes he is a successful businessman but remember in private business there is no Congress or Senate let alone the Supreme Court. I don't believe I have to explain do I? The only reason Trump is running is he was embarrassed by Obama at the Correspondence Dinner. Next on his list? Explaining the birther problem with Ted Cruz. Watch and learn. I can only hope some of you don't get what you wish for?
