" TIME HAS COME TODAY " the chamber brothers

Can't put it off another day I don't care what the others say

Peabody Coal Comes Clean, But Not Really?

The New York Attorney Generals office  after a year long investigation Peabody Energy says it's going to do a better job of how it discloses the many financial risks it faces around climate change.

AND

In Peabody's  next filing to the S.E.C. Peabody agreed to a fuller disclosure of the risks as well as projections by the International  Energy Agency of lower coal demand in the future.

Revelations from this agreement add to Peabody's considerable record of other misstatements, including ones like this on energy poverty, as well as a host forward-looking financial statements that no one believes anymore. That particular distrust is evident in the performance of the company, which has said time and again that everything's all right even as Peabody has lost 90% of it's stock value since early 2014.

Peabody's disclosures are chronically misleading,  at best, we'd rank among the starkest examples of a lack of transparency to it's so called transparency around the Prairie State Energy Campus in Illinois. That poorly preforming power project, spearheaded by Peabody Energy, has saddled more than 200 Midwest communities with electricity costs that are unaffordable and stand to hinder their economies for the next 30 years. Subpoenas have been pending for some time at the SEC and the case is being pressed into two lawsuits on the matter. At issue is Peabody's wildly optimistic projections and estimations that sold Prairie State as a source of cheap electricity to towns and cities now being crushed by the deal. Peabody's behavior was abominable and has not been forgotten: It promised the Moon on that project, built it then walked away.

IEEFA press release.

Well now we know why Council-President Hada was so worried about being able to cook that Thanksgiving Turkey? And CM McMahon thought this was a great opportunity. They were lied too! Doesn't excuse them they were warned by many they just must be strong willed people?

Todays politics? Can any of my Republican cousins wonder what the uproar had been if Barack Obama had released a Rap song/video when he first ran for President?  Seems Ben Carson thinks that's the way to go! Guess it's just a double standard for some?

I find no excuses for Hada, McMahon and everyone else who voted for this crap. And I find no excuses for them even if they were lied to. Any fool knows, and knew, that getting into a decades-long obligation to coal in this day and age was asinine, and that's if we didn't buy-in to own it. The fact that they BOUGHT this plant, etc., would have to go so far past being naïve, that it's unfathomable. I don't buy it. They also had many citizens in town telling them no, that this is so far beyond stupid, and I was one of them. I would just look for ulterior motives. We do know that these companies were giving out prizes, like college scholarships, do we not? This knowledge alone, along with the horrendous stupidity on the part of anyone who wanted to sign on, should trigger federal investigations, as far as I'm concerned. I will NEVER forget McMahon's fudging of words, evasion of words/meanings/details of the contracts, etc., and just plain not telling the truth, and the same goes for Hada. They were shady and slimy about all of this, as God knows they would have had to be, because they were getting us into hell. The citizens knew it, and they must have known it. And I'll NEVER forget Hada's smug, so-THERE look, as he looked straight out into the audience, directly at the people who opposed the deal, and said he "PROUDLY" voted yes. Investigations is all I'm saying. Investigations into everything.

6:59 Amazing isn't it and no one was held responsible?

I'd like to see Rita McMahon (former city manager, for those who do not know) and former councilman Hada come to a council meeting and talk to us about this now. I'd like to hear them try to fudge the truth now. I'd like to hear them tell the truth now. I'd like to hear them try to explain to the people of Painesville, Ohio, just why they did what they did to us.

And on another note, I'd like to see former councilman Hada and former councilwoman Abby Delamotte (sp?) come to a council meeting so we can ask them if they take any responsibility for the woman recently killed from the illegal. I would like to ask them just how do they feel now about going national and telling illegals to come to Painesville, because we love illegals and we welcome them here. I would like to ask them if they feel anything at all about the fact that that woman would probably be alive and well right now if not for their reckless and senseless actions.

Really, I'd like to know. What about it guys? Want to come and explain yourselves to us now? Because we would certainly love to hear it.

11:17 Like that will ever happen? We give awards like citizen of the year to some mentioned.

Believe me they have no regrets!

3:14 Sorry how did Joe Hada get included? I never witnessed him make a statement on the issue?
Joe always sent the message to follow the law?

Unless my memory has failed me, I remember that it was Joe Hada who helped Delamotte in her efforts to bring illegals into this town. Maybe I'm not remembering correctly; there was a man that was with her doing that. He was a bit of a sidekick, but very much involved and along for moral support. Maybe someone can tell us who that was, if not Hada, but I remember that it was Hada.

France closed their borders. Unfortunately it took a major tragedy to do so. We had a tragedy here and we learned nothing did we? I can only hope Trump is our next president with Carson as VP. And they are able to follow through with what they claim they will do.

7:29 I assure you Joe Hada is no ones sidekick, your thinking of someone else.

Trump/Carson WOW! Well it's your vote. How much will that wall and deportation cost? Also Carson is a wonderful, excellent surgeon I just do know if politics is either's forte? Everything is simple, right.

Anyone who is still spouting the old, tired refrain, including Obama and Term, that it will take billions to deport all of these illegals, must think the rest of Americans are idiots. We now have E-Verify. If it is made mandatory, then anyone who is not eligible to work here will not be able to work here. They will have to go HOME. Any employers still hiring illegals will be easy to find, and the illegals that are left will be a lot easier to find and deport. The adage that we "can't deport all these people" does not hold up, because we won't have to. They found their way here, and they can find their way HOME. They surely know the way, and they can just turn around and go back the same way they came.

7:14 First how will it make it easier to find these employer's.
Also remember one thing I have learned traveling around our sun almost 66 times. Money runs the place. There is no way the establishment Republican organization will let these two be their candidates period!
Same with the Democratic establishment letting Bernie Sanders be there nominee. Don't expect these people on any major party ticket.
Best guess a year out... Clinton / Castro vs. Rubio / Kasich
