"AUTUMN CHANGES" donna summer

BULLETIN*

Seems many homes in Heisley Park had circuit breakers fried yesterday. City crews told residents there was a problem at SAS Rubber Co.? Some homes only had circuit that just tripped one house lost the whole panel? My question did this happen anywhere else? If I was a resident of Heisley Park I'd want to know who signed off of the on electrical inspection? Painesville Fire Department was called in to inspect. Seems the homes might not have been grounded properly. Pay attention Liberty Green residents.

Update and official response from Painesville Power On Heisley Park Power Issue

Yokohama Tire (SAS Rubber) on Newell Street had a fault in their primary metering platform on the pole. At this point, it appears to be an animal contact issue that started the event. We have contacted our consultants, GPD, to review our Load Coordination/Land Flow study to see if our protection setting for our breakers and fuses need adjustments or changes for the area. We will plan on installing animal protection on the new Primary Metering platform when we install it. We also look at some means to get the message out to customers about some of the things that they could do to protect their property from these types of disturbances.

Yokohama Tire? Could these be imported Kamikaze Squirrels brought into  Painesville? Or are these just run of the mill Rita Suicide Squirrels that just can't take it anymore?  You think you might need an adjustment? Who will bear costs for repairs?  Best guess not the squirrels. Only way to protect your property; Move .

"Too many days Hoping and Praying"

Well before we get to the election results let's check in on City Council.

Both items were left on first or second reading. Councilman Tom Fitzgerald came home from his world tour.
Councilman Flock is counting down the meetings, Hell he didn't even want to go into Executive Session last night.

Now something I noticed today in "Election Painesville"

First ALL Painesville City Schools were closed today even though only one is used for voting. O.K. I understand the reasoning but then two things confused me. Sometimes in life we learn by watching. I clearly remember my neighbors and strangers that came to school to vote on election day. It seemed to instill the importance of voting. Now it's just another off day.

Now Morley Library was a poling place and since school was closed guess who were the most people in the library? Yes school kids, sorta defeats the purpose? Then I gave a ride to a Chestnut Street resident to vote. Did we go to Chestnut Elementary to vote? No. Well then the Church across from Lake Erie College? No. But the church across from City Hall. I seem to miss the logic here, must be the reason I go up to the Board of Elections to vote at my convenience in October?

Issue I was a definite YES vote. for me.

2 and 3 must be confusing with ads No on 2 Yes on 3 ect, Best guess here was if you want the law to pass you voted yes on both 2 and 3. If you are against the the law you voted NO on both 2 and 3. Sorry no recreational Pot in Ohio? I guess your stuck with the same old same old?

Painesville school board vote for no more than 3 and there are only three names? Guess everyones a winner here.

Issue 6 Lakeland College, Now this is a government body that should show us their books. My vote of NO was due to the finances as well as property taxes in Lake County with the burden of expenses. Then  the college only charging a small amount of money for say out of county students. See we presently subsidize Geauga County? Think the college could survive if that amount was all that Lake County students had to pay and no county taxpayer  paying a dime?  Well OK it passed.

Congratulation's to the winners, especially Christine Shoop the new "rookie" on council.
Also a Thank-You to all that took the time, money, and energy to run. No one should have run unopposed.

Again for the second election cycle no dirty tricks? Wonder what or who changed?

As some of you know I view council meeting as the best comedy on a Monday night. Sorta like Saturday Night Live for the locals. Now I will admit the past few councils can't hold a candle to the Horvath, Hada, Flock, Becks council's those were classics. All started by "everyone shutoff your vibrators!" If I'm correct I see dissention ahead ? Wait until the next election for Council -President? This should become interesting?  As far as DeLeone and Jenkins no more rookie mistakes please. Wonder how good MNL will be? Mike your dream stays alive, please also remember we already have one Law Director? Katie find a seat away from Mrs. DiNallo.

Want to find out how informed your council people are? You know that $500,000 Battery building behind the light plant be surprised what an Elf told me? Ask them what Santa's presently has stored in the building? It ain't batteries.
Merry Christmas people! Ever wonder the cost for the lighting of Downtown Painesville?Well it's going to get even more expensive.

New slogan "JEB CAN FIX IT!........ OK  now who can fix Jeb?

I voted no for Lakeland also, besides not wanting to pay more taxes there was an article in the news hreald maybe two months ago that the enrollment is dropping, also I've seen some people that have gone there and still don't have the skills needed for employment. it is also a place to keep the mentally ill and the handicapped who the majority will never hold employment with enough income to keep them off assistance busy during the day. we are paying all around for them yet many middle and lower income kids whose parents make just over poverty can't afford to go

Who are they trying to kid? That platform and it's contents belong to the City of Painesville. Not SAS Rubber? You think this bunch will ever take responsibility for anything?

The city had meetings for the staff on election day, non teaching staff did not have to attend and they weren't paid for the day either. So, taxpayers did get their moneys worth. If you clearly remember your neighbors and strangers coming in to vote you should clearly be able to figure out how much the times have changed. I feel safer knowing throngs of strangers aren't entering the buildings where my children are learning. I'm gonna guess most of the people you refer to being in the library were kids out of school. So what's the problem? They were in a library not running the streets? Aeems you have a concern with everything? Or, perhaps there were so many kids you had to wait a while to use a computer for your blog?

Dude, you're slipping. Yes only 3 names on the ballot but the paper mentioned a Chris Bihary on 2 separate articles. One for sure was the results in todays paper, his name was there. Mistake on the board of election, mistake on the paper, mistake on Mr Bihary's part? No clue but on 2 different occasions there were 4 names mentioned.

That power issue happened all over town. I was shopping and the power went out at the store, then came home to half the neighborhood with no power and a pole fire on Ravenna. It was like a brown out. There was a weird flicker that happened several hours before the power went out.

I'm trying to figure out who the people are that actually voted for this Lakeland levy? It sure wasn't me. I don't understand why it is a struggle to support our K-12 schools yet people always support Lakeland, the seniors, Metroparks, and other levies. Why should every taxpayer in the county be subsidizing 20 somethings to take college courses or 50 year olds that want to take a few classes. They are trying to turn that into a university it seems like. So now we pass a levy to build new buildings, when should I expect the next levy to operate them? I just don't understand how this passed. I'm sure it's great to have a good community college, but does it really impact your property value?

6:04 Nah, the WTF moment will be to precious!
5:37 It always passes.
5:27 Were any homes damaged in your neighborhood?
4:42 Maybe I am? when I voted there were three names? Chris should have informed me. I would have gladly passed it on. Hell, I'd have voted for him. I see no reason Mrs. Clair would have dropped the ball maybe a misunderstanding?
4:37 So then your OK with throngs of unsupervised adults and students both at the library? I guess I just believe those kids would have been safer in class Tuesday. And yes many times I use the library computer room as well as read magazines there.

6:04 Call your council person when they tell you then ask them who paid for what? Priceless! Also ask what they did with the old crap.

With thoughts brought forth by the likes of 4:37 it's no wonder our student's rank last in the area? Let them mingle with the homeless at the library or run the streets no I can understand why they might not be safe in this teachers classroom.

First we can't make it, now we can't even distribute it? Wonder what's coming next? Oh, and it seems we can't even purchase it correctly?

Speaking of the teacher that seems to believe we are getting our money's worth one question. You are all college graduates and most have master degree's. Will you please explain why you people need some much supervision?
It seems most of you can't sharpen a pencil without an ok from the administration, what gives? Maybe we could spend more on education if we weren't babysitting you guys?

I'm not a teacher but do have children. The employees have no say in what goes on the school calendar and don't get to pick and choose their calendar days off. Some schools have election day off some don't and you should get over it. Maybe with all the bomb scares that went on last year the board decided to play it safe and keep all intruders out. You got your money worth because it wasn't a paid day off for teachers, and the others lost pay. Therefore it cost you taxpayers nothing additional. Sounds like there are a few jealous people in the audience. I suppose if the kids were wandering the streets, loitering at stores that would be better for them than the library?

9:18 AM - Did the kids have the choice to be in or out of school that day? No, so spending it at a library is a positive thing. With the likes of you, I hope you don't have any kids. You must have had to wait to use the computers too.

Where are you coming from 12:31? What brought this comment on? What and which school system are you talking about? Most working people realize who the boss is and respect their decisions. So if the boss wants someone to ask permission before doing something that's what should be done. Has nothing to do with a degree or the need for babysitting.

Depends on who you mean by "employees".
If you think about it, all the people employed by the schools are "employees".
Now if you mean the teachers and maintenance staff, you are likely correct, they have no say in the matter.
If you mean ALL employees, then you are not correct.
Someone, who is employed by the schools, makes up the calendar year.

"Therefore it cost you taxpayers nothing additional".
While it is true that nothing "additional" was added to the bill but, it does cost the tax payers when the staff is paid for the day while nothing was accomplished. IOW, the students received nothing that furthers their education. There is a cost to everything.

As a closing statement, I think you missed Term's point. The schools were out for "safety" and the students were at the library but those same terrible people, who might harm them at school, were at the library to vote.
That makes sense to you?

6:47 How much supervision do you people need? Looking at all that high priced coordination coming from the board office it appears you people don't know how to teach? In ending every year my son gets a new teacher or two with a different set of rules and styles. Could you people please get on the same page? Oh, and so you know common core doesn't work. I might have just answered my own question

9:03 Again I must have not explained myself. If the schools were closed to keep kids safe why have voting at Morley Library where the kids went because the school's were closed.? No one knows who's going in to vote no one knows who's going to the computer room, or just going in to take out books. That said I believe the kids were in a safer environment at their school even Chestnut Elementary than at the library. Some people just disagree?
The logic confounds me?

At November 6, 2015 at 12:11 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Well I guess the all the parents are at fault for allowing their kids to go out side to an unsafe place then. Blame them.

At November 7, 2015 at 6:38 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

OK Just who decides the school calendar? The Superintendent or the board? I believe the board approves it but who sits down in front of them and figures it all out? The residents do not. The students do not. The teachers do not. The non teaching staff do not. City council does not. City manager does not. City employees do not. Morley Library does not. City business owners do not. Just blame someone and move on get it over with.
Some people just disagree? From one of the most disagreeable person?

At November 8, 2015 at 5:35 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

The Superintendent decided on it. When Hanlon was in, we got to vote, A or B... Now we are just told. Fine with me...it's like any other business..the bosses make up the calendar....

Thank you 5:35, that was my point. The blogger thinks it unsafe to have kids hanging out at the library during voting & be safer in school that day but that decision is out of most everyone's control. They need to deal with it, it's no ones fault or problem. Its just the way it goes.

You seem to be missing the point also.
No one said that it is unsafe to have children at the library.
However, if it isn't safe for them to be in school (for what reason I do not understand), how could it be any safer to be at the library?
It is NOT a question of whether place A or place B is safe. The question is, what was gained by having children not in school?
The very same people would have been voting at the school or at the library.

The "decision" is out of the hands of most people but it is in the hands of the school Superintendent and/or the Election Board.
Assigning "fault ir problem" to it is not the issue. The two sides that do make the decision really should work together in a way that makes some sense.
There is nothing wrong with a polling place at the library but then it makes no sense to have the schools out for the day.
