" VICTIM OF CHANGE" judas priest

Things will look better when she's through

Thanks to all of you blowing up my e-mail today over that Painesville Council Executive Meeting  today at 5:00 pm.

Yes I've heard all the rumors even the one about a council person asking the city coin changer how much it will cost us to get rid of a certain administrator. This bunch isn't very well versed in staying under the radar that's for sure.

Are we having a coup d'e-tat?

The sudden overthrow of a government by a usually small group of persons in or previously in positions of authority.

Seems last Tuesday's election has empowered some to take this route?

Well they can do as they choose and so can I. First let's look at what started this Hullabaloo.
Seems the City Manager reprimanded the former Police Chief as well as the current Fire Chief. With the Freedom of Information Act I want those actions made public and let residents decide if the City Manager acted in good faith? I believe he did.

Really do we really want our "dirty wash" hung out?

Let's talk about the conditions of the two cemeteries? How many calls must a CM take before he changes leadership there?

Let's talk about all the leadership some on council have shown the city manager? The people that should be reprimanded are the council people who show the city manager NO direction. Truly I have seen none at a council meeting.

Finally don't replace Ben Roethlisberger unless you have Tom Brady waiting as a replacement. Best guess council will 'Toy' around and get a Johnny Manziel.

And again let's get back to the money. The buyout which is basically paying for nothing. We do a lot of that around here.

Mr. Tony Carson inherited one Hell of a big mess when he took over this job yet does anyone on council realize that ? Well I will be here to remind these folks.

May be time to take into  getting a Mayor?

#########################################################################

Update;

Well there was no white smoke coming from the chimney at the Golden Dome, so I guess we can assume Mr. Carson lives to fight another day? Maybe a change after January with a new council? I am trying to find in state law if you can even legally  fire a city manager in Executive Session? Seems that should be in a public forum? Then again will they fire someone if the vote isn't unanimous? Oh, and to the three ringleaders of this coup maybe YOU should watch who you speak with?

Mentor Schools were invited to Washington about the future education , Painesville Schools were telling the world about student's receiving free coats?  Where do you think a parent would want to send their child? My thinking? Watch the movie October Sky.

TERM, I know this has been asked of you before, but where/why did this love fest you have for Carson begin? You defend him where you would throw any one else to the wolves. What are you getting out of this? There has to be something. As long as you keep sucking up to him you are benefiting from your loyalty. I just wonder how.

1:12 Well it goes back a few years. I was sitting at Rider's and a gentleman sat next to me. We started up a conversation and he told me he was in town interviewing for the city manager position. We talked for a minute or two and I asked him "do you think you got the job?" his answer was strange. "No I don't think so, at least I hope not." He then explained he had done his homework about Painesville and it really wasn't something he was looking to take on. Look at the neglect of your streets? Look at some of the housing neglect in town Your infrastructure is in poor condition. He even mentioned the AMP situation. No this was not for him and anyone who would take this job would be starting with two strikes against them. Although he did not bad mouth the former CM he couldn't understand how the situation the city had found itself in now.
As we ended the conversation he asked me to go easy on the new person whoever it is he has "One Hell of a job in front of him."
Sucking up? Loyalty? no just realizing what Mr. Carson was up against.
The only benefit I receive is I get quick honest replies to my questions, that's more than I got before!
Personally I hope Mr. Carson squeezes every dime out of council he can. His replacement had better be part of the Holy Trinity.

Wish we got that guy because all Carson has done is waste money putting the proverbial "lipstick on a pig". Streetscape, crosswalks, Christmas Decorations new desks, chairs, raises for all, $15,000 in movie commercials in a Mentor theater, $30,000 consulting contract to build a new public works facility, the garbage contract extension. The list goes on. He's not the guy. He has done the impossible and made it worse.

When you realize a mayor was a bad idea, you'll play hell getting rid of him and his political machine. Mayor? Are you serious, or just rabble rousing?

Interesting that you suggest council be reprimanded for not showing direction. More to the point, whoever leaked to you what happened in executive session deserves reprimand. I guess some council members don't know what executive session means. It means private. Let's guess who the unscrupulous member of council is. The one who suggests that CM had such a big mess that his only choice was to make it worse? Laughable.

7:17 Well the post went up before the meeting? And many on council don't even try to hide their feelings. Hell everyone at city hall knew what was coming. You will be surprised how much I know just on my own I need no council person. Half of time I know things before they do. I stick to my theory that this council is dysfunctional and all someone has to do is watch it in action.
5:12 Just asking. Things have been running like a Swiss watch around here, right?
3:59 Carson inherited streetscape that was a McMahon & Hada production. Christmas decorations? Let's first talk about who and why that $500,000 building was built? Where are those windmills? Want to bet the city lost it's green credits over that? The Hospital yeah we had to tear that down pronto Mr. Zarimba had these plans. Hey now where is that guy presently. Carson didn't bring a Mr. Volpe to town to plan Disneyland Northcoast?

This whole issue seems bazaar to me? First I know none of the council and do not know the city manager.
I guess my question is why does council want to remove him? The city operates under the direction of council as well as it's charter. Did Mr. Carson refuse to do what council directed him to do? Did Mr. Carson do something not allowed in the charter? If he has then the issue must be told to residents. As a reason. If it's just a personal matter then shame on council. Term see's the council as dysfunctional? Me I see the city charter that way. Maybe council should review the charter? Maybe that's what should be scrutinized

1:12 Term gets to keep his recliner on his front porch without getting a citation. Covered up now so no one can tell its a recliner.

Really do we really want our "dirty wash" hung out? Why not? Don't forget those 2 guys that were let go - don't know their names believe from engineering or code? What was done to Park Rec director too? Bring it on - be sure to dig up all the unions dirty laundry too. When employees are disciplined the like to scream to manager and manager will back them instead of his leadership. It trickles up hill instead of down.

All this about Terms Mom having a recliner? Look I pass that house at least 5 times a day the yard and property are immaculate. I can only wonder what she spends in flowers. My thought is if every home in Painesville looked like her house more people might choose to live here? Please tell us your address so we all can critique your piece of heaven?

No 8:30 it was sarcasm. The recliner is now well hidden under material. But there is a matching blue recliner on a porch on Lucille. As far as a motive to back Carson - heres my theory. Mr Flock didn't get along with Ms Mcmahon. He did everything he could to go against anything she stood for. This prompted Mr Term to have the same mindset. Then when Mr carson shows up to save the city, Mr Flock is his biggest fan. This makes Mr Term his biggest fan too. Monkey See Monkey Do. If Mr Flock didn't like Mr Carson, Mr Term wouldn't either.

The point being that ordinances are for everyone but term. He can have hits recliner outdoors. Same goes for his partner in crime sandy. She's the only one in Painesville allowed to have a compost pile. Oh, and she can have chickens not regulated by ordinances. She said so in a recent pits. You guys just keep sucking up to Carson. It's working fir you but please don't insult our intelligence by suggesting your support of him isn't in exchange for perks.

2:54 Might have some merit... But if Genghis Khan had been appointed city manager it would have been an improvement in my eyes.

6:30 Sorry , but this might be the dumbest comment ever. A recliner and a compost pile. These are perks? Look I can't speak for Sandy but I can't be bought over a recliner? You don't know me to well? Rumor has it the chickens got the axe this week? Maybe Painesville can now have a Chicken in every pot!

Oh yeah, big perks! Chickens and compost. Check your ordinances, chickens are regulated by your city council. I am in compliance. Let me see, my compost pile full of leaves and wood chips has a fence around it, completely recycled every year, lowers my budget as I don't buy as many paper bags and is completely sustainable. Hmmmmm I wonder if that's better than the pile of trash at the bottom of the Main Street hill blowing around, the plastic bags look great in the trees, don't you think? 6:30 I think you're shoveling a bit more compost than either Term or myself.

You know way too much regarding things that you post here. More recently telling the 3 council people to watch who they speak with? I believe one council person, your buddy has been spoon feeding you the information that you leak here. You didn't get lucky and guess these things did you?

Loose Lips soon you will realize the truth. You don't need to be a genius to figure out the dynamics of the people sitting on council. Plus who does TERM know under the Golden Dome? Yes now and then I get Lucky now and then with a guess? Come sit next to me at a council meeting you can learn a lot from facial expressions posture, ect. One council person makes a face everytime this other one speaks, they don't even realize it.
To tell you the truth everyday about 250 people check in on this site? Yet nothing seems to change with the direction of this town, it's getting very sad and boring watching the town I grew up in and yes love as it sinks like the Titanic and people are letting it happen. It's getting close, and do I even want to think about writing the eulogy to this town? Think it ain't happening look around. Yes you can put a wig and lipstick on a pig but that doesn't prevent it going to the slaughterhouse. Most of the stories I hear about Painesville all are in the past tense? Nothing about the future. Know why it appears not to have a future. Thank a council person! Hey we'll always have the wagon rides and we will always tell you to shop downtown but it's all a fake. Every so often someone will tell us to do this or that downtown but presently we are viewed as a joke to outside communities. A total budget of 75 million and what do we have to show for it people? Yes I'm down. I fear the future for Painesville.

Term is 100% correct in what he says about the facial expressions and body language of the Council members.
It really is quite a sight.
