MEET YOUR CANDIDATES
This event is for all residents of Painesville.
Here is your chance to meet the "At Large" candidates who are running for Painesville City Council in the November 5,2013 elections
This is your opportunity to Get Your Questions Answered !
Date: Tuesday, October 29,2013 Time: 7:00 pm--8:30 pm

Thomas Fitzgerald running against John Murphy
Lori DiNallo running against Arlene Becks
Jim Fodor running against Rene Aston
These are four year terms to serve 2014 - 2018
Candidate will all be given 3 minutes to introduce themselves.
The moderator will ask two questions to be answered by each candidate;
1) What makes you qualified and a different candidate for Painesville City Council?
2) What is one of your goals you would implement if you are elected?
Candidates will be given one minute to answer a question. Please keep your questions short and direct.
At the end of candidate's answers from the moderator, the residents will have the opportunity to write questions for the moderator to ask. These questions can pertain to the issues of the City of Painesville in facing with the budget, staffing, state funding local jobs etc.
We will not be seeking permanent remedy to these issues immediately with this one initial candidate's night. Rather,these issues or questions will serve as a template for informing the registered voter.
The moderator's and the timekeeper's ruling is final in approving the residents' questions.
Candidates and supporters may distribute campaign material after the meeting. As well as being available for questions after the meeting.
Refreshments will be served.

Perhaps an English lesson would helpful when you're looking at the ballot.
It's you're, not "Your".
And
It's they're, not "there".
I forgot, it's politics and name calling is always permitted and perhaps why congress just can't seem to be civil any more.
The message is, his place has been for sale twice and he forgot this was an election and not trying to get out of town!
7:58 - you're wrong about that. Ms. Becks introduced a referendum that changed the charter a few years ago that makes it so they are running for "seats". There are 3 at-large "seats" and they are each running for that specific one. Seat 1 begins January 1, Seat 2 begins January 2, and Seat 3 begins January 3.

I see about a year ago the Fitzgeralds were asking almost $500,000 for their house? Wonder what Tom thinks about the cost's of those levies on his abode?
Better yet how can you be a councilman if your running tours to Europe all the time? I don't seeing him giving that up. Those levies would add to $5,000 a year in taxes think hard Tommy!

On her yard signs, yes she was on council at one time but she is not on council at this time
and it is very miss leading to people
some think she is the incumbent.

First yes she was on council and the sign also mentioned return.(I hope she ran this by the Board of Elections) This is just another example of how it's immpossible for me to support her. Look now we have had to change the 'Meet the Candidate Night' She has a fundraiser on the 22nd so now the night has been moved to the 29th.
Ms Beck's is concerned with Ms Beck's and has not looked after the best interest of the city. That said she has the votes in her community and will give Lori a run for her money. Best get thee to the polls residents. There is so much riding on the ballot this year.

I've seen Ms. Becks call herself Councilwoman Becks when she was no longer in office - I believe she may have done it on this website. The job always did go to her self-important head. I beg people not to vote for her. She's out of office, as she should be. Let's just let that one go. She was useless in office.

We wanted all residents the opportunity to meet all candidates and Arlene couldn't change her reservation date at the Elk's Club. The BOE let them move the date a week later.
FATS was open and I had lunch there today.
