" MONEY FOR NOTHING" dire straits

Looking at the headlines in today's News-Herald it seems Mentor has increased what they will help a resident with flooding problems to $2500.00 again it must be nice to have money to spend on residents problems? In the case of Painesville Council-President Hada tells residents to "talk' with assistant city manager Doug Lewis. Now Mr. Lewis is a nice guy and a pretty good public servant but unless he can write you a check for $2,500 you might as well talk to yourself.

Our Council-President had a press clipping where I mentioned that someone in the Painesville family was sitting on 26 million dollars, he also mentioned that some people have suggested that that money could be used to fix city infrastructure. Not me but people. Well what I wished he had said was Angelo I have been sitting on this council for 32 years and I have met with state officials AMP officials anybody that would listen to move some of that money into the general fund. We have gone through deregulation of the electric industry that has changed the way power companies do business but myself and other officials of municipal power owners have done nothing.

Lets be honest if whatever amount we have sitting in an unencumbered fund it came from selling electricity. Also it should be called what it really is "Profit". NOW I can't fix a road, pay to pay for transporting a person to the hospital or even buying the vehicle to transport them... But I can write a check for 2.1 million dollars to a company AMP-OHIO  that told me AMPGS was a great deal that you 'Proudly' voted for and you owe us 2.1 million dollars for this mistake? It doesn't make any sense.

In the next few days I will be sending a letter to the administration asking for all money spent by Painesville to fund getting power from Prairie State I want all the FACTS the city has I want to know month by month what we paid for power. I want to know to who and how much we owe in 'Levelization costs' Remember we were promised $48.00 MW is that a fact? Our council-president wants the facts with any luck I will present them at the next council meeting. That way other members of council as well as Mr. Hada see how bad this deal has been for Painesville.

Look presently our council acts as if they were on the Titanic waiting in the dining room for a Prime Rib dinner as the ship broke in half just  before sinking. I for one would expect more from these people that want more of your income to fix the city than just whistling by the graveyard. You should all be concerned if you are for the levies or against them.

There is a road that runs in front of our Muncipal Museum Power Plant. It was just repaved in cement. I believe to prevent flooding in a building. After 32 years on council let's name that street Hada Way. You want to know why? It ends in a Dead End. Am I being tough on Mr. Hada? Yes for good reason I have watched year after year a city in decline. Please don't tell me how lucky we have been to have Joe & Rita at the helm of this city.

Communities near Galion that have electric choices under deregulation.

Bucyrus just lowered theirs 14%

Upper Sandusky lowered theirs 12%

Everyone can opt out of it, do nothing, or search for rates on their own.

Third time in a month no water...... Some residents are flooded and some can't get any water. Starting to think it's covert city planning to pass the levies. They can hold my water and I still won't vote for the levies.

4:16 Well if those communities did have choices after deregulation, neither Painesville nor Galion could. Why not seems if our in a City with Municipal Power. That's it, asI have been told check the facts.
8:44 The only advise I see for you is to attend a council meeting where our council-president will tell you to meet with Mr. Lewis at the end of the meeting? Another misdirection of resources?

I must be missing something.
Just because 80 other communities haven't moved on this, why shouldn't we get the ball rolling?

Isn't the job of the Attorney General to investigate possible wrong doing, fraud, corruption, and the like, then prosecute if required?

Couldn't be that the Council President is trying to delay an sort of investigation until he is no longer in office, could it?

6:39 I feel AMP-OHIO has more "JUICE" than anyone might have thought.
According to our law director at the July meeting he was sure if the attorney general was the right person to send the letter to?
Yes I believe that could be a reason, but he more than anyone should want to get to the bottom of all this.

If you can find a way to tie human trafficking and AMP Ohio together then DeWine would be all over it

There was a water main break last night over on Chester Street. That may be why the water was off.

If you think it's so nice, why don't you move to Mentor? After all the years of complaining, just go and be done. I'm sure once you are there and since Mentor is way bigger than Painesville, you'll find lots more to complain about. Do you want the city to write you a check? Is this what this is all about? Maybe they should put the cash into the infrastructure.
Does Painesville have some type of concerned flood committee?

11:55 I have to ask are you mad at the flooding, the current state of the city or me?
Me leaving will only leave you with all the other things still bothering you.
Me I'm staying,Sorry.
11:25 I see both the water and electric department seem to be involved. A two for?
8:02 Maybe but I believe its AMP's Juice.
10:39 Thanks for the sad news, and look at what we gave the guy responsible as a going away present. Good Luck Chardon!

It seems JaHada is playing CYA now.
Look as the council president who is he to block a resolution from coming before coucil? If Flock can get a second and that might not be the easiest thing to get Painesville should be made aware of who and who not on council give a damn.
I already know what a family is and it's not 4 5 6 stangers living in the same house. That planning bunch should be taken to the woodshed.

The only thing I can thank Chardon for is removing our problem. I will watch Hanlon with interest as Chardon doesn't have half the problems our schools have. Well there is that small problem of a school shooting. I am curious to see how the Chardon board interacts with community and new Super. Can we learn or just be happy our perceived problem is gone.

Well it seems Jim Fodor, Joe Hada as well as myself should see if we can rent a trailer to leave town?

357, Fodor hasn't been the assistant super for at least 5-6 years...Denise ward was, and she left to go to Warrensville Heights..I think the news AS is great..he knows his stuff, and I think he and mr. Shepard will turn it around...if the majority of the community will buy in....

5:13 Yes Mr. Fodor hasn't been with the schools in five or six years, but as I remember his position and explaination on the 50% policy this system shouldn't be presently where it is. Look this all didn't happen over night.
