"HAVE YOU HEARD?" moody blues

Well to days the final day to drop off your petition to run for an office, pass a levy, change a charter.

Well Painesville as I have mentioned before will have charter changes, votes on a Police, Fire and Road levies.

Plus people running for three Council-at-Large seats.

Along with openings on our school board.
Off the cuff here's how I see it  coming out of the gate.

 Lori DiNallo vs. Arlene Becks

John Murphy vs. Tom Fitzgerald

James Fodor vs. Rene Aston

Anyone see a late candidate for school board?  that will explain ATV?

Should be an interesting time from now to election day in Painesville.

Candidates for Council-at-Large should be prepared to answer a multitude of questions, including  'What will you do if the levies don't pass?' The answer's could be telling.

Pretty much hit it on the head. Now Murphy/Fitzgerald? An Irishman's dream,  Plan on seeing a lot of green signs.

Expect an interesting race Fodor/Aston may be a surprise here.

DiNallo / Becks  Well please explain how Painesville wins here?

Off the bat the incumbents seem to have the edge. DiNallo, Fodor and Fitzgerald with the Hada machine behind him.

As far as the levies? " What are your plans when the levies fail"  Anyone believe they will? and why?

Kathleen Powers Dolney Painesville school board. soon we will understand ATV. Something new a person with a plan.

The NH listed these people running for council and also the BOE seats.
Kathy Dolney was a great guidance counselor and a fair person at Harvey and I wish her well. I missed or overlooked how many vacancies there were with 4/5 candidates? When will we be getting the ATV scoop?

12:51 Three running two positions open. Mr. Tackett is the only one running in the one position to fill that term. ATV coming.
7:02 Please I don't hate anyone. My point is with serving on Painesville council for less than a year, she decides to run for state representative. Ask anyone who knows me I predicted this, (Although I thought it was going to be county commissioner) sorry.
Now lets bygones be bygones when the council president suggested we send a letter to the Ohio Senate to not change the collection of city income tax who opposed it?
You know why? She feels she owes more to the state, and county GOP than she does to the citizens of Painesville. Why? She's probably going to run again.
Now Ms. Becks is a piece of work. I sat down at Rider's Inn a long time ago and explained why Meigs County was a bad idea. She claimed "we need the power" Well we didn't get the power but a bill for 2.1 million dollars. Now after being a thorn in Paul Hach and Joe Hada for the who knows how long I going to support Arlene Becks who went along with this? Let bygones be bygones, recently she attend a POC meeting and acted like a child, what she was blaming us for something we had no part in. Sorry. You guys pick.

I really feel bad for Arlene Becks... she spent so much time on the charter change for petitions and now the charter committee wants to reverse her changes..this will make it harder for incompetent people To win future elections.

I recently asked Ms Becks if she supported the 3 City Levy request. She spoke for over 5 minutes and never answered my simple question, God help us if she is elected.

7:15 If it takes any candidate that long to answer your question, its usually that they are trying to figure out how you feel about those three issues.
If you tell them that road levy is a bad idea they will agree with you. If you tell them it's about time we did something about the roads. They will agree with you.

I think it would be refreshing to hear from all the candidates there views on the former city manager and leaving council president. It might be very informative.
Jim Fodor opinion has me looking in a different direction.

Go to the levies for a moment, the city has an info click on their website, thank you finance dept for the spin, where are the depts that matter the most. Nothing from fire, IAFF, police, FOP, road dept, (give up there for anything). Does the city support any of the taxpayer's increases? Where are the chiefs? Where is this new city manager? There was not even any literature at party in the park. City tent? City Information Center? What, not a work day? Not on my time attitude? Oh, I'll support that. Police and Fire canvassing with door hangars on their own time? Well, if they don't care, why should I? A friend called who had gone to the click and go levy city website and asked, well, if the city has to layoff, its only going to cost the city $5800 for a finance dept. employee. I said good, can you imagine living on that, makes the county look like Shangri-La, even Arby's. Pay increase in their future.

11:56 After receiving the 'Painesville Magazine' today I guess I'm living in some euphemism place? Next there will be dollars growing on trees.
Didn't expect flooded basements or roads that looked bombed out but really?
A downtown being revitalized with grant money? someone forget to add the other $300,000? Look if as a citizen you buy all this, God help us all.

Can you explain ATV? I think I missed something.

Not sure where I read it or heard it, but I think you said that Council was going to define a family? Has that happened yet? I haven't watched the last few council meetings on TV yet. Thanks.

Guess ATV isn't coming out at the board meeting. Soooo...what is is? And why all the suspense?

No suspense only one candidates slogan, and after what I viewed yesterday it's well needed.

8:32 Well the Planning kicked it around last Thursday evening and pretty much changed the verbiage. Now to be sent to council.
I asked a hypothetical question.
If I purchased a large home in an R1 zoned area and I had 8 different men living there each one I was charging $200.00 a month, they all had general use of the kitchen, living, family rooms would they be considered a family? The answer was yes. So I guess a family can pretty much be just about anything?

And, as far as I can tell, that means R1 zoning is pointless.

This is what happens when politicians make a definition that upsets no one and means nothing.

Remember that Term's hypothetical situation can be next door to any of you in the City and there is/will be nothing you can do about it.
