"MAKES ME WONDER" maroon 5
As I mentioned in an earlier post I was going to send a request to the administration to find the 'FACTS' on the Prairie State Energy Campus contract that Painesville is involved to the tune of 9MW of power. This e-mail was sent last Thursday 08/22/13 . I would have assumed I might have heard from them already? Look if a council-person is given from Friday evening to Monday at 7:30 to review all in his packet how long should the city need to send me this information? It appears from where I sit that my email was filed in the same wastebasket as when I asked for Who,and When the legislation was passed when it came to the downtown area? This request was sent to Doug Lewis as well as the seven members of council.

I am sending you this request, if it should be sent somewhere else please forward it to that person. As you might have remembered Council-President Hada refused to involve council in sending a letter to Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine concerning Painesville's involvement with Prairie State.
Mr. Hada seems to be waiting for the 'Facts' I believe the City of Painesville already has enough of the facts to present Mr. Hada or anyone else as to how bad a deal this has become.
I would please like a record of all financial dealing with Prairie State starting from 2012 to as close to the present day as can be provided. Loan payments, cost of electricity for the months they have provided Painesville with electric power. An explanations of levelization and to how much we presently owe and to whom. I am not asking for any 'state' secrets only the facts as so I can present them at the next council meeting. Mr. Hada wants facts here they are.
I believe when the council reviews all the 'Facts' they will understand the need of this letter to be sent.
Please don't think this is a witch hunt against our Council-President to be honest as the 'Facts' were presented to council with time and cost elements relating to Prairie State it appeared to many including myself as a worthwhile deal. After reviewing the 'Facts' in my eyes and the numbers I have seen to not be such a worthwhile deal. as that Prairie State has not lived up to anywhere near the terms of the contract. My problem seems to be that our Council-President wants to Freeze the ball until the end of his term this December. Leaving many on council who had nothing to do with this contract having to answer for it.
If you have a problem with forwarding me any of this information please let me know and why.
Your co-operation in this matter is appreciated
Angelo Cimaglio

After watching the discussion at the meeting it struck me , who among them will be our next council-president? If sending a letter would make all of them sit in silence not even to second the motion or at least letting the public see a vote as showing them as believing you might be looking out for them. Not always just looking for more money from them?
To the members on council this contract all come back to bite you on the ..... Maybe not next week maybe in two years, you more than anyone should be looking for the 'Facts'.

Here's a Bulletin; Galion, Ohio last night passed a resolution to send a letter with questions concerning Prairie State / AMP-OHIO to Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine. Nice to see there still are places that care how residents money is being spent.

Painesville can't produce electricity at a cost lower than buying it off the grid. This along with contracts to purchase power from operations such as PSEC that Painesville guarenteed to purchase at a high cost, kills our ability to produce electric power. This will all come to a head sooner than you think.
I see the Galion city council passed the request for the attorney general to investigate the matter last night.
Appears two city council members there still have their heads in the sand though.

Illinois utility sucked into Prairie State raise rates ..

7:17 It would be interesting if we could prove that.
10:18 Well it's probably better to have two with their heads in the sand than six? I hope these six never make the claim their goal is to look out for the finances of Painesville residents.
10:39 Seems more and more are finding out daily what a bad deal this was for everyone on the buying side.
You should move to Galion? I believe you would be happier.
This hatred of Joe and Rita must be eating you up? What will you do in January when there both gone?
How did so many in a multi state area get sucked into these contracts? Did fear drive the bus on these decisions? Where and who were the legal councils? Should they be held accountable as they were all paid tax payer money. The Atorney general should be contacted to start an investigation. Why would any community who signed onto this not want it investigated. What are we missing?
At least Galion is starting to wake up. We need support Galion in their request for an inquiry. The more communities requesting an investigation the more it will sway the Attorney General to move forward.
12:16 First off I don't hate anyone, all I know is that what progress has Painesville made in the last 20 years? All I wish for is the people that claim to represent your and mine best interest do what they claim to do.
I'm staying.
6:42 Fear? No but when the experts that you deal with such as AMP-OHIO tell you in 2006 that electricity cost are going to sky rocket and you better to get these deal's odd seems the only ones that lost were the communities not the experts so when the electric costs dropped, guess who's left holding the bag? Well it reminds me of a city that invested it's money with the promise that interest was only going to go up,and in FACT it came down. Remember that city? A finance director was fired as well as the city manager was replaced. You remember the name of that community they lost what 6 million dollars on that deal? Painesville maybe? What do we call that mistake?
Interesting quote from their local paper.
"No other muncipalities have interest in getting the Attorney General office involved" council member Shirley Clark said referring to several Ohio towns she contacted. "Why should Galion stick out our neck"?
Anonymous 12:16, what do you mean "when they're both gone"? As far as I can see Rita is still pulling strings and I'm Joe will do the same. Gone?..... we could only wish.
943 you made a statement that Rita is pulling strings I would love to hear how you think that can be done. Her law director has left a new person is in charge and Hada is only one person one vote . So how could she pull anything
POST 11:03 joe hada HAS,always had his 4 VOTES at the council meetings. I still WONDER HOW WE LOST A HOSPITAL ?? This has to be a CLASSIC for PAINESVILLE.
Joe does not have a lock on four votes at least four people that serve with him have vote no against him these four make up their own minds on issues. Flock is not in his pocket Jenkins, Fodor or DeLone(sp). These four are always thing on their own and I feel Lorie is with them also. We lost the hospital due to high buck doctors not wanting to pay 2 percent taxes on their large income. It was just plain greed. That hospital w as slated for Mentor city. With a lot of special tax breaks. Concord offered them even a better deal until the JUD came about. I wonder when Joe leaves who are you going to blame, the next person that sets in his seats
8:42 Sorry, I see Joe having many of the people you mentioned under his thumb. I will use the letter Flock wanted to send. Not ONE councilperson wanted to 'second' it. Why? They didn't want to vote NO. Look they want more money from us and at the same time see no reason into looking for money we are presently wasting. One month we sent Prairie State $400,000 for what 9MW of power? Lets put it up for a vote and see who gives a damn?
Yes I blame Rita & Joe for the hospital leaving but even more for not getting the V.A. or other interested parties involved no we helped them aquire 2 million dollars to tear it down. then had to listen to some guy Zirimba weave a tale of expensive Chicago 'style' housing and all I witness is an empty field? We will be lucky if a gas station fills some of that.
Look you believe those two did a grat job, list all of their accomplishments.
Wait until this fire truck deal comes back to bite us in 5 years?
It's a JEDD not a JUD.
Get a copy, of the JEDD CONTRACT. WOW,whew, gollie, dang, another good deal which will cost painesville lots, lots, lots, of money. THANKS JOE HADA.
