"IV'E GOT TWO TICKETS TO PARADISE" eddie money

Well I found out about this earlier this week, I have been wondering what we as a community do?
Recently a Church in the North end of Painesville was  visited by our esteemed building department employee Nowell Yomen.
Seems "someone" complained about a small house in the rear of the property. The citation included roof, gutter, window replacement all to repaired by May 25,2013.  Or a court date with Judge Michael A. Cicconetti will be forthcoming. Bet he can't wait for this one? Let's find them guilty and fine a poor church?

Seems the Pastor of the church Eddie Coburn has been ill for some time this along with no money in the church budget (where have we heard that before?)  No repairs or demolition can be made.
A Reverend O'Neal met with Ward I councilman Flock and asked if he could somehow receive assistance from the city?
I don't see that happening, but there is a chance residents in the community could get together to repair or demolish this building.
I have been made aware that all council people as well as the administration have been made aware of this situation. Maybe with the help of a truck and someone who knows about demolishing we could help this Pastor before the Judge has to ask the city. "Really"?

Please contact this site if anyone has any ideas?

Maybe now that there is a new city manager, we can do something about good ol' Nowell and all the people that run this city that go along with what she does and the way she does it. This city is here for the people, and the people need to be treated with decency and kindness. If there needs to be repairs, etc., then at least give them a good amount of time and consideration, and be glad they chose your city to reside in.

Asking for help from the citizens, Term, is an honorable thing to do...something that the people running this city have no knowledge or possession of.

A truck? Like the new firetruck? Will that help you? If so, we'll get right on it for you.

Is this the little church on the corner of North State and Skinner? They're not talking about tearing down the church, are they?...I love that little church there. It has driven me nuts over all these years that nobody bothered to scrape the paint off the windows after they were painted, but it looks lovely from the outside other than that. It's a wonderful old building, and it does the soul good to see it, and we used to hear wonderful music coming from there during their services.

I'd have to go by and have a purposeful look, but I think the house in the back is very small, so hopefully it could be fixed up and not demolished, as I could see how it could come in handy for the church. They could use it for storage, for a pastor, or for church members or others in need of emergency shelter.

Honestly, I can't believe the people who run this city, or why anyone would want to live here with these people in charge. Probably someone on council or some other buddy of the theirs wants to buy the land.

7:15 Great idea, even without a grant.
10:47 Not the church the little building that sits on the property.
Just thinking who in town might have a truck, or someone else with the equipment to help demolish this building?
7:26 I love an optimist!

Now here is my answer to my own usually failed logic.
I would call the building department tomorrow and file a complaint about the old hotel on Main St. In my view that is far greater an eyesore than that little house.
Painesville acquired it for I believe less than $50.00 by our former city manager. What a deal it is now government property and taken off the tax rolls?
Now I believe it has been transferred over to the port authority? Funny how things follow people around?
That Pastor should go to court and make the port authority held to the same standards as he is!
The Judge could become very busy.

Failed logic if I had been the lady on Elm St. with the rusty water, I would have never gone to council and asked for help. She should have gone to a lawyer and gotten the situation taken care of, possible saving residents $8.00 a month in an overcharged water bill.
The only solution to any problem in Painesville is to ask for more money from the residents.

Just to let you know.
john Murphy has taken out council petitons to run for city council for the January 3, date.
Presently sitting council members have taken out petitions without setting their running date. Wonder why? I bet the three already know only as so they don't run against each other. They will inform you in good time.

United Way Day of Caring is coming up and they are accepting projects. The church should submit this. The City always submits several projects.

Just a wild guess here are you talking about Lori Dinallo, and Paul Hach?
Scary I'm starting to think like you?

Amazing! This town is in such a hurry to tear history down, hospital, schools, the buildings where the awesome New Market Mall stands, apartments were burned at Gristmill and Millstone, Morley library........ Did I miss anything? Love that hotel on the hill sitting abandoned. Maybe Noelle could take a walk over there and start writing up tickets. I would think there would be a line waiting to tear down that little house.

And the black plastic still hangs on Main St. Why doesn't Noelle write that up? It is against a city ordinance to hang bed sheets in your windows?

This might be off the subject but in the last two days the lights have been on downtown State and Main St. got a clue.
Or is this another way to hose us like the fire truck?

Really?? That is the biggest eyesore in the City? I would never have guessed it.

That was the home of two guys I went to school with. The older one was in my class and lived in North Dakota the last I knew. Their Father was the Minister at the church. Kind of a shame really.

I see others have already mentioned what, in my mind, is a MUCH bigger problem and that is the "hotel" on Main St. How many years has it been vacant now? The Port Authority now owns it? For what? Why not make it into housing for the College instead of putting dorms (in an R1 area) at the old Harvey site? Seems like it would make sense AND it would not upset the neighbors since there are none.

Along those lines, does anyone understand why we have a "need" for the Port Authority anyway?? Lake County has one port and it is no where near as busy as it was prior to 1976. Of course if their purpose is to be the property purchasing arm of Lake Erie College, go for it. Lost Nation Airport will be under the port Authority?? Why?

Furthermore, why does the County need it? Looks like a great retirement gig for someone. Maybe a former Mayor or Manager?

8:26 seems to have a very good idea. Maybe the United Way Day of Caring could be brought into the picture also. It also sounds like the Pastor and the church could use a little help maybe. Is he having enough money to pay his and the church's bills? Maybe there is a larger picture there that needs a little "seeing after" by the church members and the community as a whole.

2:53 It's like your kids, they don't pay the electric bill so why worry about it? Maybe Painesville has money to burn?

This is 8:26. Just call the United Way office and ask for Megan Grdina 440-639-1149 The pastor may need to submit this project himself, though.

Well- Someone should contact Key Bank, Lubrizol,Chase who all have days that they give back to the community. This would also be a great community project for the high school students under leadership from a trades teacher.
Maybe Mr. Flock or Lori Dinallo should put out an all call for neighborhood people to come and help with this problem.
Yes, the hotel is a total eye sore!
All the unmowed grass lawns are eye sores as well-maybe someone should go after all the realtors that fail to take care of the homes they are selling in Painesville!

Term 5:28, this is 5:26. No, I'm not sure who to contact, and I am too ill myself right now to help any more people than I am already helping. But I think it is wonderful that you and perhaps other members of the community are trying to figure out how to help. I'll bet the Pastor that contacted Flock for possible help could point the way to any information needed to assess the total needs there. I wonder if money needs to be raised, if one of the local churches could hold a dinner or something. Or maybe the local churches could take up a collection to help a fellow neighborhood church and its pastor survive these hard times.

I'm starting to believe with all of the violations in Painesville the building department goes after all the low hanging fruit. Then at the end of the year they can report the number of citations along with their success rate. Just a thought.
That and anyone who might complain?

Why can't Judge Ciconnetti court order some offenders to take care of the project as community service?

Speaking of Noelle and her infamous letters.... I received one recently regarding my "rank vegetation" ( needing grass cut) and thought 'are you kidding me?' I live in a nice quiet neighborhood in Painesville City, my neighbors just so happened to cut their grass the day before, no one else gets the letter. The best part is the first line says a complaint has been filed, yet you can't find out who filed the complaint, leaving one to wonder about your neighbors and so much for neighborly love right. With all my stewing over this and talking to neighbors I am convinced Noelle is the complainant as she drives around town looking for rank vegetation. Well I've driven around town too and have found plenty of rank vegetation myself. Who's complaining about that?

Nowell is yet just one more example of a city employee in the city of Painesville that needs to get out. We need to replace almost everyone who works for this city, and she needs to go, too. I've heard nightmare stories about her for years, and the present city administration and council (except maybe not Flock) go along with it. Even the police have the same horrible attitude towards the citizens. Don't call for them to check anything out trying to be a good citizen for one thing. They'll put you down, talk down to you, and tell you to mind your own business. I hope that Murphy gets voted in, along with anyone else who is not a Hada-ite. We not only need to clean house in this city, we need to clean the WHOLE house, and I think this Nowell has been a problem just about long enough.

I have just received an application from Megan Grdina of United Ways.
This is an application for a Day of Caring. Can anyone get in touch Rev.O'Neil so I could get in touch with him.
It would be helpful if I also could receive a copy of the violations the city has charged the church with.

What about our city streets falling apart. The city doesn't have someone breathing down there neck to fix them. How typical!

I will be talking to the city soon. I believe the Reverend wants the house demolished. I don't believe the Day of Caring would be interested in this project. My thoughts if we tear off the shingles maybe the house could be used for practice for the new fire truck?
