"TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN' steve miller band

As I read all the papers and stories about school funding I am amazed even though the Ohio Supreme Court has voted an said the way Ohio schools are funded is Unconstitutional we still find it the only way to fund public education.
I have tossed around a few ideas with friend and they seem to have some interesting ideas. First it needs a Constitutional State agreement that whatever the percentage amount the state in presently funding schools at now this must become fixed. School districts could only ask for renewal of a levy at the present millage a homeowner is presently paying. It can't increase. or ask for new levies.
Now the next thing we will have to do is start an educational tax. No longer will I have to listen to their on a fixed income, living on assisted living, section 8 They don't pay property taxes.
This educational tax will be paid on take out food. Now before you scream think about it. If you go into McDonalds and buy a meal and decide to eat it in the restaurant you pay a sales tax. If you purchase the same items at a drive-thru no tax? I believe a 1% or2% income tax divided to district on a per pupil equally might be the answer. Taxpayers would be the only one that could vote the tax higher in a state wide election.
Even delivered pizza doesn't have sales tax. Look I'm just looking for different ways to fund schools.
I am looking for new ways to fund this. If you have other idea's please post them.

The state of Ohio needs to step in and require all employees to utilitize a state health insurance program.

School bus purchases must bedone through the state through a pool system. Schol districts right now buy a few busses every year receiving little discount on the purchase. State of Ohio buying 1000 a year would receive a huge discount.

All books would be orderd through the state instead of bought locally. Again reaping a huge bulk discount when thousands are orderd at a time.

School busing, students that use it would pay a fee to use the school busing. Why should families whose kids walk to school subsidize that that ride a bus ?

Batavia, Illinois looking to bail out of Prairie State

http://www.dailyherald.com/article/20121005/news/710059737/

A city of just 30,000 residents contracted for 550% more pwer than Painesville did.

They can't use all this power, and can't unload it. They are going to be buried in debt and default.

10:16 I stated it was just another idea, you got any?
11:23 I wish you hadn't left your comment someone under the "Golden Dome" could see it and might want Painesville to step up and proudly purchase more expensive electricity. It seems what we do best around here.

Since you are open to ideas; here is something to think about and maybe expand on. How much money is spent on special education? A LOT. Why? There has been an upswing of behavioral special education needs because of drug abuse. These kids are also known as crack babies. Also, an alcoholic can have a fetal alcohol syndrome child. Now, because of the adults carelessness, these children are costing taxpayers a bundle to educate and some may never hold a job. I would NEVER blame the child, they are the innocent ones. The parents need to be held accountable and responsible somehow. If the government could use the money from confiscated drugs, vehicles and drug houses or property by selling off this stuff. Maybe they should turn the money back into the schools special education fund to defray the cost. Make sense? I'm sure it would need to be tweaked but it could work.

To,idea. That drug money now goes to local police to help with in forcement of drug law. Give it to the schools and cops now will be asking for money to fight drugs .

How about 20X more people are hooked on precription drugs and by a factor of 9 to 1 more die from precription overdoses that all the illegal drugs combined.

The drug houses are RITE AID, CVS, WALGREENS and such ... the pusher is the pharmacist.
