"IT'S ONLY WORDS" beegees

Yes its only words...
Received a copy of the Painesville City 2013 Draft Budget over the weekend. Anyone want to guess what word wasn't used in this budget?
"Other" then council spending 140 minutes reviewing it at Morse Avenue Community Center [8:00am until 10:30am with a 20 minute break. I guess it's fair to say council is ready to move forward on this 65 million dollar budget?
Even without the word "other" in it I believe it should take a little longer than that to cover the information listed in this 120 page  budget document.

I have only read about half way through it and  I have many questions to ask.
Painesville claims to have approximately 300 employees . Should the city remain self-insured?
Our hospitalization costs rose $354,560.00 over last year with fewer employee's. Since 2009 our hospitalization cost have risen $745,447.00. Maybe its time for the city in joining forces with the county to bring down costs?
The budget for streets? Do you realize close to 40% of that money in that fund goes to debt service?
It was brought up at the meeting that the city received a bid of $125,000 to cut grass and maintain the cemeteries properties.Seems nowhere could the city  find $125,000 b so I guess the city will keep budgeting $295,000 for this service out of the general funds. That doesn't make sense to you well me either.
Exterior Painting at City Hall Complex $18,000. It's mostly brick isn't it?
Purchase of two Computers $3,000.
I know I will be taken to the woodshed over this one. $15,000 to Refurbish two Riding Lawn Mowers What is it with this city and lawn mowing?.
Downtown flowers may need to be watered 100% by volunteer's. Hope they have ladders.

I can't even understand why we have a power plant? With the amount of coal sitting off of Prospect St. It doesn't appear the city has plans to be to operational in the coming year.

This budget takes more than two and a half hours to read. I hope everyone on council will have their questions answered.

I would be nice for council to put residents and taxpayers above others.

I think one of the big problems in this city is that we never pay anything off. They just refinance, refinance, and refinance. So we end up paying for something for so many years, that we probably pay a lot more for interest for things than the actual principal that we started out with. That is something that needs to be looked at right away now that McMahon is gone.

The idiots in Galion are the same way with the mowing.

It can be contracted out to a lawn care company for 40% of the costs, no fringe befits too boot and the city idiots refuse to do it.

Mentality here as in Painesville, the more bloated the city payroll the more powerful they are.

We have even more idiotcy. The county Sheriff has a county 911 service, the city operates their own as well. Local city residents here pay for two 911 services.

Health dept, we have a county one, and of course the city has one too. Residents pay for two of them.

The idiotcy, is beyond belief.

7:31 If you check there aare many more cities like Painesville and Galion. Why not it's not their money.
You run into abudget crunch you either threaten to layoff safety forces or ask for a levy.
It goes on and on. The best part of all this is that 80% of Painesville's worker's live somewhere else. What's that tell you about Painesville?

Someone out in Galion could you fill us in on what happened or how AMP-OHIO officals John Bentina and Pam Sullivan got caught on a phone conversation with concerns about Prarie State. I guess they think someone from your city bought information?
AMP-OHIO officals don't even want to come to our neighborhood.

Senior Attorney for AMP came to Galion with his dog and pony show for the citizens of how great AMP was. They said they were only going to be 15 minutes but it went on over 90 as city council member WADE a (trial attorney) cross examined them both. She got them completely flustered and speechless.

Finally Bentine ( AMP ) went out in the hallway to make a phone call and was recorded by a citizens as saying ... " SHE KNOWS IT ALL .. SHE HAS ALL THE RECORDS ... I JUST PLAYED IT OFF AS ROUTINE .. I THINK THEY BOUGHT IT "

BENITINE denies it ... We have it taped .. LOL

1:09 So AMP-OHIO works for who? Themselves As soon as communities understand that fact. The sooner this foolishness will end.
Your one advantage over them is their belief your town is made up of small time uneducated people. It will probably come back to bite them. Phone calls right in front of residents?

I wish they would just do away with Trick or Treat in this town. We live in the Cedarbrook area, smack in the middle of Brentwood and Kensington. We are flooded by people driving their kids around and dropping them off every 2-3 houses. Really? Do you need candy that much? What you've spent in fuel you could buy a few bags. The kids are not kids most are jr & sr high school age, no costume and a bookbag as a treat bag. No manners, won't say trick or treat, and a thank you - forget it. "I need some for my sister" Even adults out begging, thats really sad. This is nothing new, when our children were little I walked them down Cedarbrook, watching the stream of cars back then. Even heard some parent say "we come here every year, this is where the rich people are". Every year I say no more. But I do enjoy the little ones.

How bout Painesville Power?
Nice job, kudos to those guys out all night. Way better than First Energy who wouldn't put their people out to work that night, shame on them. Look at how many lost power & restored between PCP and 1st energy. Thank you line shop.

Painesville Power linemen alway's seem to be on top of things.
In a storm no ones crews should be out rewiring the system while the storm is still going on. I was told the main problem in Painesville was that four transformers all blew out at the same time?
The problem with Painesville Power operations was the lack of knowledge by the person at the top.
Starting today that will let's hope no longer be a problem.
Again will Painesville produce power in the next few months? Doesn't seem we have any coal on hand.
Where are we with that balhooed battery project?
Where are we with the windmill's
Aong with no longer having a price differential with First Energy.
Why can't we get AMP-OHIO executives to Painesville? Galion officals seem to be able to? I would "proudly' ask if someone could get them here.
Witchie Poo. It is what it is. I can understand your feelings. Shut the lights out and don't answer the door.

In the past before Brentwood and Kensington car loads of kids would come into the neighboorhood from the township to trick or treat. Cedarbrook area is a target rich environment many houses close together. I have a rule if your 12 years or older no costume no treat. Little ones costume or not get the treat just for showing up.
I guess you got the right idea it's only one day.
Halloween in the past twenty years has changed.

AMP officials come to Galion as we are raising so much trouble.

We have a direct pipeline to the Columbus Dispatch reporter and he keeps hammering them.

Thank goodness, Galion. Keep it up. Our city leaders are quiet, and your exposing of all of this can only help Painesville, too. I think these AMP people need to go to jail, and I think the communities that were scammed by them need to be relieved of their financial obligation in these messes. Good luck to all in Galion, and thanks to the Columbus Dispatch and their reporter for their concern also.

Is there anyone from the government doing any investigations of all of this yet? Term, do we have any hope of investigations being conducted into Painesville's involvement in these AMP messes yet?

I happen to know that the Federal Government is looking into this.

Now locally Councilman Flock can't even get a vote from council or the administration to make AMP-OHIO appear at a council meeting or a special meeting. Must be something about sweeping things under a rug?
As a resident feel fee to call your councilman or an at large council peson as well as the administration to express your desire to have this meeting happen.
AMP-OHIO told an administrator that as long as councilman Flock sits on council don't expect a visit.

Term 7:19: I am relieved to know that the Feds are looking into this. Thank goodness; I hope they move quickly on it and do a thorough job. We need relief from this horrible, stupid mess, so I hope that can happen and is in the cards soon. It really can't be soon enough. It would be wonderful if they would suspend our payments until they investigate AMP, then null and void the deals, and put the AMP crooks in jail where they belong.

I wouldn't be surprised if they won't come for a meeting with Flock there, since they have so much to answer for and to hide. I am wondering where that information came from, however, because I would not put it past Hada to not only not WANT that meeting, but also to blame it on Flock even if AMP never said that and instead they were never invited. Hada and all his blind followers on council have a lot to answer for, too. I would love to attend that meeting and see what the pompous jerks have to say now. How proud are ya now, Hada? How cocky and sure are you now DiNallo, Fodor and the rest of you "yes" people? The citizens told you and told you not to do this, didn't they? DIDN'T THEY?

I have to eat some words...Halloween this year was very, very slow. Anyone else notice? We usually give over 500 treats, no where near that. But I did overhear and see that Liberty Greens was bombarded. Guess that's the new "rich" section in Pville everyone will be flocking to. Yea!

7:31 The city did away with their dispatch and has been with the EOC -911 call center in Kirtland for many years. Same for the health dept. Where is the city health department? That too has been gone for years. Get with the program.
