"PHILADELPHIA FREEDOM" elton john

One of the many important freedoms we have in this country is freedom of speech.
Although this week it had a person use it to attack anther person if for no reason then to push a certain political agenda.
Rush Limbaugh went on the attack against a college student who appeared in front of a Congressional hearing concerning contraception. To be clear this young woman Georgetown Law Student Sandra Fluke only spoke of the benefits of birth control in relationship to female health. Not about sex. Her reward from Rush Limbaugh? To be called a "slut" and a "prostitute."
I can honestly claim even I was surprised by Rush's remarks, well then again not really. What surprised me was how the Conservatives and Republican Presidential hopefuls answered? To be honest Santorum, and Romney are All-American Cowards! Santorum "he's an entertainer" Romney "thats not the words I'd have used."
Today we know who runs the Republican Party its not Prius or Romney it's Limbaugh.
Rick and Mitt should have shown their disgust with the Rushbowel. But.. No can't get on his wrong side it's political suicide. Then again in Mitt's case how much of an investment does Bain Capital have in Clear Channel, Rush's corporate sponsor?
Some have called for a boycott of Rush's sponsors. Not me I want to know the companies that keep making this man rich and then choose other products.

What you must remember is that this was just a new way for the Right to silence dissidents to their ideology. What chance does Sandra Fluke or any private citizen to go up against the EIB network? The goal was to silence women plain and simple.

On a final note I hope someone explains to Rush that the birth control pill are not like Viagra. You take the same amount of birth control pills if your having sex once or a thousand times a month!

I read that a bill going through the house of rep now will ban free speech or 'dangerous' speech that is within so many 'limited' feet of a federal employee. Meaning all the candidates have body guards that are secret service , government employees, and if a citizen makes comments that are 'shades of grey' against the gov, that citizen would be violating that law. Free Speech. ICE T, said in the 90;s although not a big fan of his, but he said, freedom of speech, just watch what you say... or I might add, or you might just get taken away..

Interesting, Romney left Bain in 1999 or 12 years ago a successful businessman. So now being successful is not a qualification for anything?

What was Obama doing 12 years ago?????????

Well 10:16 I guess it's how you measure "Sucess". Having Rush as one of your employees might not qualify and eliminating jobs and shipping them to China makes it all right if you go to a factory wearing $120.00 shirts and a pair of jeans? Who are you trying to kid?.
9:43 So I guess free speach must include calling a college student[ not a govenment employee] a slut and prostitue. I guess that's fine with you? Do you have a mother, daughter, sister you would be comfortable with an idiot like
Rush calling them those names over a disagreement with them?
I really don't want to censor Rush, give hime five hour's a day. It only helps the Democrats.

To both of you why not tell us what you think of his latest diarrhea of the mouth?

Who's the bigger fool?
The person who listen's to Rush's opinion, or the one who listen's to Term's rantings.

News is one thing and should be reported without political slants. Otherwise it is just one's own opinion and sooner or later they just become, well you know, everyone has one.

Rush is a well known Conservative. He claims to reach 20 million faithful listeners? When he makes a comment it is news. It was reported in the News-Herald on Saturday and all the pundit news programs. That makes it news.
What is Rush's "slant" and Rush and his dittoheads have been well you know, everyone has one for over 20 years. Please defend his slant?

By Monday he will be the victim.

Sandra Fluke is being sold by the left as something she's not. Namely a random co-ed from Georgetown law who found herself mixed up in the latest front of the culture war who was simply looking to make sure needy women had access to birth control. That, of course, is not the case.

As many have already uncovered Sandra Fluke she is, in reality, a 30 year old long time liberal activist who enrolled at Georgetown with the express purpose of fighting for the school to pay for students' birth control. She has been pushing for mandated coverage of contraceptives at Georgetown for at least three years according to the Washington Post.

However, as I discovered today, birth control is not all that Ms. Fluke believes private health insurance must cover. She also, apparently, believes that it is discrimination deserving of legal action if "gender reassignment" surgeries are not covered by employer provided health insurance. She makes these views clear in an article she co-edited with Karen Hu in the Georgetown Journal of Gender and the Law.

Want the City of Painesville to pay for these too?

Or worse yet, a 30 year old liberal activist who only went to Georgetown to force the Presidents mandatory birth control onto a Jesuit College. Was she set up by the Democrats to try to get sympathy to get the agenda past the religious opposition?

Time will tell, but her support of sex change operation insurance to be included also, probably crosses the line, even in Painesville.

Either way, not what she says she is.

6:16/9:27 So Rush is right? She's a slut and a prositute? Maybe we should have her put the movie on the web?
Rush stepped into it and your welcome to follow him in.

Is it reasonable to assume that birth control pills help women in many other womens health issues?

GOPPER I witnessed the same. One thing you can count on is those people on the square are poor handicappers on races. I don't even think he can collect the delegates on 9 districts in the State even if he wins the popular vote?
After today they will have Romney signs up the ling-ling in the window.

Isn't it strange that insurance plans pay for Viagara to make sure that men can have sex, and on some of those occasions, get women pregnant. I'll bet Viagara is pretty expensive. But women, on the other hand, have to pay for their own birth control to keep those men from getting them pregnant until they want a pregnancy. And the men are fighting to keep it that way. Yeah, sure, sounds fair to me. What IS this...the 1950's? If insurance is willing to pay for the men to put the babies in there, then insurance needs to pay for women to have the right to keep them out. Equal rights.

The only thing that could add to this debate from the Right would be if it was televised in Black & White.

Election results Lake County GOP Primary

Romney 11,103 votes 43%
Santorum 8,212 votes 32%
Gingrich 3455 votes 14%
Paul 2534 votes 10%

You would think by now the local GOP would know where there voters hearts were? Like I said poor Handicappers. Seems like the four signs did little this time out?

I guess using words like c*nt and others for conservative women are in good taste? Double standards from Term as usual.

Those people should be thrown off the air as well. Two wrongs don't make a right.
My interest in this is that a women was verbally attacked and almost every Republican politican showed fear in calling Limbaugh out. John McCain was the only one who strongly came out against Rush.

Fear? Do the Republicans fear you? How about the Democrats? Rita, Joe, Council, the administration or the school board.

I think ignore or consider the source more accurate.

No one should fear anyone, and have no reason to fear me. I've probably upset more then one applecart on this blog.
But thanks for ignoring and considering the source.
My intention has always been to inform.

Inform is one thing. Usually just the facts.

Political opinion is something else all together. Are FOX News and MSNBC the same? Do you treat Republicans the same as Democrats? Yes it's your blog, but lets call it like is is, a blog that leans to the left most of the time and far left the rest. I wonder just how many Democrats voted in Painesville in the primary?

At March 11, 2012 at 11:25 AM , Anonymous TERM>> said...

Question 1. no they are not they both lean the way they want. Good example When Bush was in the White House FOXNEWS reported along with Hannity and O'Reily that the high gas prices at that time President Bush had little to do with it and even less he could do about it.[Check the video tape] To be fair MSNBC blamed Bush and now believe as FOXNEWS did then that President Obama can't be blamed now?
Leans Left and far left the rest of the time. To be honest with you if I don't agree with your Far Right leaning I'm an uninformed Leftest? So anything on the blog. can't be fact because their not yours. 2. I guess it really doesn't matter how many Democrats voted in the primary. Although Ricky asked us to vote for him. November is when the votes count.
Watchuing this Republican primary circus all I can say is a Democrat couldn't have designed it any better for November. A 1% can't beat a shamed Congressman and a two term Senator who lost his last election by 18 points. This is all you got?

Anyone who is so immature and asinine that they would call a health care plan that the President of the United States has formulated to try to make sure that all Americans have health care "Obamacare" does not deserve to be listened to by even one person. The fact that I have not heard even one Republican talk of the plan with the slightest respect, and such horrible disrespect, lets me know that they need to go back to kindergarten and not run the USA. Every time I hear them say Obamacare, I wonder how they would feel if they got sick or needed any kind of preventative screening and they did not have health insurance. I think the word Obamacare would leave their vocabulary pretty quick. Or let them have a sick child, or a child that is dying or will die from a disease because they have no health insurance. If anyone wants to know just how ridiculous and unworthy the Republicans are of running this country, just pay attention to them using that one word. We're talking about Americans without health insurance, and they're acting like babies. I wouldn't hire a Republican to walk my dog.

2:08 The thing that I don't understand is that there is no Republican solution to the health care issue this country has? What do they suggest it be replaced with.
Over the weekend I watched an overweight elderly lady ask Romney if he could assure her he would get rid of "Obamacare?'
Here is someone presently receiving Medicare [government provided insurance] and doesn't want care for everyone else?
I wonder if so 20 something asked Romney if your elected can you promise me to get rid of Medicare? Wonder what that elderly lady reaction would be? 50 million without health care in the riches country in the world?
disgraceful!
Has any Republican have a do able better idea?
On another note should the President apologize to the Afgan people for the actions of one American soldier? Can't we all just agree that enough is enough in Afganistan and bring our troops home?

I remember during the health care debate, just before it was passed, as the Republicans were pouting--one Republican said if people get sick, they can just go to their neighbors for help just like it used to be. The other Republicans chimed in their approval. I was so aghast that I was speechless. Oh, neighbors used to be able to give you medicine for strep, or treat your cancer, or give you the thousands or the hundreds of thousands it takes to treat an illness? Really, WHEN was that? In Republican la-la land? I'm not so sure that the guy that said it was not Romney. And they still talk about it as if it will be government-run. It will be people covered under free-enterprise health care plans of their own choosing, just like we have now. President Obama wants an optional government-run plan, and I hope people have that to choose from, too, but surely Republicans are too ridiculous to understand that concept.

On another note, of course we should apologize for a soldier of ours going to houses and slaughtering innocent people, including children. It was a massacre, and these people will never get over it, or see their loved ones come back to life. We need to make a million apologies if necessary. Nothing in the world can make this better, but that is all we have now that this horrible atrocity has happened to these poor people.
