"PLAY WITH FIRE" rolling stones

Today was my first day back in high school for many decades. I spent my first day (of two) as a ‘ride along’ with SR Officer Ponder.

I arrived at Harvey about 8 o’clock and met with Officer Ponder in his office. By nine o’clock, a secretary yelled into his office that there was a fight on the second floor. When we got there, two males were fighting, and two male teachers plus the principal were trying to break it up. One of the combatants weighed at least 285 lbs yet the incident was over within 15 seconds of Officer Ponder’s arrival. During my day, I observed many of his duties and he had a knack for being clairvoyant about where to be when needed.

It was reported to me last week about an incident that took place last month where a young male student allegedly brought a gun, a mask and a bag of marijuana into the school. The administration was notified at 6:45 AM and yet Officer Ponder does not arrive until 7:45 AM. During that time, the school administration took it upon themselves to handle it. My first thought was the minute I heard a rumor of a student with a gun, I would have called the police and not have tried to solve it in-house. As it turned out, it was a BB handgun and the student faces expulsion along with other charges.

In addition, last week a memo appeared in my mailbox that was from the administration sent to school employees stating that staff should only contact the SRO officer as a last option and try to handle discipline problems themselves. I believe this is because the SRO officer documents all of his activities throughout the day and some may be afraid of all this paperwork. Even the incident of the fight today was handled improperly because time was wasted contacting the SRO officer.

As a resident of Painesville and a taxpayer, I believe I would not work in that school or send my children or grandchildren there unless there was an SRO officer present there that had the full cooperation of the school administration and answerable only to the Painesville police chief. Along with Officer Ponder’s regular duties, he does have the advantage of knowing the students he is dealing with. This gives him an advantage. He genuinely enjoys working with the students and I can see that the students truly respect him and like having him there. I have no idea how we will fund this position but it is absolutely necessary, whether it be done by the school administration, the city or a combination of the two.

One thing I learned today: if you are eighteen years old, you can skip school or write your own excuses and no one can question you. Imagine trying to control that situation in addition to everything else that goes along with running a high school.

Overall, it was a very enlightening experience and I am looking forward to my second day with him. I will tell you... school has certainly changed.

If the teachers, etc. handle it themselves and do not call the officer, then it is probably not on any official record. If that IS the case, then that is probably why they do not want the officer called unless absolutely necessary. And, really, why else would they not want the officer called? Why would you not call someone who is a trained professional (and obviously, according to your observation, very good at his job), and instead jeopardize the students, teachers and/or principal?

Thank you for this post. I also understand you made council aware of the situation at the council meeting.

What will it take for everyone to realize Hanlon and Dillard are the root of our problems....things will start to change when we band together to get rid of these underachievers. Hanlon has failed to provide our school system with a vision for success, failed to find creative ways to engage our community, failed to positively impact the test results at ANY level, and his arrogance is appalling. The local administration has been strangled by these two dictators for years. Time for change.....at the TOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As for fights in the school......unfortunately they happen at all schools. Term, what freakin school did you go? I went to Harvey and had a few scraps myself.....don't think that made me a thug. Next time you visit....wear a skirt.....lol

I guess you will defend this action.

10:15 All students were in dress code. Although I noticed four boys in Khaki pants yey I could see atleast five inches of their underwear. Administrators seemed to not be concerned?
This is what happens, the majority of students follow the code but then some try to stretch it.
Yes I heard a great deal of profanity and it seemed not to be spoken in anger?
Some of these students will have an awakening someday.
Paula thats the nicest thing anyone has said to me today.
Paula aren't you to busy to read this stupid blog.?
11:08 The city will not be forgotten for long.
8:45 Yes fights always take place in high schools. I just remember a time when people in authority were listen to. Stop meant stop not start fighting with them.

I see the establishment has won their seats, extended.

Hal, you did good, got some votes, but not enough.
Congrats to Jenkins, I truly hope you do think, act ethically outside of the power structure.

Hach's victory, this just proves again the zombie nation we live in, this would explain why Browns fans still call into comment on 92.3... they just don't know any better..

Congrats to Deleone, not sure of his background, but same statement as was made to Jenkins. Think, and act ethically outside of the power structure.

All that being said, I am happy to see these results. But it is what it is... apathy , ignorance, and status quo..

Enough already. Honestly, I can't understand why I haven't responded to this tripe before this. I am getting a little tired of you, hiding behind your keyboard, harranging and harassing people, just because you can. I've seen you twist and bend and often just plain make up "facts" and occurences just to fit your twisted view of what we should all believe. I particularly enjoyed the assertation that a certain Painesville City K-9 unit appeared at the High School when, in fact painesville doesn't even have a K-9unit. They call on a neighboring community to use theirs. I doubt seriously that this unit was called for a non-existant event. I adore the way that you twist figures in order to make us believe that things are being hidden and covered up.
First, I would love an explanation as to why you are spending 2 days at the High School, wasting people's time, having to watch you and taking away from what they are supposed to be doing. What business do you have following a police officer around the building. I don't understand why you were even given this access in the first place. As a parent I would be very concerned about privacy issues and your close contact with juveniles, not your own, in the school environment. I'm sure that Officer Ponder, The school administration and the teachers have much better things to do rather than attend to you. Of course, you aren't hidding anything. Why not tell everyone what your true reasons are, i.e. that you're acting as a shill and a spy for certain individuals who wish nothing but harm to the current staff and administration of our schools. You don't like certain things so you're going to make everyone's lives miserable until you get your way. You don't have a clue how to address any of your so-called issues so, you just rant and rave.
When asked at a recent open meeting at the High School, a meeting at which you went on and on about teenage pregnancy and bad behaviour, why you weren't in the building helping work with these problem students, you answered "I don't have the time". You sir, have time to spend countless hours posting this drivel of yours, you have time to spend not one but, two days interfering and complicating the work of the S.R.O. and other school employees but, YOU DON'T HAVE THE TIME TO WORK AND HELP WITH A SOLUTION. You can't be bothered to share your experience and whatever skill you might have with a student who might benefit from the fact that you took time to spend with them. You are the true waste of resources in this community not the people you take such joy in castigating.
I personally could not care less about your politics and political rants. The system allows for prople to vote as they choose and they reap the benefits, good or bad, from their decisions. If you don't like it, why don't you run for office and change things instead of making fun of or casting innuendo at those who have been elected? What I do not appreciate is that you sit there on your high horse and stridently hammer at those who are trying to make a difference and would probably have a better chance at success if malcontents, like you, would stand up and do something rather than sit on the sidelines taking punches at them, but then, you sir, are a coward. You don't have what it takes to do something to make a difference. By the way, I truly loved the way you spent 2 stamps to send the same letters to 2 voters in our home. You could have accomplished the same thing by sending one letter to both of us and saved some money. Oh, you also left out the third registered voter in our home, a fact he really appreciated.
Respectfully,

Exterminator

Exterminator, You feel better getting that off your chest?
First the police car had K9 unit painted on the side. I never even mentioned seeing a dog.
I don't hide behind anonymous keyboard but I know someone who does.
In case you haven't noticed the schools do not just belong to the students, parents, teachers along with administrators. It belongs to all of us that live and finance this operation in Painesville.
You I believe have a problem and sticking your head in the sand and pretending everything fine must work for you?
Myself as well as many others have offered to help at the schools, ask Mr. Dillard. [ never a call back to any of us] Maybe are help is just not wanted?
I can take many of your criticism but a conspiracy as well?
I am coward and don't have what it takes to make a difference? You Sir/ Ma'am are the real coward with no guts or a backbone because as you typed on your keyboard the last button you hit was Anonymous! I am then to take you seriously? You are the joke try spending more time thinking instead of trying to "Exterminate."
On the letter... Two letters were sent if both people were registered Democrats in the house but had different last names. I did not send many letters to Independents along with the fact you most have shared them? I signed the letter you must know it's me posting? Then Maybe NOT!

Well, I'm glad to see voters are paying attention to names. Too bad they can't read the whole name. Bob Murphy ran for Lake County Commissioner. John Murphy ran for Painesville City Council three times and lost all three times.

They are not the same person or related. 6:40 and 9:13 must be products of our school system because they can't read. JOHN Murphy claims to be a Republican now, but didn't even get an endorsement from them for city council. Mike DeLeone did get an endorsement and survived Term's famous "THE LETTER" by receiving more votes than any other person running for council. Paul Hach receive the next highest number of votes, even after Term reamed him here. Over 820 voters voted in Wards 2, 3, and 4, yet in Ward 1, Andy Flock only got 466 votes running unopposed. Almost 400 less votes doesn't look like people are all that happy with him either, unless that many less people total voted in Ward 1.

Maybe NOT being tied to Term is the best way to run for office.

Well anyway congrats to he winners. The people chose you so time to choose what's best for the people.

Hey there Exterminator, how is the value of your house? Have you tried to sell it lately? Do you have kids at Harvey High School?

If not don't you wonder why this town helped fund the brand new schools and yet our graduation rate dropped 17% when the new schools open. Feel'n pretty good yet? Have your kids tried to get into an Ivy League school? Have your kids played sports at the college level or tried to get a job above minimum wage from the excellent education they got at Harvey?
Have you tried to have a conversation with a student at Harvey without being blasted with four letter words? Have you tried taking a few of those kids to a sit down dinner in a restaurant and discussed table manners?
Maybe Harvey's standards are so low they can't contend with your excellent education.
Do you wonder why we are ranked at the bottom of the schools in Lake County and have a teen birth rate higher than East Cleveland? What did you do when they started using the bike racks as stroller racks? Personally I went to Mrs Fairbanks and offered to pay for condoms for students when our babysitter died in childbirth, and she was 17 years old.
Yup, we offered and we tried and we volunteered and we did get off our butts but alas the door was closed. You are paying for an administration who is unaccountable to anyone and yet awarded more bonuses than I can count. Glad Term has taken two days off work to see what is going on in our schools.
Been there, done that and got my kids out!
So Exterminator, you tell us what you have done to save the schools or this town?
I'm having a hard time choking this mouthful of crap down for the last 15 years........

Painesville does indeed have a K9 handler. Officer Matthew Collins had Laika, then when Laika retired a couple years ago he got a new dog named Cash. Car #725 has been dedicated to Officers Collins & Cash.

The only time PPD uses another department's K9 is when ours is not in service (i.e. when Collins is not on the schedule or in the city) and a K9 is needed to track a suspect or do a drug sniff or something else.

For the record, here are the names of the K9 units east of Mentor to the county line:
PPD: Cash
Sheriff's Department: Saber
Perry Village PD: Loreto
Lake Metroparks: Carly

These departments rely on cooperation and occasionally have been known to borrow another agency's dog when their own K9 handler is not working.

I am a voter in Ward 1 who is not satisfied, and to show that dissatisfaction I did not vote for Flock. I could not in good conscience give him my vote, even though he was the only one running.
On another note, not surprising to see Madpotter running to TERM's defense. Enough said on that.

Well Term, John only ran against Troy in the Primary. Not exactly the same as running in a Nov. election to be elected by all the voters in the county to be commissioner. By the way, he ran in the Democratic primary and NOT in the Republican primary.

Also, he didn't officially become a registered R until May of 2010. Before that he was always a Democrat. Probably the reason the R's didn't endorse him for this election. I also don't think they would endorse him for commissioner either.

So I stand by my statement. He didn't run for commissioner, only to be the Democratic candidate to be on the ballot for commissioner in a primary election (May of 06) five and a half years ago, and yes he lost that primary to Troy.

Seems to me that everything Madpotter said is true, so I don't know what problem anyone could have with that. Nobody is just slamming the city or the city council or McMahon (council president) or the schools just to slam them. It's all true folks. And now the same gang, or as good as the same gang is in city council, so McMahon will stay, Hada and Hach, DiNallo and Fodor are still there so nothing will change. I personally cannot believe that the voters did that.

As far as Flock goes, I am in Ward 1, also, and I also did not cast my vote for Flock. I would have if I would have had to--if one of McMahon's/Hada's people were up against him, but otherwise--no. I've watched him not do his job for too many years, until now. Now I would have to say that he is the only one I am happy with on council, so like I said, I would have voted for him if I would have had to, but I did not have to, so I did not--based on decades of disrespect to me and my neighborhood.

I feel to many things are shoved under a rug or people think there's nothing that can be done. So much material, where to start, where to start? Before I go any further, I have to state that I am not here to get into a flame war with the likes of you. I definitely have better things to do. That said, I will continue to pop in every now and then to comment on your twisted, inaccurate assessment of things as they are.
Let's deal with the easy stuff first. I never used anonymous for anything. I signed my response with a Nom de Guerre just as you do, Terminator. In my opinion, you really should change that to "shuck and jive" or "duck and dive" but, that's just my opinion.
Second, where did I ever say anything about you seeing a dog? I do recall mentioning that you insisted on reporting that a Painesville K9 unit was seen at the High School when, according to my sources, Painesville does not have an active K9 unit and relies on the assistance of other, neighboring communities for K9 response.
Third, The schools belong to the Board of Education. Yes, we fund them, we support them and we should be involved with them. However, this does not give any individual the right to insert themselves into the process in a non-productive, interfering manner, as you do. I have a problem? Absolutely I have a problem. the problem is you and people of your ilk who insist on abusing the privledge of free speech by spreading inaccuracies and inuendo. I certainly do not bury my head in the sand and pretend everything is alright. At least I try and help with a solution, not claim that I don't have time to do anything. It is not up to Mr. Dillard, or anyone else to tell you where to help. It's up to you to find out where you can help. Instead you make a phone call that doesn't get immediate response so you quit. I too have questioned Mr. Dillard about helping out and have been less than satisfied with his non-reponses. That is Mr. Dillard's seeming inability to to cope with his position. I am no supporter of Mr. Dillard but, I have found, through several important interactions with him over the years, that he will listen and is somewhat willing to address individual issues that affect students and parents. You are in fact a coward and a quitter to boot.
On the letter....You sent two letters to the same household, to registered Democrats, at the same address with the SAME LAST NAME. What a great use of your money. Last time I checked, my wife and I have the same last name. You just couldn't figure that one out could you? Further you didn't send one to our son, a registered Democrat, at all. I know exactly who and what you are.
In the future, please keep your religious platitudes to yourself. I find it offensive for you to attempt to make yourself look good by injecting your "see what a great guy I am, I don't wish ill on someone, God will bless them" attitude into the conversation. It's just another way to deflect the fact that you've been called on some of your wholly fabricated rants. And, if it's any of your business, I have a great day every day. I also noted, you never directly addressed the question of why you seem to have uncounted hours to spew this drivel but, you don't have time to work with anyone on anything.
Finally, who said anything about a conspiracy? I didn't mention conspiracy at all. I just pointed out that you act as a shill and a spy for elemnents in the community who have axes to grind and have no answers, solutions or intentions of trying to solve the problems.
Respectfully,

Exterminator

(PART 2)

Now on to Madpotter. Your concern for the value of my home is touching. What possible connection does that have to do with anything? I choose to live here and at least make an attempt to change things. You obviously want to leave.
Now, you want to ask if I have any children at Harvey? Fine, here's the answer. Our son graduated from Harvey High School in June. I feel great about his accomplishments and those of his fellow graduates. Absolutely, he applied to and was accepted at Ivy League and other high end colleges and universities. In fact, since you asked, he was recruited (for academics not sports) at Rennselear Polytecnic Institute, Rochester Institute of Technology, Carnegie-Mellon, Bucknell, Columbia, Tufts, Boston University, Ohio State, Purdue, University of Cincinnati and others, for the study of Biomedical Engineering. Of the schools that he applied to, he was accepted at all but, Bucknell and was admitted to all honors colleges, direct admission to the program, rather than the intro Freshman Engineering programs and was offered full scholarship and aid at all. Pretty impressive by any standards. Further, our son achieved the following honors during his tenure at Harvey. Starting in the 9th grade, He received an Academic Letter, Letter in Drama and a JV letter in cross country and Varsity letter in Track. 10th grade, Varsity letters in Track and Cross Country, Most Improved award in Cross Country, All Academic Athlete award in the old N.A.C., the highest grade on campus in German at Lake Erie College, first 16 year old in Kent State history to be awarded a research internship at the Liquid Crystal Institute where he spent 3 years participating in ground breaking research in the use of nano particles as a delivery vector for medications in cancer treatment. Our son, along with another young lady of Harvey, became the first two students from Painesville to be accepted at the Foreign Language Institute at Kent State. Our son studied Russian and the young lady studied Chinese. They received credit not only for High School but, college for their studies. As a side note, our son is now fluent in 4 foreign languages (German, Russian, Hebrew and Yiddish). How mant are you fluent in? 11th grade, 1 Varsity Letter, tops grades in his college classes (beginning in the 10th grade he attended only college classes, nothing at Harvey), represented Harvey High School on the Lubrizol Community Advisory Panel, tutored his classmates in his spare time and had a part time job at a local business, and I don't mean McDonalds. To top off his experience at Harvey, our son's senior year was capped with another Varsity Letter in Track, a second All Academic award in the new conference, OHSSA Scholar Athlete award, top grades in his college credits, acknowledgment by the State of Ohio Department of Education TOP graduating seniors in the state. Also recognized, by the State of Ohio, for having the highest total of college credits earned under the PSEO program, EVER. He was awarded 132 credit hours at the University of Cincinnati which is the highest total number of credits ever earned by an incoming Freshman. He entered U.C. as a mid-year Junior. I won't even bring up the numerous articles written about him both locally and nationally about his achievements. He continued with his job (not minimum wage, far above, if that is even any of your business). Is our son unique? Hardly. The difference is that he had the support and help of a small cadre of people within the building. Without them, his accomplishments might very well have been thwarted. Am I bragging? YOU'RE DAMN RIGHT I AM. Thank you Miss Martin, Miss DeAngelis, Mrs. Kolovich, Mike Moehner, Miss Thompson, Mr. Patty and a few others.

(part 3 due to length restriction)

I not only have sat down with Harvey students, I've had them in our home when our son helped tutor them. While I found their manners sadly lacking, I did find them to be sincere about trying to be better. You took your children out? That solves the problems doesn't it? What a riduculous action, offering to buy condoms. At least I'm in the building, helping students who need help on my own time, working with those in the building who are trying to find answers and solutions, not just running my mouth. I do not like the current administration, I do not like Dr, Hanlon, as those who know me are very aware but, at least I'm willing to talk with him and try to work something out. I absolutely feel that the current Board and top administrators are incapable of delivering the leadership and vision that will pull Painesville Schools out of the bottom tier and raise them to the level of a Beachwood, Solon, or even Kirtland. The current Board is made up of elder statesman who can't or won't realize that we need new ways. The only way to accomplish a true change is to replace them with new blood. By new blood, I don't mean individuals who have axes to grind or bad intentions for current staff. The attitude that they have shown, i.e. all disciplinary problems can be solved by dress codes or new buildings, doesn't float these days. You all complain that the behaviour in the schools is abhorent. This is after several years of dress code? What problems did that solve? New buildings have nothing to do with what goes on inside. It is our duty as parents to get these children to understand what they need to be doing. Children will fight, children will try to bend rules, children will be lazy. That's what children do. We, as adults need to show them the right way to prepare themselves. You don't do that by instituting rule after rule after rule. You have to enforce the rules you have, evenly and consistantly and raise expectations. Stop coddling the low end. Make them rise to an acceptable level and teach them that mediocrity is not acceptable. When you learn to do that, instead of getting your kids out, come back and I'll be willing to talk with you.

Again, Respectfully,

Exterminator

Your not only in a flame war but you seem to make little sense?
Maybe you need a torch?
Exterminator, What inaccuracies and innuendo"s?
What's is your solution?
Along with being so concerned about my stamp purchases?
I am happy your son is doing well but I have concerns about the other 700 students in that school as well. If you did attend those meeting you heard the principal tell us that the students believe the community doesn't care about them? So I go to the school to see first hand whats going on and you complain? You complain I don't help. You complain I don't push hard enough to help and at the same time show concerned you would be concerned about the ilk such as myself being around these juveniles?
Conspiracy theory YOU brought it up. "acting as a shill and spy"
So I must be secretly plotting to commit a wrongdoing in collision with others? Who am I a shill for?
Someone mentioned you might not be wound to tight? I think your wound a little to tight?
If your son proformed so well at Harvey why are you upset with Dr. Hanlon?
I suspect you believe that myself and madpotter as well as anyone else should listen to only you?
I only hope you understand the paper trail left by Harvey graduates hasn't been that stellar in the past decade for college graduation? Most tell me they aren't prepared.
Be upset all you want I'll give you a platform to vent.
And finally I do hope God blesses you and yours. As well as everyone that comes here.
Thank the Orkin man for informing you about K-9 Cash. Seems you just might not have all the answers?

Term, It shouldn't be to hard to find out who "Exterminator" is. There must only be 75 students at Harvey with his sons accomplishments? I can't even begin to wonder what his point seems to be.

Out of 736 high schools in Ohio Harvey is ranked 665 that says it all. The whole administration should be fired. All of them. You will want more money dream on.
Parents should demand vouchers for there children's future. Not more stories from Fodor, Hanlon, or even this exterminator person.
As the opportunity so the responsibility? What to get to be 736?

Wow Ex. not going to get in a match up about who's kid is doing what but those who know, know they are doing well. Under grad programs as well as MBA's. enough said. Am I proud; of course, but this blog is not the place to list their accomplishments.

I watched Dr. Pazey come and go; got the first kid out of Harvey and on her way. Enter Kim Martin, I volunteered at Harvey and attended many functions. Got pretty tired of watching Martin high five and working hard to be welcomed into the "hood"; Kim Martin exacerbated the "hood" mentality. I watched students loose respect for the principal. I listened to teachers like Ross Grippi and a few others who are still there. As a parent it was shocking to hear what was going on from a teachers perspective, again lost respect for the administration. What happened to working together to educate the next generation. The more I became aware of what was going on the more I realized it wasn't about the children.

When my first daughter graduated and Dr. Hanlon spoke at commencement, imagine my complete disgust when the best he could come up with was reading a country western song.....
"I Hope You Dance" Really? That is what you believe to be your best parting words for this graduation class?
I did not say much because we had one more daughter to get through the system. When she graduated I did call Dr Hanlon and ask him not to repeat another country western song. He seemed offended...... I did not care.

We have always stood for the teachers. I believe some of the best and brightest teachers are in the Painesville City schools. I cannot say that about the administration. I have met with Dr. Hanlon and am happy I no longer need to have meetings with anyone in the administration.
Yup, I took five Harvey kids to Europe on a back packing trip in Feb. Also traveled to art museums with Mrs LaBounty and so it goes. So Ex I guess we both get our gold star for involvement.

We watched the system slowly erode by the time the last kid graduated; in six years it had become a very different school. I will not vote for another school levy until this administration does an about face and accepts some accountability for what is going on. I am very happy with Steve Costell and Ross Grippi newly elected board members. If they need support I hope they let us know what they need.

part deux......
So Ex. seems we both got kids out and have bragging rights but the reason our kids got out is due to; good family, good teachers and high expectations. The holy trinity of education. What we did for our kids we should be doing for the administration. When my kids screwed up they were asked why and what for and there were usually consequences. And no, we never beat our kids. It's going to take the community to get this system turned around.

Not one family on my street sends their kids to the city schools. Most go to Riverside or Lake Catholic. The street used to be all Harvey students.

Ex. I hope your kids come back to Painesville, mine will not. They have been back for visits from time to time and one even spoke at a council meeting as to her concern over the way the city was headed. They have both moved on to other communities.

Oh and we are not moving as we have been here over 25 years and spent a couple years re-habing an old house and a half acre of property.
We now grow most of our own veggies and fruits.
But then I prefer to live in Paine Falls and not the 'ville. It really is better in Paine Falls.......... I like kayaking, fishing and bird watching too much to leave the river and my better half can ride his bike to his sailboat which he spends summers racing the Great Lakes circuit.

But then I do work in other school systems from time to time and I have found it much easier to just say I live in Paine Falls ........... completely different reaction then saying I live in Painesville. Try it, it will make you laugh.

I don't defend, Term he can do that just fine on his own.

Super glad the elections are over and now on with living.

Peace out bloggers, the potter has entered the busy season and will be off the blog o'sphere.

blog on.............

4:16 I know who Exterminator is and presently care little about his drivel? I have no idea what he expects but if it doesn't include a dog, stamps or a conspiracy he flames out?
My only concern is he must have sniffed to much of the glue where he works?
His son is lucky he never crossed a person with a gun, mask and a bag of pot at Harvey.
Madpotter I think you hit it on the head. "It wasn't about the children."
"Norn de Glue" really?

My son told me today that there was a huge fight in the Harvey cafeteria. The police were not there and one child was seriously hurt and taken away by ambulance. Were the police not called or unaware? I'm concerned about the safety of my sons if the school officer takes a day off or something like today. I wonder if this incident was reported or if it's being handled like a prison "in house."

9:10 I put your post up. Presently I am trying to confirm that the incident took place. I am not sure if the S.R.O. officer was at Harvey Thursday.
Please lets not jump to conclusions.

I was told the Staff followed written procedure, which was to call an Administrator [not the SRO] the Administration call the PFD ambulance. I was also told this was done to avoid a police report. I hope this is not true, if it is, the Principal and Administration are no better than Joe Pa and Penn State

They may have followed written procedure but the buck stops with the administration. What were they thinking! For their own safety plus the safety of students and staff, if it was to protect the school from having to report then shame on them. This should have been a code (and I am aware of all these drills) no questions asked and called for by the administration! That BB gun used the correct way could kill. And then not to inform the community about the situation and how it was handled. Many administrators should be removed for the handling of this situation. I speak as a parent that had children successfully graduate from HHS- this would never have happened this way during their time!

Exterminator ---I like you.
I have said many times about Terminators my way or the highway and his spin doctor versions.
But alas, he denied it all and said he doesn't spin the truth, skew the facts or manipulate the data. I don't know who mad potter is but she hit the nail on the head about KMartin, the high fives and the hood mentality really comes out around those certain students.

4:34 I believe we are 698 out of 736 we should only wish to be 655. Thaks again DR. Hanlon and Kim Martin.

Here's why I read this blog. First Paula agrees with exterminator that Term doesn't know his head from a hole in the ground. Then mentions how much she agees with maddpotter who usually agrees with Term and believes she hit the nail on the head about the principal at Harvey? Who exterminator thinks is the best thing since slice bread????
I wonder if all the Paul's and a's read things before they vote or type.
